If anyone actually wanders up there, they will find the whole village decorated with strings of light, fish shaped lanterns, streamers, and kelp. Just past the North edge of the Village was a fair.

Events

Pie eating Contest on Wednesday
Three-legged Race on Thursday
Karaoke Contest on Thursday
Chocobo Race on Friday
Host Club Date Auction on Friday
Concert by Marceline on Friday

There was a large stage in the center of the fair, rides, a fortune teller, contests, games, a petting zoo, a fish exhibit, stalls, booths and everything else you can find at a fair.

[He gets to the end of the game, or rather the cut-of point after level 255. Yeah, he's been at it awhile. The screen glitches as expected and he collects his winnings and enters his name "LEO" in for the new top score.]

You want to give it a go? [He steps away from the machine, shoving his winnings into a baggie and dropping it into his tool belt. He then holds out his hand for the guy to shake. Something about the things he said made him think the guy wouldn't know how to fistbump. There was a chance he was wrong, but after the awkward fist shake he got from Darkleer, it was a safe bet to go for the shake.] The name's Leo.

[Jet was actually pretty impressed, even Joe wasn't that good at video games.

When the guy offers his hand, Jet smirks and shakes it.]

Jet. Yeah, I'll give it a shot, don't expect any fireworks, though, video games aren't really my strong point.

[But damn were they fun and even a little addicting. How many times had Frannie had to stand in front of the screen just to get the boys' attention?

The game starts over and instantly Jet's not sure what he's supposed to be doing.]

Eh...so, what, he's just supposed to eat those dots? What about the jellyfish?

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-06 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Leo could sense all the metal and wiring inside Jet when they shook hands. He wanted to ask a million questions about that, but it could wait. He didn't want to bombard the guy with questions within minutes of meeting.]

Yeah, you eat the white dots and the pieces of kelp turn the jellyfish green. When they go green you can eat them for bonus points, too.
fallenstar: (Look up)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-09 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Huh...

[He gives it a try for a bit but it really doesn't take all that long for him to use up all of the oyster guy's lives. He still sucks at video games.]

Yeah, that figures. Even the video games here aren't really for me.

Thanks for letting me try it.

[It's less fun when it's just you anyway.]
fundemetal: (37)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-09 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Leo hasn't seen anyone fail that bad at it.]

No problem. There's some other games that are less video and more action. Like skee ball. That might be more your speed.
fallenstar: (Left staring)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-09 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
[He was born in the sixties, cut him some slack.

The mention of skee ball catches his attention, however.]

Oh, I know that one! I never played it myself, but some guys told me about it who had.

[You know, back when it was still sort of new...]

It always sounded like it could be fun.
fundemetal: (29)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-09 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
[Scrutinizing gaze.]

Why haven't you played these games if you know what they are? Pretty much every kid my age and older did. Does it have something to do with all that metal and wiring in you? I wasn't going to say anything about it yet. But I noticed when we shook hands.
fallenstar: (Glare)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
[His expression goes from surprised to suspicious.]

What does that mean? How do you know about that?
Are you a cyborg too?

[And then an internal wince because he definitely just gave it away by saying it himself. Stupid.]
fundemetal: (42)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-10 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
A cyborg, huh? Cool. [Leo's eyes are sparkling - as much as eyes can actually sparkle. This is some super cool stuff right here.]

Oh. No, I'm not one. I'm... it's one of my "powers" or something. I can sense machines and things like that. If we weren't surrounded by a bunch, I probably would have picked up on it before I shook your hand.
fallenstar: (Hesitent | Blushy)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-11 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Powers and not a cyborg? That's just weird, still the cat was out of the bag now, there was no point denying it really.

He shrugs.]

Well, I'm not a machine, but I guess that makes sense.

And..yeah, it's got something to do with that. It's complicated. My friend's tried to show me some video games, but they're newer than these and I never got a chance to try ones like this.

My turn. If you're not a cyborg, how do you have powers?
fundemetal: (16)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-11 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Leo nods.]

I'm a demigod. Half mortal, half Greek god. My dad Hephaestus is the god of fire, forges, blacksmiths, technology, craftsmen, sculptors and volcanoes. So that's where my powers come from.
fallenstar: (Unsure)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-13 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[He smirked a bit at that.]

The last time I met people calling themselves gods or demigods, they were cyborgs too who'd been brainwashed into thinking they were Greek gods.
I'll trust you're not one of those though, since that was a special circumstance.

Does this 'way with machines' include being able to fix them?
fundemetal: (02)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-14 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I'm definitely not a cyborg.

I can fix them or build them from scratch. [Confident smile. With actual confidence. Not the manufactured kind.]
fallenstar: (A peaceful day)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-15 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah? So you think you'd be able to handle mechanics that act as organic things or are even mixed with organic things?

Hypothetically.

[Not that he didn't trust Dirk, but what if something happened and Dirk couldn't help him? It wasn't such a bad thing to have options when it came to repairs, right? Especially with how prone Jet himself was to finding exactly the wrong place to stand in a fight.]
fundemetal: (09)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-16 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Making something that acts organically would be a small challenge. But I could do it. I'm not sure about the mixed part. I've never tried working with anything that wasn't fully mechanical or inanimate. And I'm not a surgeon. [He pauses to think. After a moment he looks like a light bulb has gone off over his head.] But I think I know just the guy - or rather troll - that has lots of experience with it.
fallenstar: (Peaceful smile)

[personal profile] fallenstar 2013-06-17 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm only curious cause sometimes parts go wrong and the guy I usually turn to isn't here. I don't even know if he'll ever show up either, so I need options.

What's this other guy's name? And...what's a 'troll?'
fundemetal: (43)

[personal profile] fundemetal 2013-06-18 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
There's a lot of people here that are good with mechanical things. I don't think you'll find any shortage of help if it's needed.

His name's Equius. And a troll is an alien with grey skin and candy corn colored horns. There's a bunch of them here. They're a little hard to miss. I'm sure you'll meet one soon enough.
