If anyone actually wanders up there, they will find the whole village decorated with strings of light, fish shaped lanterns, streamers, and kelp. Just past the North edge of the Village was a fair.

There was a large stage in the center of the fair, rides, a fortune teller, contests, games, a petting zoo, a fish exhibit, stalls, booths and everything else you can find at a fair.

Wandering around the fair this week, and I spent most of last week trying to hide. I have way too many secrets to be blurting them out to everyone who asks.

[Except she told Davesprite about them without a curse going on.]

Don't blame you. Not everybody needs to know you like pink dresses.

[He flashes briefly a teasing smile at her.]

Any rides you haven't gone on yet?

[She sticks her tongue out at Davesprite for a moment before responding.]

Actually, the rides are something I haven't done at all yet. Why, did you go on them?

Nope, not yet. You wanna join me on some, then?

Sure! I've been meaning to anyway, and it's more fun with a friend.

[She's curious about how Davesprite will ride the roller coaster without legs.]

Cool. Any preferences on where to start?

[That will be a fun experiment.]

[findsrisks]

[Well, if they're going to do this, they better dive right in.]

Let's go on the roller coaster.

A daring start.

[Not that he's complaining! Davesprite will keep pace with her on the way to the ride in question.]

Hopefully I won't go flying outta the car, but I'm not too worried if I do.

If you do fall out, at least you'll be able to land safely. But I bet you could wrap your tail around the bar for extra grip.

[Doop de doop, hopping in line for the roller coaster now.]

Probably. I think this thing is corporeal despite all looks to the contrary. Better to have a death grip on the bar than on you, though.

[findsrisks]

That would be good, if we both went flying out then you'd have to carry me to the ground.

[She's glancing down at the tail now.]

Have you ever tried to pick up anything with it?

On my honor, I promise I won't drop you.

[There's a pause. ]

Three years of being a sprite, and not once did I try that. I feel dumb, now.

[findsrisks]

Never? Not even once?

[Why no, she's not thinking about asking for a ride. Why would you even suspect that?]

Nope. Never occurred to me 'cause I always thought of it as like two legs fused together.

[He's going to need to experiment with that.]

[findsrisks]

Well, why not see if you can grab that rope there or something?

[She's pointing to one of the ropes that's used to keep people in line while they wait for the ride.]

[He considers it and then shrugs.]

Nah, I think I'll take my chances since I can fly and all. Plus, I got a feeling you'd keep me in my seat.

[findsrisks]

[She laughs a little at that.]
