[ I'm sure you've seen dogs, Vatheon. Here's one right now. He's a perfectly normal, inconspicuous mixed breed. Toy dog, definitely. There's some schnauzer in there, maybe part scottie, part westie. Could be a kind of poodle. But he's a dressed dog in a polka dotted neckerchief. He's already shaken himself dry, thank you very much but looks to be in need of a rubdown anyway.

He also has a very curious nose.

Like any good dog, he'll be putting that nose to good use.

The coral is his first target. It causes the smallest frown and he sits down to scrutinize it even more. His head turns this way and that and you're sure you can hear the smallest little "hmm..." come from him. Definitely not normal dog behavior.

Anywhere else around the city and he's going to be less suspicious: pawing through things, peering into places, even possibly sitting down while you eat at the cafe in an attempt to mooch a handout.

So Vatheon, when faced with a dog this cute... what do you do? ]

I take this form out of personal convenience. It raises less questions back in the Academy... but I must say. How astute of you.

I thought so. My cat can turn into a person too, you see, so I've learned not to underestimate talking animals.

[At least he's dressed. Also the pink smoke isn't far away from what happens with Blair, so no reaction there.

...Although she did underestimate how tall Mr. Faust actually was.]

This is the first time I've met a dog with a lot of magic, though, so thank you for the lesson, Mr. Faust. [And she'll bow back because her society is weeaboo enough to teach their students to bow to school overlords.]

Astute and intelligent. Your school has taught you rather well.

[ Ah, he can only wish some of his students could be so quick on the pickup.

But there's a look in his eye though. He's studying her. How perfectly schoolgirl. How traditionally moe. Rin, you've chosen so well. Aniue is so proud of your selection. ]

Ehehe...err...thank you, I do my best to stay at the top.

[Irony of an incredibly good student dating Rin aside, that is, gotta stay humble.]

My dear Okumura-kun has much to learn from you, of course. I beg your indulgence when it comes to him but seeing as he's managed to ease his way into such a comfortable position, perhaps I don't have anything to worry about.

[ And thus begins the long line of unscheduled visits. ]

I don't suppose you could summarize what has happened this past year?

[...Indulgence. Yeah, no worries there, she spoils him.]

Hmm...well, I first met Rin during the thought bubble curse--that's when all of our thoughts are displayed in full view of the world, yeah, it's kind of bad. He explained to me then about the exorcist thing and how he's the son of Satan. That's when we became friends.

[Anyone listening to her tone could probably pick up on the fact that she puts no emphasis or awe towards the name "Satan." Only a tone of somebody who has no idea of who that is and is treating it as a regular person.]

He has a lot more friends than you'd think, though, so he's always busy taking care of or talking to them somehow. Then he went home for a while and came back--sometimes people leave for a while and come back to Vatheon, sometimes they remember being here and sometimes they don't. Obviously Rin remembered. That was when we started hanging out more and he told me about the training he's been doing with another friend of his to control his flames more effectively. Oh, and he told me that he could cook, too, and I suggested that he get a job in that field. He ended up getting a job as the kitchen cook at the host club.

[...She's just...going to skip over the whole story of them getting together, nobody needs to hear about that. Instead, she frowns as she remembers the incident with Vanitas.]

Then...this person called Vanitas attacked him and his friends, as revenge for Rin defending someone Vanitas was after. He killed Rin's friends right in front of him and he sort of...lost it. Vanitas was killed during Rin's rampage and I had to go snap him out of it. I think he's only just now starting to recover from that as he's taking care of his friends and working at the host club again. We recently moved into a bigger house since, for one, we weren't even living together in the first place but we were accumulating quite a few extra house guests anyway.

[She folds her hands behind her back and rolls her shoulders before shrugging.]

And, ummm...that's about all that's been happening in my view.

[ Oh now that little bit about his father's name surprises him. A world where the name Satan didn't strike fear into a heart.

Fancy that.

He stays quiet for the entire narration, nodding every now and then when he deems it necessary. He's also taking note of important names... especially that Vanitas who he may have to pay a visit to eventually. ]

A host club? I must say that surprises me. I never once thought he would go for that line of work.

Ah, but Miss Albarn, you have been quite an invaluable source of information! How can I ever repay you?

He's just cooking for them, not hosting. [Whoops, a little more of a snappish tone there. But seriously she'd strangle him--AHEM, she clears her throat and shakes her head.]

There's no need for that, Mr. Faust. I'm happy just helping out! If you need anything else, I'll do what I can.

[ Yes, this one's definitely a keeper. There's a nod back from what she's said but there's no mistaking the smirk that comes soon enough though. ]

And such possessiveness already. A classic tsundere! He's done quite well for himself indeed.

[ Obvious delight is obvious. ]

...[No, she's completely blanking on the word.]

Um...I'm not sure what that is, sir...

[ Not. Know... oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. This must be remedied. FOR THE SAKE OF THE YOUTH. ]

Does the word moe mean anything to you at all? Have you even managed to chance upon the beauty of His Her Situations or the heart wrenching story of Krandad?

...My...headmaster might have? He's sort of into Japanese things. But I don't really watch much TV.

After I settle in and found the right materials, of course.

Don't rush yourself, Mr. Faust, I know principals have a lot of things to do even when they're away from school. --Oh! By the way, here's our address--[HAVE A CONVENIENT SLIP OF PAPER.] Make sure to visit some time, huh?

[ Yup. Totally not suspicious at all you didn't give your address to Rin's half brother who's actually completely demon. ]

Settling in will be top priority of course. And then we can talk about introducing you to the wonder that is moe, my dear Miss Albarn.

[ Brief glance at he paper before tucking it into his jacket. ]

I'll make sure to drop by as soon as I've managed to find my bearings in this city. It would be rude for me not to. Until then... I request you keep my presence a secret, hm?

[ Conspiratory smile. ]

I want to surprise him. He's been alone without a familiar face for a whole year after all.
