[It's not that unusual to see Izaya looking happy. It's just unusual to see him lugging so much shit with him. Okay, it's not a lot, but by his standard- it's too much.

There's a telescope slung around his shoulder, a blanket under the other arm, and then a basket filled with who knows what, probably heads of dullahans or something, in his spare hand.

He's peering up at the bubble as he makes his way towards the elevator.

When. Oh no. A book that had been crammed into the top of the basket topples out. The tragedy.

But look.

Izaya keeps walking. Wow, his attention must be elsewhere pretty intense. And what is that book anyway? It looks weird. Are those instructions on human sacrifice------!!!

Actually it's just a fairy tale. But who can read kanji anyway? Aw look at the fairies-]

[He drops the basket down just to look over at his stylish companion.]

[Give it to him. The telescope I mean. Yeah. Okay. Izaya takes it from him and pulls it open and shoves it down into the sand.]

[WHAT IS THAT FACE YOU'RE MAKING AT HIM!? It's kind of scary how quickly you can do that.

[It's a face he has perfected of course. And it obviously works because look who's decided to stay.

Orihara Izaya is totally irresistible.]

Awesome! [Oh you will have no regrets. He pulls you over to this blanket because it's sit-down time.

He sits down himself and lets go of Squall the moment he does so that he can instead dig through his basket of wondrous things. Oooooh the mystery.]

[Sitting down on the blanket, he just watches Izaya rifle through the basket. What could he be searching for?

In the meantime, Squall will just berate himself for how easily he lets people push him around sometimes.]

[Yeah. Real tough guy we got on our hands here. Watch out for the regal badass- oh no!

Izaya pulls out plenty of things. A lot of books, some wrapped up sandwiches, and a canister of some sort of drink

Of which he holds out to Squall.]

It's tea. It's really good. Try it.

[It's not poisoned. For once.]

[Taking the tea, he looks at the container for a moment before opening it and taking a drink.

He's more of a coffee guy, but he can appreciate a good tea when he tastes one.]

What kind is this?

It's the really horrible tasting kind. Just drink it.

[It's mostly sweet but it has a somewhat bitter after taste. But it does make one's throat feel pretty good.

Izaya can't be screwed twice to remember the name of the tea but it was a local brand. Not too horrible. Especially when sick or cold.]

What sort of tastes do you like anyway?

I don't really have preferences.

[He's going to take another gulp of this tea.]

I'll eat most things.

Everyone has preferences. That's a stupid thing to say. You're telling me that you've never had something that was particularly more delicious than something else?

[Sorry dude, you agreed on sitting down with him so this is what you get.]

I am.

[It's kind of true. He seriously can't think of anything that he likes more than anything else. Favorite foods were not really something he put much thought into. The cafeteria being loud and noisy didn't help him enjoy things very much.

If he's going to have to sit here and endure Izaya's company, he's going to be a completely stubborn asshole about it. Who's going to win this conversation?

[That's a big thing coming from someone like Izaya, dude, in case you haven't picked up on that. But no matter. He has things to do. He stands up and leaves the guy's side.

Aw, come on, he's not so bad if you've decided to stick around, huh? There must be some redeeming quality.

Anyway. He's just going to start actually using that telescope of his- peering around.]

Do you know anything about stars worth knowing?

[He's been called weird before. It was part of the person he made himself. Squall is weird. Squall is a cold and uncaring guy. That's what he wants.

Well, it was what he wanted back then.]

I get that a lot. You're weird yourself.

[He's not sure what that redeeming quality is yet. Maybe he's just curious.]

I don't know anything about stars.
