so about that flyer...

[ there's a bit of a commotion tonight, and many locals are talking about something happening up on the island. anyone curious enough to check it out would first notice a glowing shore to match a starry sky; it seems to be a type of jellyfish causing this.

immediately afterward they would undoubtedly see a very large boat having apparently docked itself on the shore. there's no captain in sight and it appears to be completely inoperable, so it's a full-blown mystery on how it arrived on the shore. it certainly doesn't look like a normal boat though— probably due to the fact that it is utterly decked out for a party.

there are streamers, balloons, and a whole lot of glitter on deck. there's even a large banner that reads:

☆ HAVE FUN!!! ☆

on deck there are speakers blasting a nautical-style party music should dancing be your thing. nearby there's plenty of good food for the eating, along with a gratuitous amount of chapagne (with a non-alcoholic brand for the underage); a champagne tower can also be seen. party games are encouraged, and a few are even already set up (such as the large whale-themed piñata).

She's just going to stare at you and wonder how long it'll take you to notice her. She doesn't want to interrupt your work, after all!

[He's concentrating very hard, so it's some time before he finally catches wind of her scent! Spinning around excited, he runs up close and stops just short of tackling her, choosing instead to bump against her side.]

Arf, arf! Wuuf! [He's happy to see her. :3]

Hey! Keeping busy, huh?

[And then she glances back out at the glowing waves, and the jellyfish that he's been gently keeping at bay and off beach.]

[He nods, clearly in high spirits, though he sends a wistful glance toward the ship all the same. He can smell the food up there and knows it's probably wonderful... but this is important! He can take a break later to go party if he really wants to. Mom will probably swap jellyfish duties with him at some point.]

[Not if she's busy getting drunk, sob.

But oh man, his high spirits are definitely contagious. She's even feeling a little brave; so she gives him a grin before she starts hesitantly approaching the shore, in order to get a better look at these jellyfish.

Maybe she can help, too...]

[Shh, don't spoil his dreams.

Admittedly, he looks a little worried when she starts down. B-be careful, okay?]

[DON'T WORRY, SHE WILL.

...she's totally not afraid, I mean it's not like they're ghost jellies. Meagerly with her foot (cause she doesn't wanna touch them with her bare hands) she nudges one of them back into the current, seeing it squirm a bit, and then swim away.

...AW YEAH ONE JELLYFISH RESCUED OR SOMETHING aren't you proud of her--

She looks proud. Yes.]

Woof! [Aww, good job Yukari! Chibi is proud of you, too. :3]

[Well, she's going to assume you are, yes. And there is a grin on her face.]

Jeez, you're a lot faster than me, though.

[And now he looks proud of himself, mm-hmm!

...But then he gets a little sheepish, as he remembers he can "cheat" if his paws are feeling too numb from the being stung. Feeling obligated to demonstrate, he uses Waterspout to paint a safe path of water from the ocean, under the jellyfish, then back to the ocean again.]

Woah!

[She looks impressed with his feat, though she's shielding herself in the event that she gets wet.

Well, even more wet, that is.]

That's right. I almost forgot-- your mom could do that, too.

[Not to mention make flowers bloom. And all sorts of other cool stuff! So he inherited those abilities too...she eases up a bit, her hands returning to her sides and continues to watch his little demonstration.]

[His ears twitch upon hearing mention of his mom and he'll turn to look at Yukari, head tilted in that questioning way of his.

Speaking of his mom, have you seen her tonight?]

[She's oblivious at first, but she looks more alert when she sees his ears twitch, and she wants to know why. She tilts her head in return, thinking about what she'd just said--]

Hm? ...Your mom?

[Maybe he's asking about her.

--Now she's looking around the beach to see if she's found her way here...]

[sonlight]

[Ah, no such luck, even with him aiding her in scanning the beach. Chibi doesn't look like he minds though, tail starting to wag as he looks toward the boat.

If she's here, she's probably at the party!]

...Yeah, you're right. She's probably where the food is, huh?

[She laughs a bit, following his gaze to the boat.]

Did you wanna go see?

[sonlight]

Woof! [Yeah, let's go! It'll be fine if he takes a short break, right?]

[Totally fine!

So she'll lead him onto the boat; and she's not worried at all, because even if they don't find his mom, they're pretty much guaranteed to have a good time. c:]
