Who: Izaya and whoever wants to interact
Where: Plaza. Probably near the elevator.
When: Evening about.
Style: Action. Because.
Status: Open
[It's not that unusual to see Izaya looking happy. It's just unusual to see him lugging so much shit with him. Okay, it's not a lot, but by his standard- it's too much.
There's a telescope slung around his shoulder, a blanket under the other arm, and then a basket filled with who knows what, probably heads of dullahans or something, in his spare hand.
He's peering up at the bubble as he makes his way towards the elevator.
When. Oh no. A book that had been crammed into the top of the basket topples out. The tragedy.
But look.
Izaya keeps walking. Wow, his attention must be elsewhere pretty intense. And what is that book anyway? It looks weird. Are those instructions on human sacrifice------!!!
Actually it's just a fairy tale. But who can read kanji anyway? Aw look at the fairies-]

brb lolling because there IS a "prophet" type, Izaya is totes right
He's on his way back from visiting when he sees Izaya drop a book and keep on walking. Ion picks it up, trotting to keep up with him.]
You dropped this!
Izaya is always right. HE IS A PROPHET TOO YANNO. Just. Not the good kind.
Hell, he hadn't even noticed that Sola had moved out. Although that would change soon enough.
Izaya hears Ion trotting after him and slows down to a stop. Oh. He smiles instantly.]
Ion. [You're so sweet. He takes the book from his roommate.]
Thanks. I would have been pretty upset if I had lost that. What are you doing out so late?
[He can spare a minute or two to converse, right?]

And stops. He stares for a moment because-]
Is that mine? [Oh look, it is. He frowns and walks over to the guy.] Ahhh. Thanks!
[The joy. The sheer excitement. He snatches the book back and grins joyously.]
I feel so irresponsible. Nya. Clumsy.
They never go out of style
They're the right jacket for every man, woman, and child

At least until he notices a certain informant struggling with a giant pile of crap. He traces Izaya's steps and picks up the book he left on the ground, observing the title on its spine.
Human Sacrifice....
Well, it's not the worst thing he's ever caught Izaya with. Nonetheless, a raised eyebrow meets the informant at the elevator doors.]
Big plans tonight?
no subject
You bet. I plan on watching the end of the world. Front row seat.
[He pats the telescope but then his smile cracks into something a bit wider.]
Actually. Just looking for familiar constellations. Oh. Hey.
[Pointing to the book.]
That's mine. Are you trying to steal from me, Shinra? That's awful of you. [Pouting because how could you do that to such an innocent fellow?]

He has been spending a lot of time out and about - keeping his mind off of his empty apartment by trying to stay busy. After spending his Friday all around Vatheon, Shizuo is finishing off a cigarette and heading home, when he catches sight of Izaya. It's a little weird, randomly - rather than intentionally - running into his boyfriend, especially since Izaya seems to be busy and absorbed in his activity. Shizuo might have let him go about his way without saying anything, since he is so focused, but then Izaya drops the book.
Shizuo discards his cigarette, walks over, and picks the book up. He doesn't bother glancing down at it, not being interested in books in general and also knowing better than to pry in whatever it is Izaya is doing.]
Hey. You're dropping things.
no subject
Thanks, Shizu-chan.
[He takes the book from Shizuo and carefully wedges it back into the basket. Yeah. So.
Dropping the basket and blanket carelessly onto the ground, he throws his arms up and around Shizuo's neck and forces them into this rather compact and over-the-top hug that really wasn't necessary since it hadn't been that long since they last saw each other.
But. Izaya also. Feels comfortable enough to finally do this. So he's just going to cling onto a tight hold here.]
Nnn! Shizu-chan looks so handsome tonight. What are you up to anyway? Taking a luxurious stroll through the city at such a late hour?
[He's actually not prying. He's just sort of making light conversation. While...Hanging off of Shizuo. Whatever. Shizuo can support the weight.]

He remembers that human boy of course. It was a wonderful to be lugged all the way to a strangers house and treated like a pet for a while. He wouldn't like to be treated like one again but if he changed forms it might just happen. Still, the vampire king just noticed the fallen book.
He wondered what kind of book it was. The human did provide him with useful information. He could at least return the favour by giving back the fallen book....well maybe. He looked at it for a moment before he picks it up. Lucky that during hsi time the language wasn't really well known...he couldn't read it.
Well that's a first. ]
Hey...kid.
no subject
He blinks a few times regardless because he honestly doesn't know when the last time he was called a kid.]
Hn, I'm not that young. But thanks.
[He'll take it as a compliment and offer something of a grin- that's when he notices his book.]
Oh-
[Approaching the king now, an easy smile on his face because he's just in that kind of mood. He takes the book from him and instantly bows slightly.]
Thank you. I'm surprised I dropped something. That's pretty uncharacteristic of me. How embarrassing.
[His eyes flick to the man and he looks him over briefly. He has a sensation of nostalgia that he can't quite place.]

