[ there's a bit of a commotion tonight, and many locals are talking about something happening up on the island. anyone curious enough to check it out would first notice a glowing shore to match a starry sky; it seems to be a type of jellyfish causing this.

immediately afterward they would undoubtedly see a very large boat having apparently docked itself on the shore. there's no captain in sight and it appears to be completely inoperable, so it's a full-blown mystery on how it arrived on the shore. it certainly doesn't look like a normal boat though— probably due to the fact that it is utterly decked out for a party.

there are streamers, balloons, and a whole lot of glitter on deck. there's even a large banner that reads:

on deck there are speakers blasting a nautical-style party music should dancing be your thing. nearby there's plenty of good food for the eating, along with a gratuitous amount of chapagne (with a non-alcoholic brand for the underage); a champagne tower can also be seen. party games are encouraged, and a few are even already set up (such as the large whale-themed piñata).

[Zuko is rather sullenly picking at some food off to himself, and really definitely needs to be harassed. The only reason he's here is because he lives on the island, and therefore can't avoid the ruckus. He might as well get some food out of it if he has to put up with it.]

[Those are some mighty interesting jellies. Jacob stands a few feet away, staring out at the lighted shore with a calm smile on his face.]

[Bother him?]

[Darkleer finally feels well enough to be venturing outside and, of course, he's heard about the island. So don't mind if you see a lone figure sitting down by the shore, watching the glowing jellyfish and sipping from a flask.]

[Flanking him are a pair of sleek mechanical greyhounds, pale glowing lines running along their frames. One has eyes and lines of red, and the other blue. They're keeping a watch out for any visitors, so don't expect to sneak up on him.]

[Link's gonna just, uh... stare at them. And poke them with the tip of a long stick. They're kind of pretty to look at, actually.]

[Now why would anyone try to sneak up on Darkleer? It's not like he wouldn't probably bodily slam anyone who tried that into the ocean or anything. Especially not if whoever was trying it was going for a hug or something. Which is totally not what Signless is doing here.]

[Nope, he's spotted the robotic dogs, including the one Dualscar shanked in the neck, apparently repaired, and he finds a piece of driftwood on the beach. He whistles softly under his breath and holds the wood out at his side, enticingly. Who wants the stick? Who wants to chase a stick?]

[Wow, he's so not dancing, but he is drinking champagne and watching other people have fun, and he's on the deck BECAUSE HE LIKES BEING ON BOATS, OKAY.

Bother him]

[Sollux is wondering the same thing, but from a slight distance]

What's that glowing?

[Sollux has made it as far as the beach, but he's well above the water line and casually not getting any closer to the water. He'll just be. Over here. Examining some trees.

Maybe going back down into the dome would be a good plan. Parties are lame. It totally doesn't have anything to do with being terrified of getting any closer to the ocean.]

[Well, he's never been up here before, and what better time to do that than now? Those glowing things look suspicious, though, so he'll be down by the shore curiously prodding a jelly with the tip of his boot. ...Maybe that isn't a good idea.]

[The red dog perks up immediately when it registers Signless on its scanners and starts to slowly wag its whip thin tail. The blue dog is a bit more slow and confused, but paying attention as well.]

[Needless to say, Darkleer notices. Immediately, he scowls.]

Stop that.

[There's a face he hasn't seen in a while. Axel's checking out the champagne tower when he spots Zuko nearby and decides to approach him.]

Anything decent?

[Even though he's skinnier than a twig, he likes food, loves it, really, but with the glowing jellyfish and all nearby he's not so sure on if he wants to eat anything yet. What if it's all radioactive?]

[Huh? Oh, it's that guy. At least Sollux's question was fairly polite.]

Some kind of sealife. Jellyfish, I believe.

Hm?

[The mismatched dogs watch Sollux carefully and quickly deem him not a threat. His similarity to the Psiioniic probably helps with that. As for Darkleer? His glasses seem a bit paler than what he normally has them set to- white, in fact, instead of the usual black- just to help him not be completely blind in the night time.]

I am. You are Sollux Captor, correct?

[Signless lowers the stick, but he doesn't drop it.]

Oh, come on, Darkleer, it's a party. Let the dogs have a little fun too.

I have no idea how you have done it, but you have caused some strange glitch in one of the dogs' programming. It is not supposed to act like a normal dog.
