Ran was gone.

And he couldn't follow.  He was still trapped here, in a bubble under the ocean where nothing made any sense.  Protected from the ocean by a device that seemed to defy the laws of physics.  Trapped here with only an annoying rival of a thief for company.

What should he do now?

For once the detective didn't have an answer.

And so he had left the house early and found an isolated corner of the park.  He had always done his best thinking while kicking around a soccerball.  And today he had a lot of thinking to do.   And other things to deliberately not think about.

[ Kaito has pretty much forced himself to go into the park and he's doing all that he can to ignore those stupid banners. Ran is gone which means the detective is probably sulking around here somewhere. Kaito himself feels a strong sense of relief that he no longer has to keep up the act but even he feels bad about what happened. ]

[ No masks today. No irritating grin. And no pranks as Kuroba Kaito just moves over to the detective, watching him a moment before finally breaking the silence. ]

He kicks the ball off the back of his foot and bounces it off his head. He knew perfectly well why this guy was here, but he didn't feel like dealing with it right now.

I had too-I have to take care of Aoko-she doesn't have any kind of danger radar. Besides-being you is exhausting.

[ He watches him a moment longer. ]

[He still refuses to look at Kid, as he puts all of his attention toward the ball.]

[ ...Kaito so badly wants to tell him he's excused. But he refrains because his objective is not to annoy Conan, at least for now. ]

[ He doesn't like seeing the detective like this. It's depressing and just not a pleasant sight. Too bad the only thing that would take his mind off things would be a case.. ]

[Conan didn't want to be cheered up or distracted right now. He wanted to wallow in the guilt and worries that he was certain he deserved. But if it would make Kid go away....]

[He traps his soccerball under a foot when he hears the crash, and heads over to investigate. At least this was a distraction.]

[As Bianca got up, she started mumbling to herself before getting back up. She really needs to start looking out where she was going...

Hey, can I ask you something? Do you know anyone who knows how to use a knife pretty well?

Well, I was going to make a pizza but ...I don't know how to cut a pineapple.

That isn't difficult. First you have to cut off the crown and stem. The stand it up on one end and slice the skin off. Then you just have to remove the eye spots and cut it into slices.

Hm...I probably should have brought a knife with me ...but then again, it would be difficult to bring it back...

[Conan sighs. This hadn't been in his plans for the day, but he was beginning to worry about allowing this girl to handle a knife with supervision.]

Maybe you should take it back to the kitchen, then?