Because really, a telescope is way better than a book, right?
Yukki stares, unintentionally of course, at the large item which hung against his shoulder; eyes clearly interested at the content. For when there was a telescope, there were also stars involved, and boy did he love looking at some stars! ]
Um...? [ Only slightly hesitant at first, but there was nothing that was going to stop him from finding out-!! ] That's a lot of stuff you have there. Are you planning to watch to the stars? [ Can you hear the excitement in his voice? ]
no subject
Oh wait. That's okay because Izaya probably didn't actually give much of a damn about that book anyway. Screw the past! Live in the future.
Of star gazing.]
Hm? [Teenage boy? Unfamiliar face? Izaya stops completely and stares at him for a prolonged moment. He doesn't recognize you.]
Oh, this? [The telescope?] No, I was going to build a boat with it.
[Can you hear the sarcasm in his voice?
No but seriously. WICKED ENTHUSIASTIC SMILE. And maybe even a chuckle that could be considered friendly.]
No, no, I'm kidding. Yeah! I'm popping up onto the island to get a look around at the galaxy we're stuck in. I'm not great with constellations or anything but I figured I could try it out, right? I've been meaning to pick up a new hobby lately anyway....
[But he has sensed your interest, kid.] - Have you done much star gazing?

But what's more lovely is their friendship awyeahhhh]
Selphie! [The joy. He smiles.] Oh!! Thank you, Selphie. Nya that would've been so depressing to lose. I got that on Christmas.
[Along with a picture but the details are totally unnecessary. He takes it from her with a cheerful smile and asks:]
Have you ever read this book? Oh, uh, it's Peter Pan. In case you can't read kanji.

I am ALWAYS late for the party.
He'd been around, this one. Keeping to his business, keeping mum, going through his pudding cups and instant noodles as he mulled it all over and finally calling it quits to go wandering about town. He also refuses to move out. Why? When asked, he'd just say something about liking the fact he had a bed and a prince wasn't supposed to sleep outdoors.
But maybe old habits had him wandering about during nights like this when the apartment was too quiet.
So... have what seems to be the wrapper from around a meat bun squeezed into a ball hitting the back of your head, Izaya. ]
HEY!
It makes you super fashionable though
Yeah. Izaya was sort of wondering what was with the sudden possibility of losing his roommates. Oh wait, no he wasn't. When you make one of them jump from a building, that's sort of apart of the consequences.
....
He stops. Because did something just hit him? Narrowing his eyes, he snaps his head around to obliterate whoever just- oh. Laharl.
Yeah. Obliterating still. Dropping his things and- running- over. And when he gets to Laharl, he comes to a screeching halt and towers over him, a glint in his eyes.]
Laharl, that was pretty rude of you.
[He raises a hand to Laharl's face. Aw look, it's so cute and romantic- but then he flicks Laharl hard in the nose.]
You're living with me. Shouldn't you learn some manners?
;;; but the buffet's all empty.
No no I kept some just for you
;w; bb you take care of me so well.

He doesn't want to think of something like that.
While heading back, he spotted Izaya and seeing as he dropped the book, Ruca quickly approached him, calling:]
Mr. Orihara, your book!
no subject
Nya, Ruca! [You're such a considerate little guy. He snatches his book and that's when he notices-]
My, is that a sword!

He'd even started humming on his way back to the apartment but froze when he saw Izaya across the plaza making his merry way towards the elevator. His first instinct is to call out to him, say hello, see how things are, but he'd been warned several times now away from the informant with varying degrees of enmity. He refused to believe that Izaya was a bad person - he'd jumped too, after all - but troubled and bad influence had been said on more than one occasion.
So instead of calling out, Sola hastily hides behind the coral, peeking around it to at least see how Izaya is doing. He can do that much, right?
Only he's really not all that stealthy for someone made of shadows and magic...]
no subject
He puts down everything he's carrying one by one and sticks his hand into his pocket, fingers curling around his knife.
Just in case.]
It's pretty rude to sneak up on people, you know! Or watch them from afar. If you want to say hi, just say hi. I'm not mean.
[His voice is careful and light. After all, by now, he's come to realize that there's quite a few innocent creatures passing through Vatheon and not all of them mean danger. Just in case though...
That's when his eyes catch the coral. And-]

[Sorry. But uh. He's petting you. Again. This is going to just be a common occurrence with their relationship. Hope you like it.]

Fuck yeah they do
But you know, he's in his own world of wherever. So when the man is suddenly towering near him, Izaya comes to an instant halt and looks up, a curious look on his face.]
Ehhhh?
[Oh. The book. His eyes light up at once and he smiles.]
Oh! Heavy, thank you. [And taking the book back from him.] I would have been- ne? Are you going fishing?

HI I AM LATE but i couldn't resist
[And there's a very familiar face nearby picking up the book that had fallen out. Jacob smiles slightly as he walks to keep up with Izaya as to hand the book over to him.]
You dropped your book. You're a fan of fairy tales?
KSKFHJKDG LOVE LOVE LOVE YES
That and the last time they were together, it was a pretty serious ordeal and he can't help but feel a little lucky to have the guy.
Only a little.]
Jacob.
[Warm smile and oh look, you're getting crushed by Izaya in a tight and probably uncomfortable hug because he's still kind of holding everything.]
It's been a while! [Okay pulling back I guess because ...personal space. And. He takes his book back.]
Of course. I'm a fan of reading in general but I'm particularly fond of fairy tales. They're always very interesting. Do you know about Peter Pan?
