If anyone actually wanders up there, they will find the whole village decorated with strings of light, fish shaped lanterns, streamers, and kelp. Just past the North edge of the Village was a fair.

There was a large stage in the center of the fair, rides, a fortune teller, contests, games, a petting zoo, a fish exhibit, stalls, booths and everything else you can find at a fair.

You'll get it, if you practice more. Stuff like this takes a lot of practice to get right, but it's worth it.

Cool. I'll let you pick which game, too. I've played all of them at least once.

[He takes his last shots, which are not enough to get him past the first round. Yeah, he kind of sucks at this game.]

[Nanaki just barely gets enough to get an octopus, so she's not going to press her luck with another round. She'll just take her prize and they can be on their way.]

I have to admit, the only game I was ever any good at was an MMO.

Was it a shooter or more strategy oriented? [Depending on her answer he'll find them a game to play at the arcade.]

It actually involved making contracts with demons and fighting other demons.

[An MMO with demon contracts fighting demons? Gee sounds familiar.]

Huh. That sounds like it could be interesting. Didn't see anything of that sort in the arcade, but there's a zombie merpeople game there. It's a shooter.

[It's totally a knockoff of SMT online because the mun does not know what MMOs would be popular in Japan that's how she rolls.

And oh god the memories of the zombie merpeople. It is just too much.]

They actually made a game out of that?

[Thought as much. I played that back when it was in beta.]

Yeah. It's pretty fun. Played it a bit.

[Instead of sounding interested, Nanaki sounds grossed out. She still remembers those stupid zombie mermaids and having to fight them with tweedle-dee and tweedle-dumbass.]

Auuuugh! They were so gross! I still remember that smell, it practically burned out my nostrils!

[She's forgetting that Leo just arrived, and thus was spared the RPG curse.]

Uh... what are you talking about?

[LMFAO. I didn't even realize that was part of the RPG curse. I just made shit up that sounded like a fun game.]

A couple months back there was this curse where everything was like it is in an RPG. One of the monsters we had to fight was zombie mermaids.

[That sure is a coincidence, but it still brings up horrible memories for Nanaki.]

And the worst part? I ended up being some kind of hand-to-hand fighter/magic-user combo so I had to punch the stupid things.

Yeah, heard a little about that curse. Just not the mermaids part of it.

[Poor Nanaki.]

You couldn't use any weapons?

I think my fists were weapons, actually. I can already hit pretty hard, but I was knocking monsters across rooms during that curse. Plus it was magic, so every punch had fire too.

Fire punches? Done a few of those myself. We could play a different game. There's some skee ball?

[findsrisks]

Skee ball? Sure, let's do that. I haven't played that in ages.

[She's not too great at that game, but it's a fun one at least.]

Cool.

[They walk over to the arcade and find two skee ball machines next to each other.]

[And it's time for a skeetball-off! Though all of Nanaki's end up in the 1000 point ring, except for one which bounces up one more level and gets her 2000 points.]

[Leo manages to get most of them up in the second ring and a few in the third and fourth rings.]

Best two out of three? I'm sure you could do better.

[findsrisks]

Definitely, I know I can at least do better than this.

[She's more focused during the second game, taking her time to line up the shots better. Most still go in the first ring, but three go in the second, and she gets one in the fourth by some miracle.]

Cool. [thumbs up.]

[He does about as good as he did last time.]

[He definitely beats her, then.]

Not again! Come on, best three out of five.

[He laughs.]

Sure thing. But I'm not going to hold back.

[His third game goes a bit like the first two, though he gets a few more in the third ring this time.]

[It's still way more than Nanaki gets.

In fact in her frustration she accidentally rolls a ball so hard and at just the right angle that it jumps the track and ends up on Leo's scoreboard somehow.]
