so about that flyer...

[ there's a bit of a commotion tonight, and many locals are talking about something happening up on the island. anyone curious enough to check it out would first notice a glowing shore to match a starry sky; it seems to be a type of jellyfish causing this.

immediately afterward they would undoubtedly see a very large boat having apparently docked itself on the shore. there's no captain in sight and it appears to be completely inoperable, so it's a full-blown mystery on how it arrived on the shore. it certainly doesn't look like a normal boat though— probably due to the fact that it is utterly decked out for a party.

there are streamers, balloons, and a whole lot of glitter on deck. there's even a large banner that reads:

☆ HAVE FUN!!! ☆

on deck there are speakers blasting a nautical-style party music should dancing be your thing. nearby there's plenty of good food for the eating, along with a gratuitous amount of chapagne (with a non-alcoholic brand for the underage); a champagne tower can also be seen. party games are encouraged, and a few are even already set up (such as the large whale-themed piñata).

[Well, he's never been up here before, and what better time to do that than now? Those glowing things look suspicious, though, so he'll be down by the shore curiously prodding a jelly with the tip of his boot. ...Maybe that isn't a good idea.]

I think they're jellyfish.

[Axel keeps prodding but then he stops when he hears Roxas' voice.]

Well, obviously. [Prod prod prod] I've just never seen ones like these before. Kinda spooky, don't you think?

[Darn. He thought maybe he knew something Axel didn't for once.]

Spooky? I think they're kind of pretty.

...I guess.

[He stops prodding one of them eventually.]

So. You havin' fun?

Um...

[While he likes the view and all, just standing around on a beach so far does not equate to fun. Also the party is supposed to be on the boat, right?]

...not yet?

[flared]

[It's on the boat, yes, but that doesn't mean that people can't have fun on the beach! ...Somehow. He laughs and then looks out towards the boat on the sea.]

Maybe you should go over there, then. Sounds like fun.

[Well, no, but we just started talking.]

I don't know. It sounds like a lot of people.

People aren't your thing? Or are you afraid that too many people will make the boat sink?

[Axel snickered and then crouched down to eye the glowing jellyfish more closely.]

It's not gonna sink. I'm just- kind of used to avoiding people.

[He stays standing for the moment, watching to make sure Axel doesn't decide to start poking them.]

[Axel knows that, so he smirks knowingly.]

Then don't go on the boat. Simple as that, right?

[...you jerk.]

I'm thinking the company might be nicer though.

[flared]

Geez, make up your mind, kiddo.

[Axel laughs all in good humor, however, before he straightens back up. Nope, he won't chance poking the jellies right now.]

We can both go over there if it makes you feel any better.

[coolerthansora]

It might.

[He stops pouting frowning though to ask:]

Did you want to go?

[Because that wasn't exactly his first suggestion. Maybe he'd rather stay out here inspecting jellyfish. Axel's weird sometimes.]

[flared]

[You mean he's weird all the time, Roxas.]

I don't mind either way.

[Roxas is only learning the extent of Axel's weirdness as he gets to know normal people.]

...I guess if it's no fun over there we can always just leave.

[flared]

Then start swimming.

[He laughs. Is he serious? Maybe, maybe not.]

[You are messing with him again, aren't you?]

[flared]

[Why yes he is.]

Don't tell me that you're scared of a little water.

[Don't mind the guy in shades (isn't it nighttime, what the heck) just sauntering up, looking amused.]

You know, you should pick one of those up. They look gorgeous when viewed up close.

[flared]

[Kind of hard not to notice, dude. Axel doesn't look over, however, and keep staring down at the jellies while he pokes them.]

And have 'em attack your hand, right? Sounds pretty gorgeous to me.

If you pick them up the right way, then they won't attack or sting you.

[As if to prove himself, he reaches over with all the finesse of a man grabbing pearls with a chopstick and picks up a jelly by the corner of it's body without even a wince. He makes it look incredibly easy.]

See? Not too hard at all.

[flared]

[Axel watches as the guy picks up the jelly and then he raises a brow.]

Sure, but I don't think the jellies appreciate it.

[ Probably not. And while Ven won't prod at it, he'll join Axel at the shoreline, and look on at them curiously. ]

They look like stars in the dark, don't they? I've never seen one of these before.

[ He watches them a bit, then frowns. ]

Looks like they're stuck. I hope the tide'll wash them back home.

[Axel perks up when he hears that voice before he glances over his shoulder. Ah. Ven...]

Mm. Maybe most of them will go back home.

[The ones higher up on the shore, however, might not. He doesn't want to ruin Ven's hopes, though, so he keeps that bit to himself.]
