[ Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen of Vatheon— whatever your newfound stature may be, Prince, Princess, Knight, or Peasant, you will all receive a message on your SFC on the eve of Saturday regardless:

You are cordially invited to the castle for this evening's ball. In addition, you are all welcome to try and solve the riddle if it fancies you. It just may break the curse!

The invitation is unsigned, but its intentions are clear. Maybe you hadn't quite noticed the sizeable castle in the distance of the city that had sprung up, but this message would surely garner your attention toward it now.

Should you arrive at the castle, plenty of attractions await you:

Ballroom ❧ A very large and beautiful ballroom is lighted up, complete with a playing violin orchestra. While the curtains will be drawn during this event, there is a windowed view and exit on one side of the ballroom that leads to:

Smee's Rose Garden ❧ A broad and colorful spanse of a garden, complete with many paths and turns. Plenty of roses are arranged in great arches, which provide perfect little places should you need some privacy with your sweetheart. Anyone familiar will even tell you that the garden was purposefully designed for just that sort of thing.

The Riddle ❧ There is an inscription located on a noticeable plaque set in one of the garden's benches. It reads:

Two are necessary to break this curse
Riled up, upset, what kind of love?
Only this kiss will stop it from getting worse.
Look for a winged one is push comes to shove,
Look for a glance slightly dark,
Search for a pair in reluctant love.
One answers a call; that's your mark;
One longs for patria though adverse.

Dining Hall ❧ Connected to the ballroom is an extremely long hall that stretches as far as the eye can see, elegantly arranged as the dining area. Expensive and exquisite cuisine seem to be on the menu— try something new? Chances are you won't be eating from a selection such as this again anytime soon!

Dais ❧ There is a noticeable raised dais that is easily visible via any area within the ballroom. It's locked off from guests, though— what is it for...?

[It's okay, at least she has legs, where as Eridan has had to come to master slithering about! He's not particularly interested in the ball either, stupid human party thing UGH. So the garden it is for him! It doesn't take him long to spot the dragon, and boy does he not recognize who it is at first. He's yet to see Feferi since the curse took over anyways, but instead of fleeing at the sight of such an impressive reptile, he comes closer. There's an air of familiarity, but he just hasn't placed it yet.]

[ She tilts her head at him, momentarily debating with herself, before she dips her head in to sniff at him. ]

I'd still like to see it. I can never go inside!

[ Normally she'd be jumping at a chance to tell him to knock off the high-and-mighty act, but she's still sore from the other week. She'd done just fine not talking to him, but having to face him again... ]

[He pauses, just staring at her a moment, but then he just awkwardly adverts his eyes from her and lets out a sigh.]

Alright, alright... Look, maybe we can find Kar or sssomethin' an' he can fix ya up an' you can go to the bloody ball.

[Maybe he was trying to ignore the fact there is still some tension between them, but he knows as much as he can try to put that fact on the back burner, it won't make it go away, won't change the fact that there IS that tension. He hates it. He just wants things to be normal between them again.]

[ Heaving a big sigh, she pulls her head back, resting them on her paws and not really looking at him anymore. ]

[He offers her a curious look, fins perking as if to emphasize it.]

[ She doesn't move her head, although her eyes flick back up to stares at him for a moment before she closes them. ]

I want to be your friend, Eridan. I really do. Just not right now. I got so excited that things might actually start to work out for us! The troll I always wanted for a moirail was a real thing!

It's going to be okay, I just need some time still.

[His fins droop considerably hearing that, and his look grows solemn. However, he understands, really he does. Despite how disappointed he is about this, he'll grant her that much. If she needs time, he'll give her time. Better than wasting effort on her if it'll do nothing anyway.]
