[ I'm sure you've seen dogs, Vatheon. Here's one right now. He's a perfectly normal, inconspicuous mixed breed. Toy dog, definitely. There's some schnauzer in there, maybe part scottie, part westie. Could be a kind of poodle. But he's a dressed dog in a polka dotted neckerchief. He's already shaken himself dry, thank you very much but looks to be in need of a rubdown anyway.

He also has a very curious nose.

Like any good dog, he'll be putting that nose to good use.

The coral is his first target. It causes the smallest frown and he sits down to scrutinize it even more. His head turns this way and that and you're sure you can hear the smallest little "hmm..." come from him. Definitely not normal dog behavior.

Anywhere else around the city and he's going to be less suspicious: pawing through things, peering into places, even possibly sitting down while you eat at the cafe in an attempt to mooch a handout.

So Vatheon, when faced with a dog this cute... what do you do? ]

[ You pet him obviously. I mean, really, there is no other option open. Sophie frequents the coral pretty regularly, so when she spied the pup on her way from the plaza, she naturally stopped. The silver tabby riding on her shoulder meowed a protest, but Sophie paid the animal no mind beyond gently patting the kitty's back. Hm. A puppy. There sure was an abundance of abandoned puppies here. She wandered over to the animal, curious. ]

[ Unfortunately, the coral seems to have most of Mephisto's attention. Truth be told, he's trying to make head or tail of it. It seemed to be pretty important to the locals... and that meter was pretty unsettling too. And what was with that weird feeling it gave off...

Should she approach to pet him, he probably wouldn't bite but should she listen in close, she might actually hear him muttering to himself. ]

[Well, what any four year old does when faced with a dog--try to pet it, of course.

Hope you don't mind small children getting close to you as he reaches a hand out to try to pet your head.]

[ Thankfully, he's not a bitey dog. In fact, he's gonna lean his head in for the petting -- like he deserves it. ]

[Mooch a handout? But Shinjiro likes all the dogs. This might be your lucky day! Hmmm, he hadn't seen you around before, so the first thing he will do is look at you suspiciously.]

[ Oh come on. Nothing too suspicious about this dog, Shinji. But gosh, talking to animals like you expect them to answer? Let him surprise you. ]

I don't have an owner per-se. Rather, I prefer to go my own way.

The Once-ler has just kind of been hanging around the plaza, trying to get his bearings. At least he is dry now. That is an improvement. Currently he is at one of the little cafes near the plaza, sitting on the patio and enjoying and invigorating cup of tea with a croissant. A free cup of tea and a croissant. Which, on the one hand, aww yeah free, no costs. But on the other hand, oh god his precious economy.

He finally notices the cute little dog standing by his chair.]

Awww, now ain't you the cutest widdle puppy I ever seen.

[ He has yet to hear about everything being free. For now, he considers the best way to find his way around is to look perfectly inconspicuous and weasel his way into people's trusts.

However, the babytalk makes him raise a brow. ]

Is this how you talk to every animal you see?

[Follow it! Tail wagging, curious whines, and panting. He's a funny-looking dog obviously not an NPC dog THIS IS AN IMPORTANT DOG, but Ammy herself is much stranger. Well, she's more of a wolf than a dog anyway - details, details.

She barks at Mephisto, trotting closer from curiosity.]

[ His ears perk at the bark and he can't help but glance over his shoulder just to see who had called his atten-- oh. Oh, now this was interesting.

He'd expected something strange considering the coral but someone like Amaterasu? Now that's worth asking about. ]

...how curious. What, pray tell, may I ask are you doing here?

[Vriska is sitting outside a deli at a table as she picks at her sandwich, her legs crossed instead of hanging over the chair like any normal person would sit. She pulls at her sandwich, taking bites of some of it much like someone who was an exceptionally picky eater. She hasn't even touched her fries yet.

When she knocks one over to the floor does she notice the weird dog staring up at her.] The hell do you want?

[ Oh hey, fries. But no, he's not the kind to eat anything off the floor unless it was in a bowl. Gosh, Vri, he's more dignified than that even as a dog. ]

I was only just wondering if there was anyone around I could ask about the city.

[Seeing a dog around Vatheon was a new one for Rise, but oh man was this one a super cutie! And the neckerchief only complimented it's appearance even more!

