[How have the animals affected Amaterasu and her usual antics? Not much at all, if her trotting about with Kurow in tow today is any indication. The animals are occasionally herded away from mischief, but the two of them seem more interested in a more competitive pursuit.

Ammy will be trotting about, attempting to win over the local ladies with cute whines and dirty tricks such as rolling onto her back to get belly rubs. She’s quite a smash hit, especially with the younger girls! Kurow, on the other hand, gravitates to older ladies of a more refined appearance. With a raised chin, he floats on over and tosses his hair as he speaks confidently, but the fruits of his efforts are varied by the fact that 1) he's short (that's not classy at all) and 2) he's too young to leave that sort of impression. But hey, they must consider his antics cute, because most of them stop to humor him—and for that, he's far from being discouraged.

They seem to pause, at times, to talk to one another about their triumphs (but never their failures), having a typical boasting contest as most boys do about impressing girls. There are opportunities, naturally, to approach the two and ask them more directly what they’re doing... or, of course, if you’re a pretty lady, you’re very likely to be approached first. I mean, why mess with plain old animals when you can chill with a totally cool sun goddess dog? Oh and that cute but weird blonde kid, that too.]

[Amaterasu is out again today! But instead of roaming about like she usually does, she's got something set up...

And behind her is a GIANT FREAKING THING OF TEA. Seriously that barrel is bigger than Ammy is, who even needs that much tea? And how did she get it all set up with that fire burning underneath it and clean water boiling and-- Ammy. Ammy please. And it's not only the tea, there's also a barrel of sake.

Ammy herself is at least sitting politely on one of the pillows, sitting and waiting for someone to join her, apparently. She's particularly eager to meet the people she met when she was body-switched, but hey, there's all kinds of new people to meet.]

[Like many others residing within Vatheon, Amaterasu was subject to a body exchange as well. "Luke" is wandering around, as though he's just now figuring out how to walk on two feet, and looking remarkably disoriented.]

[With a miserable, dog-like whine, it's fairly clear that it's certainly not normal behavior for a teenage boy! There is simply so much to still figure out about this body, that Ammy wanders over to people, pawing at them with hands (though she's had them three times, thumbs are still just the strangest thing) to get their attention.]

[ I'm sure you've seen dogs, Vatheon. Here's one right now. He's a perfectly normal, inconspicuous mixed breed. Toy dog, definitely. There's some schnauzer in there, maybe part scottie, part westie. Could be a kind of poodle. But he's a dressed dog in a polka dotted neckerchief. He's already shaken himself dry, thank you very much but looks to be in need of a rubdown anyway.

He also has a very curious nose.

Like any good dog, he'll be putting that nose to good use.

The coral is his first target. It causes the smallest frown and he sits down to scrutinize it even more. His head turns this way and that and you're sure you can hear the smallest little "hmm..." come from him. Definitely not normal dog behavior.

Anywhere else around the city and he's going to be less suspicious: pawing through things, peering into places, even possibly sitting down while you eat at the cafe in an attempt to mooch a handout.

So Vatheon, when faced with a dog this cute... what do you do? ]

[Amaterasu's journey home meant a lot. She returned, finished off Yami, and ascended to the Celestial Plain. She stayed there, restoring it, and sent her son to Nippon when it was in danger yet again, so that she could continue to repair the damage to the heavens.

One of the things she was definitely not expecting? Showing back up in Vatheon! She looks around, surprised, and shakes her fur dry. She's got a much healthier glow to her than before, and those who believe in gods can easily see her more elegant markings of divinity. In fact, after the whole ordeal, many people who didn't believe in gods may be seeing more than usual!

Ammy is definitely interested in meeting back up with everyone and seeing if they're alright. Though it's been a few years for her, everything looks exactly as it was. Wibbly wobbly timey-wimey? Hmm. The first order of business is to check her house, but she wastes no time in dashing through the streets, exploring all of the main areas, hoping to run into friends.]

[ apparently there's to be an eclipse this evening. the entire bubble itself will be darkened as it usually is at night sans for electrical lights and the coral, but the real show will be able to be seen on the island. it sounds interesting, so maybe you want to check it out? a lot of other people are going—

although if you do decide to visit the island that evening, you might be in for an unexpected surprise. sure, the eclipse itself is pretty fantastic and not a thing one would expect to be able to see in vatheon of all places, but there's something else on the horizon... ]

[The streets and walls of Vatheon were typically devoid of any graffiti. It'd happen, now and then, but it wasn't that noticeable.

Now, however, the graffiti was incredibly noticeable. But unlike most spraypaint-type graffiti that most modern people would recognize, this all appears to have been done with some sort of ink. The symbols are all extremely simplistic, though some have things like cute little flowers or some drops of water to help "illustrate" what they are. There's also doodles of things like stars and hearts, and of course plenty of simple Kanji here and there.

And, most importantly, the dead giveaway of the source of all this inky mess, black paw prints trailed around town. Follow them, and you will inevitably find Ammy, who is likely doodling on the side of a building or maybe even flirting with some cute waitress by painting tiny little squiggles or hearts on her face (and getting some awesome petting and food in return).]

Ran was gone.

And he couldn't follow.  He was still trapped here, in a bubble under the ocean where nothing made any sense.  Protected from the ocean by a device that seemed to defy the laws of physics.  Trapped here with only an annoying rival of a thief for company.

What should he do now?

For once the detective didn't have an answer.

And so he had left the house early and found an isolated corner of the park.  He had always done his best thinking while kicking around a soccerball.  And today he had a lot of thinking to do.   And other things to deliberately not think about.
