Masquerade! Paper faces on parade~

All day the Golden Victory club had been closed, the only people allowed in being the workers and helpers who were setting it up for the night's big event. Finally, at seven, the lights all turn on and the main doors open.

Leading up to the main doors is a red carpet walkway that will lead right into the main room. There, the usual club room is well illuminated with it's large bar at the back wall with plenty of drinks available for everyone. Along the walls, the club's chairs and some new loveseats are placed for anyone who would rather sit and socialize than stand or dance.

At the back, on either side of the large room, there are food tables with a wide selection, certain to please everyone. Along with these food tables are separate dessert tables. On their own table, there are three, large, cakes that anyone is welcome to dig into. (Although, they're just so pretty!)

In a few, strategic, locations there can be found baskets of masks just in case anyone needs one or wants to try and get one on a stubborn friend.

Lighthearted ball music and slow, peaceful songs lend to the atmosphere; loud enough to be heard and danced to, but soft enough that conversation is possible.

The hosts themselves, along with the staff of Temptationis Clementiae, are already there and in costume, as if welcoming their guests in for the festivities.

My race is a rather military-based one. We're used to conflict of most sorts, although it is quite possibly not for the better.

Occasionally conflict helps, but it's not something you want in abundance if you can help it.

Unfortunately, it seems our race is too far gone. It is quite a relief to see that the children who have been brought here possess a different mind to it.

There is hope here. For Alternia itself, well, it's lived out its time.

It's for the best. Changes in leadership and government usually help, as long as something worse doesn't replace it.

Of course. Alternian leadership hasn't changed in centuries, but I believe it might have come close in the future. Such things weren't destined to happen, however, but that is more than acceptable as well. Even planets have their endings.

If I may say so, you are quite the intelligent young woman.

Oh, um, thank you. [That's not something she's called often.] Only really major perk of being a general's daughter is the education. Between school and listening to his meetings with his officers, I learned a lot.

Besides the impressive education you hold under your belt, you also seem to have a fairly clear head on your shoulders. That's almost more important.

She starts nodding when the song ends, and they find the dance over.]

I don't mind hanging out for a little bit before I go find Squall. What about your friends?

Well, I have only accompanied another individual here, but he can hopefully take care of himself. He came here for rather... personal reasons, so I believe it is best to leave him be.

[Darkleer isn't a very good wingtroll. He is also not very much interested in being a wingtroll.]

It is only because of a favor that we are here together, the two of us.

They did. I have never attended any of the host club's events before, but if this is any indication, they are a rather amazing group. I could almost be persuaded to join their normal events, except I'm not quit sure what it is they do...