So obviously, the only thing to do when you find yourself in such a situation is to cave and approach the dog for petting. It's gravitational pull of cuteness is just too much to bare, no matter how much she fights it she will still be pulled in inevitably!

Curse you cuteness, now she won't get her shopping done today like planned. But what was an adorable dog doing wandering alone through town? Did he even have an owner..?]

Hey there! [Oops reaching out to pet--] What are you doing out here?

[ See, this was why he preferred his dog form sometimes especially when you're somewhere new and possibly dangerous. It pulled in people easier.

Yes, petting. He enjoys petting. Especially from one so perky. Come to think of it, she seems to give off the air of someone from a visual novel... he can't quite recall right now but oh, seeing moe in the flesh. What wonders has this city yet to present to him? ]

I'm afraid I've just arrived. The locals haven't been the least bit helpful... perhaps you can answer what they've failed to?

[Sera is enjoying breakfast right now. She's seated at a patio table with a takeout box and a bottle of milk from the nearby restaurant.

Inside of it? A pile of fluffy scrambled eggs, a wedge of toast...and two sausages accompanied by three strips of bacon. What dog can't resist sausage and bacon, right?]

[ He's had his share of sausages and bacon, especially when you spend quite some time in Germany. Now there was sausage heaven for you. But what dog indeed could resist sausages and bacon? This was, after all, a whole new world and that meant new culture...

And new culture means new food.

So he's gonna sit here, milking the cuteness and seeing just how long and how far he could push the being cute bit. ]

[Well, the obvious answer is to pet him and befriend the animal with food. With a cheerful cry of 'Doggie', sorry about the sound level, Yachiru bounces from the cafe table over to the dog]

Hi Puppy! [She crouches down to pet him before noticing that he was staring at her food]

You want some Yakitori chicken?

[ Pettings yes. This city was very generous with the pettings. He likes the idea. Have some nuzzling for that petting... and the offer. ]

I wouldn't say no to yakitori but might you know somewhere I could find some takoyaki?

[She did hear that "hmm."

But she's still going to drape a towel over him and start smoothing out his fur anyway. It was probably just a regular dog noise, she's never seen this breed before and what the heck, she LOVES animals!]

Hey there, little guy. Where'd you come from? Are you a new arrival?

[Stranger things have happened, after all, maybe he was related to the mystical wolfdoggie that was here too. But he does have a collar of sorts, maybe there's a tag under there...not that it'd matter, if he is a new arrival it's not as though the address would be a Vatheon address.]

If you are, the coral we're sitting in front of brought you here. There's no way back, though, sorry.

[ Whoa, okay, whoops. That kind of surprised him a bit and causes him to jump ever so slightly before calming down for that towel rubbing. He's grateful if you can tell by the way his tail's a thumping. ]

A few minutes ago, actually. I'd had a feeling it was the coral.

[ There's a small lipsmack though. ]

A little lower, if you please?

[hissss boo a dog. this kitty's keeping her distance, making a face at him. it doesn't matter how cute he is, she thinks he's just another brainless mutt looking for trash to eat. if he tries to chase her she'll just beat him up, she's decided.

[ Trash? Excuse you, he would never eat trash. But he does see that raised brow, Blair and doesn't appreciate it. ]

I beg your pardon, kitty, but I simply haven't time to play.

[What cute dog? All Hayner sees is this mop thing with a girly bow scampering around.

He was munching on a churro when the mop appeared. Hayner thought about it for a moment before pulling off the top of his cinnamon covered treat to toss at...her?]

Here you go. Did you lose your master?

[ The churro bounces off his but he catches it on the rebound. Unlike any other dog, he sits down and takes his time to chew it and swallow it down. However, when he's done, he raises his paw to rub at his nose before looking up at Hayner. ]

I'm afraid I don't have a master to begin with.

[Amane is enjoying her tea right now. Sitting at one of the cafe's outside tables, she's drinking her tea form her cup. On the table is also a plate of macaroons. She got curious about them and ordered a few to try.

They're quite nice, in her opinion.]

[ French style macaroons? Mephisto was starting to discover that this place had managed to gather foods from every continent he knew so far and was liking it. However, he would never really bother a lady during her tea...

But hey, it never hurts to be a little cute, right? So he's gonna sit himself down, tail a wagging and looking up at her. ]
