[It is weird, yes, but weird in a good way.]

[ And now she's going to awkwardly hold his hand while waiting in line for the ferris wheel. Uhhh ... now that that's happened, what do? ]

N. We've got to move again.

[MOVING NOW]

Turns out she didn't have to think too hard. Her mouth went way ahead of her brain on this one. ]
I remember the last time we were on a Ferris Wheel together ...
[ .... was this a good thing to talk about? Back then, they were technically enemies. ]
no subject
[That had been a difficult time for both of them, but N never regretted the decision to tell Hilda the truth that day.]
I think this will be better than that day.
no subject
I think so, too. No big reveals this time, hm?
no subject
[Hey they can finally get on]
no subject
No, I don't have one. Looks like our ride will be completely free of big reveals.
no subject
[N lets go of her hand to get in, but holds it back out again to help her in.]
no subject
... She's not sure what that is. Hilda's going to chalk it up to being happy that he trusts her as much as he seems to.
She takes his hand and steps inside of the car, taking a seat on the side of the car opposite of him and looking out the window. It was a bit awkward to keep holding his hand at this point, so she let it go ... albeit reluctantly. ]
It should be. I wonder how much of Vatheon we'll be able to see from way up high?
no subject
[For N, he's more surprised that he's able to focus on the conversation more than the movement of the Ferris wheel. But every time he's been with Hilda on one, that's been the case.
She certainly brings out a different side of him...]
no subject
[ She slides a little closer to the window and stares out of it as their car starts to rise into the air. ]
no subject
Of course this being the festival, the Ferris Wheel is on the island as opposed to down below, but once it raises high enough, quite a bit of the island and the festivities below can be seen, and beyond that under the water, the bubble barrier and the city within.]
Wow...
no subject
It looks amazing down there ....
[ The words came out on that breath she let out, which gave her voice a much softer tone than it normally would have been. ]
no subject
[N's voice was the same hushed tone, and without even really thinking about it, his hand reached out, fingers wrapping around hers again gently.]
no subject
Hilda wasn't thinking about that, though. All she could do was look down at Vatheon from where they were on the ferris wheel and think of how beautiful it all was. ]
no subject
The wheel paused with their car at the top, letting them look down at it all in relative stillness rather than movement.]
no subject
Hilda wasn't sure why, but ... something about seeing this world all at once like this only made the fact that she may never return to her own world hit home. Her vision began to blur only moments later, and it brought the realization to her that she had started crying. She was silent about it, tears streaming down her cheeks as she continued to stare out the window.
She didn't know why it had hit her so hard at that point. She had been traveling and away from her home for the past year. She thought she had shaken being homesick ... maybe it was the realization that for the first time in that year, she was now in a place where she couldn't eventually just fly home if she wanted to go.
This could have definitely hit her at a better time, though ... she didn't want to cry in front of N. ]
no subject
... Hilda?
no subject
I-I'm okay. Really.
no subject
Are you homesick?
no subject
She's quiet for several moments, but then, she slumps a bit and nods. ]
I used to be able to just fly home whenever I felt like I wanted to go home ...
no subject
[He knew that wouldn't be much comfort for her, but there was little else he could offer her.]
