so about that flyer...

[ there's a bit of a commotion tonight, and many locals are talking about something happening up on the island. anyone curious enough to check it out would first notice a glowing shore to match a starry sky; it seems to be a type of jellyfish causing this.

immediately afterward they would undoubtedly see a very large boat having apparently docked itself on the shore. there's no captain in sight and it appears to be completely inoperable, so it's a full-blown mystery on how it arrived on the shore. it certainly doesn't look like a normal boat though— probably due to the fact that it is utterly decked out for a party.

there are streamers, balloons, and a whole lot of glitter on deck. there's even a large banner that reads:

☆ HAVE FUN!!! ☆

on deck there are speakers blasting a nautical-style party music should dancing be your thing. nearby there's plenty of good food for the eating, along with a gratuitous amount of chapagne (with a non-alcoholic brand for the underage); a champagne tower can also be seen. party games are encouraged, and a few are even already set up (such as the large whale-themed piñata).

[It took Roxas a little while to actually make it onto the boat. It's full of people and noise, and it makes him a little uneasy, but in the end his curiosity won out. Still, he doesn't exactly dive into things and instead finds his way to the food.]

[Yukari is already there, putting things onto her plate when she spots the head of familiar blonde hair.]

...Oh, hey. You made it.

[And he's just grabbing a plate when she greets him.]

Oh! Um, yeah. Figured I'd at least check it out. [And raid it for food, apparently.]

Not bad, right?

[She steps out of the way to allow him to pick what he wants to eat.]

Did you see the beach yet?

[He nods, picking out some food from the spread. He's not entirely sure what a lot of it is, but it smells all right.]

Yeah. I was out there for a while first.

It's gorgeous. [She seems glad that he got to see it; and the food is pretty good too. But then again, the food's pretty much always up to standard.]

...Ha, I guess they do some things right, after all.

I don't know much about parties, but- the view's nice.

[He takes a bite of something and mentally adds that the food is good, too.]

[It's okay, Roxas. Parties are an acquired taste.

But she nods--can't help but agree there, honestly--and seeing him take a bite of the food makes her do the same. It's quiet for a while, as she stares out at the glowing shore.

And then--]

Should we find some place to sit?

...that's probably a good idea.

[It would get them out of the way of anyone else going for food and just traffic in general. He looks around for a place to sit where they can look out at the beach and makes his way over.]

[Yukari follows, seeing that very same spot that luckily isn't taken by anyone else. A sort of nice look-out spot on the deck nearby, where there also seems to be some dancing going on.

...Ignoring that, she takes a seat, sighing as she sets down her plate in front of her. Quiet at first, as she listens to the music.]

[Roxas takes a seat with her, but he does notice something a little strange in her reaction. He looks out at the dancing and then back at her and wonders:]

You see someone you don't like?

Hm...?

[Taken aback by his question, she turns to face him, not quite realizing he'd been watching her--but then shakes her head.]

N-No, not really. Do you?

[Oh. Apparently he guessed wrong. He glances out again at her question, but he doesn't see Riku anywhere so he shakes his head.]

No, I don't think so.

[Well, Riku's a pretty big jerk, so she doesn't blame him--

Ahem. That is, she follows his gaze for a moment when he looks back out, contemplating silently. There were probably a few people she wouldn't be able to get along with at all--but all in all, she's impressed with herself for keeping her nose out of trouble for this long. It helps that the Coral hadn't brought anyone like Ikutsuki, she supposes.

Hm, but she simply shrugs.]

...How 'bout your friends? I assume you met up by now.

[At that Roxas smiles and nods.]

I saw Axel down by the beach.

Oh, yeah?

[Man, it's been ages since she's seen him. She doesn't really know why, but it is a big nostalgic, hearing his name--

She should definitely head over and see him later, if he's still around.]

He never struck me as much of a water person. [By which of course, she means, she's seen what he can do...

But then, she supposes you don't have to be swimming to enjoy the beach; especially not when it looks like that.]

He kind of isn't. But it's not like he went in or anything.

[Unwittingly voicing her thought, Roxas starts picking at some of the food on his plate.]

Didn't realize you knew him.

[Haa, yeah. She figured that much, so she doesn't look surprised. But at the question, she lifts her shoulders into a bit of a shrug.]

Not super well. It's been months...and I don't think he remembers me anymore.

[He'd left and come back and...

Yeah. She pretty much is assuming...that he doesn't.]

Oh... You mean, you knew him when he was here before.

[His smile fades. He's learned by now that he's been here before, too, and he doesn't like the idea of forgetting.]

...Oh. [That would be a 'yes' reaction. She doesn't like the idea of possibly forgetting all of a sudden, either.]

Um, I guess...someone told you?

[that those kinds of things happen--]

I've heard from a couple people now. It's- weird how people just kind of take it in stride.

It kind of is. But...I don't think anyone's okay with it at first.

[being forgotten hurts.]

It's just kind of something you have to accept, like being trapped here. And it's not like yelling and screaming at them will make 'em remember you, anyways...

[Ultimately, it's not their fault.]

[Roxas gives a wry smile.]

I guess some people still hope they can jog your memory that way. Can't say I blame them.

[She looks contemplative at that. She wonders if that kind of thing really worked--

Heh. But she's pretty doubtful.

If it really is like some form of amnesia, only familiarity would work.]

Did he remember you?

[Just checking.]

Huh?

O-of course he does.

[The idea of Axel forgetting him... it's a little scary. He can only imagine how much it sucked for Axel when it was the other way around.]
