Arrival
Who: Neytiri (
the_next_tsahik) & you
Where: The Plaza
When: 18th, mid afternoon
Style: I'll match yours~
Status: OPEN
The first thing Neytiri realized was that she was soaked to the bone. Cold, salty water covered her prone form from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. Her ears flicked from side to side, scattered clear droplets onto the ground around her. One, cat like eye slid open, followed by its twin a moment later. The surface below her body was cold and hard; something more akin to the human compounds, not the soft, warm earth of the Pandoran jungle. Letting out a quiet groan, the Na'vi carefully pushed herself up into a sitting position, taking a moment to brush the dirt off of her hair and queue.
She appeared to be in some sort of... central area? All around here were alien dwellings and objects. By their size, she guessed that humans must live here. Great. Sure, her mate was a former human and a portion of the smaller species had helped give Pandora back to the Na'vi; but that didn't mean that she had to like them. Annoying, little children, that's what they were. Neytiri shifted on the smooth surface of the ground and reached out with her arms to push herself up-
Something plant like touched the tips of her fingers and a powerful tingling feeling spread throughout her body. A hiss escaped her throat and she quickly drew back her limb. The... coral. It held a different type of energy than that of Eywa. Neytiri moved to face the giant thing, her anger gradually turning into curiousity. Humans weren't capable of something like this. It felt alive, she thought as she observed it with narrow eyes. Both similiar and yet so different than the Great Mother's own spirit. But this was something that could be examined at a later time. Right now, Neytiri needed to figure out just where she was and if there were any other Na'vi here, too.
And Jakesully. She would feel much better if her mate was here alongside her. Her long tail curled up around her thigh as she sat there, leaning against the circle of stone surrounding the odd coral structure. It wasn't until Neytiri thought to check her body for injuries that she found the marking tattooed on the flesh of her stomach, its black ink a stark contrast to the deep blue of her skin. She touched it lightly with the tip of a finger. It looked like she had always had the mark. It was a rather nice design, but the color? Neytiri would have gone with white or a light blue.
Not that she had given thought to having herself tattooed. The Na'vi had already had to stop her childish mate from letting one of the human scientists give him an outrageous mark; Jakesully had wanted a permanent tattoo of a white tie-grr, whatever that was. He was Toruk Mackto, the Olo'eyktan of the Omaticaya clan; he didn't need to look anymore ridiculous that he already did, what with the extra digits on his hands and feet.
((OOC: There's a 9 & a half foot practically naked cat alien sitting next to the coral in the plaza. What will you do?))

...well, staring seems high on the list, at least at first. He's seen cat people, and he's part alien, both aren't exactly shocking to him.
It's the 9 and a half foot and bright blue that's throwing him. And apparently some of the greeters.
He'll take up their slack by grabbing a towel and approaching. Hey, he's curious.]
Are you alright?
no subject
Before she could help herself, her lip lifted back in a snarl and she turned to face the owner of the voice, one hand reaching for the dagger strapped to her lithe body.]
no subject
Trunks halts, but doesn't step back, he's pretty sure he can probably take whatever this newcomer would hit him with if it came to that. Despite the weapon strapped to his own back, he's trying his best to come off as non-threatening.]
I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Trunks. Here.
[Towel?]
no subject
I... apologize. Thank you.
[She takes the towel, but it's hardly going to be enough.]
no subject
If her sense of smell is good enough she might be able to pick up that he's not completely human. He smells a bit like a wild animal. Dare I say...monkey-like?]It's alright. Arriving here can definitely be unsettling. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to help.
no subject
Tell me, then; what exactly is this place? I assume I am not the first to arrive here in such a manner, yes?
no subject
You're not. There's a lot of us off-worlders that have been brought here from different places and times--by that coral behind you, actually. It's worshiped as a god here. The city, maybe the whole world, is called Vatheon.
no subject
[She glances back at the large formation behind her. Perhaps she should connect with it? Neytiri took her long queue in hand, letting the tendrils peak out of the end... No, not yet. It might do more harm than good.]
no subject
[He sees the gesture with what, to him, just looks like a really long braid of hair, and wonders--but doesn't ask.]
That seems to be the main reason we're drawn here, anyway.
no subject
His path obstructed, he folded his arms and stopped two or three yards from the creature and the coral. He'd wait for it to be done with its business and gone.
no subject
He just stood there, arms crossed. Neytiri raised an eyebrow in response.
no subject
"Are you done?"
no subject
"Is there something I was supposed to be doing?" she asked curiously.
no subject
"You're new," he stated, not asked. Unfolding his arms, he continued, "The coral replenishes your stamina. You must have felt its effects by now."
Which was to say he had business with it, himself.
no subject
no subject
That didn't jar his memory.
"Lamufao is the city's deity. Humans are incapable of creating something so powerful."

