Life's no fun without a good scare

It starts some time around 3am, Tuesday morning. Thin whispers of fog start appearing all throughout Vatheon, creeping through the narrow, winding streets, up the steps, and over the park. It starts in the lower district, but as the night progresses and daylight approaches, it spreads to the other districts as well, growing thicker and thicker as it does. By the morning rolls around, the mist is thick enough that visibility has been compromised greatly, and the temperature seems to have dropped a few degrees, an odd chill filling the air.

And on the walls, there are stains.

They are infrequent at first, just a odd ruddy brown smear and a oddly bright red drop here and there, but the closer to the Plaza, the more numerous they become. There is a large smear across the steps leading up to the Plaza, as if something big was dragged up them. In one place the blood -- for it is blood, there is no deny it at this point -- pools thickly as if whoever was responsible took a casual break there, leaving the poor victim to bleed out on the steps.

On the plaza, the mist is thinner, but that is no relief. Rather, it just functions to make the gruesome scene all the more clearer.

A woman is draped upside down on the coral. Or, well, woman. It was once a woman, certainly, but now it is nothing more than something straight out of a nightmare. The flesh seems to have been torn carelessly from her limbs here and there, showing the white gleam of her bones, her nurse outfit torn as if raked apart by giant claws and her head...

well, it isn't there anymore.

The ground in front of her is smeared with blood as well. But where the previous smears had been accidental, these are deliberate, long lines curving and meeting to spell out

But no help had been forthcoming, clearly. No, it seems that this murder, this brutal murder, was nothing more than a game to whoever did it. The walls of the buildings surrounding the plaza are coated in bloody, spelling out a long string of mocking 'HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA's and directly in the center, behind the coral.


Who is next?


The notice board seems to have been hit too. The killer did not tear down any of the notices on the board already, but they did cover the entire board with blood-stained sheets of paper, each adorned with the same text over and over and over again.


Chop chop, sweet Charlotte
Chop chop till she's dead
Chop chop, sweet Charlotte
Chop off her hand and head.


For those brave enough to check, no, the poor girl still has both her hands. Was the killer just sloppy, or does this mean this is not Charlotte? So many unanswered questions, more born every passing moment.

Who had done this? Why? Where they going to strike again? And why had nobody heard anything?

Oh, but I don't wanna go back yet... [It's too interesting around here, seeing such a gruesome sight like this and all the people showing up to it...sitting back in the apartment would just be boring by comparison.]

Then what do you want to do? It's a little dangerous right now, I think you would be safer in a building!

[hypervision]

Maybe, but dangerous things shouldn't have to stop me from trying to go out and have fun, right? [Though looking at dead bodies isn't usually considered "fun" by normal standards, so...] If we go anywhere, it should be somewhere we can play and enjoy ourselves, and not think about all the bad things!

You're really brave that you're willing to go outside for what happened!

[A lot braver than Bianca anyway. Or maybe he didn't really know?]

Maybe there is a playground we can find here! Would you like that?

Really? [But we're above childish things! ...But playgrounds are fun sometimes...well, knowing at least whether or not there was one here or not could be beneficial.] Yeah, okay, I guess that could be fun to do...

All right then, let's go! [...Not counting that she has no idea where the playground is though] Let's go on an adventure to find the playground!

Alright! [He's pretty sure he's seen everything here now and he can always come back later. He waves a puppet at you curiously.] Oh, I forgot to ask, but what's your name Onee-chan?

My name isn't Onee-chan! [But she does understand the -chan part though] My name is Bianca and you have to give me your name too!

[hypervision]

I'm Reisuke Houjou! [He holds up one of his handpuppets and mimes a pretend voice for it as if it can speak too as he clarifies a little more what the nickname means.] "Since you're bigger, that makes you Biancanee-chan, like an older sister!"

[Meanwhile, Bianca can't help but find it to be cute.]

Hehe, then as your older sister, it's my job to protect you from the evil meanies right now!

[hypervision]

Yeah, I guess that's true! In that case, please do your best to protect me, Biancanee-chan! [Even though he really doesn't need protection, he'll humor her anyway for now.]

[needsmoregreen]

Of course I will, or else I'll be a horrible sister! Now let's go! [With that said, she quickly looked at her communicator for a map] After I look up where it might be!

[hypervision]

Okay! But don't take too long to look! [Or else he might...get distracted and wander off or something, little kid that he is. ^^;;]

[And after a couple of minutes...] There we go! It's just about to the right of us! [If he was the hyperactive kid that she was, she knows that he's going to need a lot of distractions]

[So there really was a playground somewhere around here? Awesome!]

Really? Then let's get going, Biancanee-chan!

[needsmoregreen]

Right this way! [And we're off to see the wizard the playground! Just anything to escape from this place!] Follow me!

[hypervision]

Okay! [Though Reisuke does pause to take one last look at the body and carnage before he makes to start following Bianca to the playground.]

So...how long have you been here, Reisuke-chan? [That is what she was suppose to use right? Kazuma said that they use -chan on children and girls...let's hope that he was right!]

It must be really scary that you're here by yourself!

[hypervision]

A few weeks, I think. [He would have preferred "-kun" since he's a boy, but he doesn't correct her yet.] But it's not bad, there's lots of interesting people here to play with and talk to! And even Yunonee-chan and a few other people from back home are here as well!

[needsmoregreen]

Oh, that's good! I was worried what might happen if you were alone! That makes it a lot better! [And she mumbled a little bit before walking straight into a pole]

[hypervision]

[He has to stop himself from giggling at your klutziness, though he does put on a frown.]

Oh no, are you okay, Biancanee-chan?

[needsmoregreen]

[orz]

Y-Yeah, I'm fine! Nothing can harm, Biancanee-chan! [Although admittedly, she did find it kind of frustrating that she was still continuing to be a klutz even after her adventures] That means you should be careful too for poles!

[hypervision]

Yeah, okay...and I'll help make sure that you're careful for poles too, it's not fun to run into those. [Amusing to watch someone else run into them maybe, but not fun to run into them yourself. ^^;;]

[needsmoregreen]

Yeah...I'll need to be careful too! And anything that might come my way! [She said before rubbing her nose a bit] I think we're almost there! Just wait a little bit more!

[hypervision]

[Reisuke nods as he continues to follow her, though helping to keep an eye out in case she runs into something else and slows them down more. And then he vaguely remembers that earlier it sounded like Bianca had been mumbling something before getting distracted enough to run into the pole.]

...Hey Biancanee-chan, what were you saying before you ran into that pole? It sounded like you were gonna say something else too but then you got hurt... [Unless he just misheard her or something, which is also equally possible...]
