If anyone actually wanders up there, they will find the whole village decorated with strings of light, fish shaped lanterns, streamers, and kelp. Just past the North edge of the Village was a fair.

There was a large stage in the center of the fair, rides, a fortune teller, contests, games, a petting zoo, a fish exhibit, stalls, booths and everything else you can find at a fair.

But it's so... greasy. How can anyone stomach something like that?

[ But then, N grew up very differently from most people his age. Hilda sighs, then smiles up at him. She really wants him to try new things, but she doesn't want to rush him or force him into it. ]

Do you want to go home, get some lunch there and come back? I'll go with you.

... no. That's alright. We're here to have fun, aren't we?

[N you just told Rarity not that long ago that you don't even know HOW to have fun.

Outside of math. And Ferris wheels.]

I don't need to eat anything...

Well, yeah, but we can go home and get some food and then come back and have more fun. We do have that option, N.

That doesn't seem efficient. If we leave it will take more time to get the food and bring it back, than if we just get something here.

[Sorry Hilda he's being stubborn now]

... is there anything that isn't meat?

Well, okay. If you're really okay with it, we'll stay.

[ Hilda's okay with it either way. She looks around at all of the food stands, and finally points at one. ]

That one sells Pizza ... maybe we can get a slice of it with only cheese on it for you? It's still pretty greasy, but they seem to be keeping in line with traditional festival food in some way. It's bound to be like that.

Cheese pizza? ... I guess I can try that.

[If nothing else he can eat a little of it, so he's not so hungry.]

We'll both get a slice! Come on, let's go over there and get some.

[ She grabs his hand (without thinking, admittedly), and starts to tug him over to the stand selling pizza. ]

[Oop, dragged. N isn't about to protest this, though, and he follows her quietly, hoping she'll order because he has no idea what he's asking for.]

[ She does order for both of them, and they receive their pizza slices pretty quickly. She hands N's slice to him and watches him to see what sort of reaction he gives out. ]

[He still seems rather dubious over the whole thing, but he eventually tries a bite, eating slowly before making a decision.]

... it's not bad. Still greasy, but I don't mind it so much.

[ She smiles and leads them over to a table. ]

I figured it may be easier on you than a lot of the food here. They deep-fry everything to oblivion at festivals and carnivals ...

Is there a reason for that? It seems terribly unhealthy.

[He follows her like a puppy to the table and sits down, taking another bite of the pizza.]

I don't know. It just seems customary at these sorts of events. They sell similar food at the amusement park in Nimbasa, too ... though considering Ms. Elesa is a bigger influence there than anywhere, there's also way more alternatives for the people who really don't want to eat greasy carnival food. A lot of people enjoy it, though. I guess it's kind of a rare treat for them. I can't imagine living off of things like this at all.

[ She takes a bite of her own pizza. ]

I wouldn't want to. It would make me sick to have this more than once, I think...

[But reminding him of Nimbasa City urges him to bring up something]

... there's a Ferris wheel here.

[ Yes, she knew of the Ferris Wheel. She smiles at N happily. ]

Do you want to go on the Ferris Wheel?

[There was no verbal answer from N, just a nod as he ate his pizza. At least the idea of going on a Ferris Wheel again made him marginally more happy than he had been.]

[ It was amazing, seeing how happy just the idea of going on a Ferris Wheel made him. Hilda giggled, then nodded. ]

Okay, we'll go to the Ferris Wheel after lunch.

[ omnomnom Pizza! ]

[Yup. Happy N is happy.]

[ She finishes her pizza and waits for N to finish before heading to the Ferris Wheel. ]

[N finishes not long after her, eating the whole thing without complaint.]

[ She stands up and holds out her hand to him again. ]

[And he will accept that hand, so they can go off to the Ferris wheel together!]