...Further upwards.
....Oh.
There was a second of awkward silence wherein Meowth realized he was not alone, that he was also very small in comparison to what was presently standing in front of him, that he was alone with no back-up and no weapons, and that he was pretty sure if this was a Pokemon, it probably wasn't a friendly one, because most things that grow to be four times his size are not entirely friendly. And if it wasn't a Pokemon, the same thing still implied.
So... Meowth did the only thing that a tactically trained Team Rocket agent would do in this situation.
He screamed like a girl and hid behind the coral.
no subject
"It is alright, little one," Neytiri called out in a soft voice, bending over closer to the ground to try and appear as non threatening as possible. "I will not hurt you."
no subject
Finally, he took a deep breath and wandered out from behind the coral, looking wary and... Trying to manage some degree of intimidating.
Spoiler: It wasn't very effective.
"For your sake, you better not be lyin', lady, 'cause I got friends in high places and they'll be real mad if somethin' happens t' me." Yeah. Friends. Those things he had none of.
no subject
Even a baby nantang (or viperwolf, as the humans would call it) would be more intimidating than this little animal.
"Well, aren't you a fierce warrior! Your companions must be proud of you." She wasn't trying to making fun of him, just a bit of playful teasing.
no subject
One (teasing) compliment and it goes to his head. Ego is not a strong enough word for Meowth.
no subject
Arf!
[Her tail wags, and she pants, looking as friendly as possible!]
no subject
You remind me of a creature I have only read about. Are you from a human world?
no subject

[She gestures to the the long braid that is currently placed over one shoulder.]
Have you, by any chance, seen any others that look like me?
no subject
[No, she hasn't. =( Ammy keeps looking at this strange, enormous creature, just fascinated.]

For a moment, he slipped one hand into a secret pocket in the side of his robe, his fingers briefly brushing against the smooth surface of his EvronGun as he contemplated attacking the newcomer. He decided against it, however.
Here was someone evidently new who, like him, was different from the mostly terrestrial population of Vatheon.
Someone who, maybe, could understand.
But before Gorthan could approach that someone? Someone had to do something about her state of undress.
Gorthan walked up to the newcomer and huffed a bit as he detachee a large, light turquoise cape from the back of his robe. He held it with both hands in front of her, with every intention to cover her in it.
no subject
They were an odd lot, certainly.
She wrapped it around her, though quite a bit of her long legs were still visible. "Thank you. This will cut down on the staring, I suppose."
no subject
He... really wasn't used to having to look up when speaking to somebody. But it didn't make him uncomfortable - he had dealt with taller aliens before.
"Who are you?"
no subject
She towered over Mithos - to her, he'd probably look like a human child, since his ears are covered by his hair. He probably barely came up to her mid-thighs, if not her knees. Looking up at her, he tried to figure out what she was. She looked like a specific type of monster from his own world. Finally deciding that staring was rude, he reached for a towel, and handed it up to the excessively tall blue woman. ]
no subject
There is no reason to fear, young one. Children are precious to the Great Mother. I will not harm you.
no subject
[ Sorry. He's being defensive. He'll get over it. ]
I'm just trying to be friendly.
