[ I'm sure you've seen dogs, Vatheon. Here's one right now. He's a perfectly normal, inconspicuous mixed breed. Toy dog, definitely. There's some schnauzer in there, maybe part scottie, part westie. Could be a kind of poodle. But he's a dressed dog in a polka dotted neckerchief. He's already shaken himself dry, thank you very much but looks to be in need of a rubdown anyway.

He also has a very curious nose.

Like any good dog, he'll be putting that nose to good use.

The coral is his first target. It causes the smallest frown and he sits down to scrutinize it even more. His head turns this way and that and you're sure you can hear the smallest little "hmm..." come from him. Definitely not normal dog behavior.

Anywhere else around the city and he's going to be less suspicious: pawing through things, peering into places, even possibly sitting down while you eat at the cafe in an attempt to mooch a handout.

So Vatheon, when faced with a dog this cute... what do you do? ]

[Oh, good. He had even removed one of his handpuppets so that he could pet the dog, so that would have sucked if he had gotten bitten for his troubles. He cheerfully pets the dog's head, even trying to be as mindful as possible to not be rough.]

You're such a good dog...cute, too...

[ Not bitey in the least. He doesn't mind kids as long as they're like this one. The loud screamy kind are just itching for a biting. His tail's wagging too. ]

Or so I've been told.

[ And sounds rather pleased at being called cute. ]

Huh? [staaares] Did you just say something?

I did.

[ And yep, he's still sitting there with his tail very slowly wagging. ]

Ah, you can talk!

[Even though he should be used to odd things like talking dogs and such now here in Vatheon, it still manages to impress him.] That's so cool! I've never met a talking dog before!

I can imagine this isn't a common sight.

[ Tilting his head though. ]

And how long have you been here?

Um...a couple of months now, maybe? What about you, did you just get here?

A mere half hour ago.

[ Pardon him as he shakes himself a little dryer. ]

Is this a common occurrence? People arriving here without a warning?

Yep! It happens all the time here in Vatheon!

[And he doesn't sound too bothered by it though--more people means more friends to play with, after all!]

I see. And how often?

[ A tilt of his head. The sooner he unravels the mystery of the coral the better. ]

Um...it seems like people start arriving about one or two times a month? Maybe?

[He doesn't bother keeping track of things like that like he should, it's not really his biggest concern.]

Then we aren't the first and certainly won't be the last.

[ He's eyeing that coral rather closely though but there's a moment when he glances back. ]

...I don't believe we've been introduced. I am Johann Faust V, principal of True Cross Academy. And you are...?

Oh! I'm Reisuke Houjou! [He waves a handpuppet at the dog, moving it's little arms as if it's waving and throwing his voice to pretend it's actually speaking.] "It's nice to meet you!"

A pleasure to meet you, Reisuke.

[ Have an amused look at the puppet though. ]

You remind me of a student of mine...

Really? Do they have puppets like mine?

[Though he doubts that they're as great as his, but that's just his silly personal bias.]

One particular student. One of the newest in the class of exwires.

[ Reisuke is, to this demon's opinion, friendlier than Takara. Less suspicious. ]

[Well of course we're not suspicious, Reisuke's been on his best behavior today! :D]

"Exwires"? What's that?

[ Well, compared to a guy who ~~hasn't been given much of a reveal in canon~~ talks through his puppet... ]

The second lowest rank of exorcists after pages. This is a new class, after all. They'd only passed their qualifications a while back.

I suppose you haven't heard of it, have you?

[headshakes] Nuh-uh, never heard of it...but um, exorcists are like those guys that scare away ghosts and demons and stuff like that, right?

Absolutely correct! I see the concept isn't quite as foreign as I thought it would be.

[ Tail wagging now. ]

Wow, so...you work at a school where they teach people how to become exorcists or something?

[You mentioned how they were your students. But a dog being a principal of a school sounds kind of strange though...then again this one can talk so maybe that's allowed. ^^;;]
