◣ Summer Fair ◢

If anyone actually wanders up there, they will find the whole village decorated with strings of light, fish shaped lanterns, streamers, and kelp. Just past the North edge of the Village was a fair.

There was a large stage in the center of the fair, rides, a fortune teller, contests, games, a petting zoo, a fish exhibit, stalls, booths and everything else you can find at a fair.

[Most boyish out of the HOMRA members here, anyway. He starts walking over to the line again, backwards so that he can still face her.]

[He should probably learn her name before going on the ferris wheel with her. It seems rude not to, somehow.]

Saber is certain she hasn't heard of demons that old in her own world. Perhaps his world is different in that regards, too. For 1313 to be only a young adult..

She's still quite perplexed by that, but she moves on.

"You look quite well for your age, then. I stopped aging at fourteen and am stuck at that physical state."

[He can pull whatever he wants. Kimblee is a butthead and started it by existing or something. Nyeh.

And still now answering. He has one left that isn't the one on the ground.

Removing the balloon from his belt loop. Not keeping this in case the other gets any more ideas about popping it. Is Kimblee sure it's worth any punishment he can deal?]

[ She holds out a hand for shaking. Also sorry Tatara, you're getting the 'Mr.' treatment for a while. Even if you're boyish, you still look older than her and that means you get the prefix. ]

[He's used to people calling him Totsuka-san who are less than 3 years younger, and basically his little brothers. That works. He shakes her hand.]

[And he looks up at the ferris wheel.]

It was a good way to see if the other would actually miss him.

Best ~~and dumbest~~ plan. Getting his prize, a Game Buoy, and just tying the balloon up to the side of the stand. Once it's secured, he's heading on to the next game.

Playing with a bow and arrows sounds like a terrific idea. He never needed to touch one before, but he's sure he can figure it out. ]

He arches an eyebrow when he starts heading over to the archery booth, but he's not questioning it. Go ahead and knock yourself out first, Vani! He'll just watch to see how it's done.]}

Normally Laharl would accept that and move on, but there's still one aspect of this discrepency that he's not getting. "But there was a queen..."

He only shrugs at her remark on his appearance, although it's a big improvement on people telling him he looks like a child. Then again, that'd be a little hypocritical. "Stuck? Why, did someone curse you or something?"

[Peony gestures to the podium with both hands, bowing at the waist and shuffling back. Ridiculous, but such is Peony.]

[He will resort to really childish methods to make him talk. Or just bite him.

He's picking up a bow and studying it. Don't watch Vanitas to see how it's done, Kimblee. He never needed to actually handle one. Pulling on the string and letting it snap.

Whoops. Ouch. Wincing as he pretty much managed to snap his fingers with the band.

Totally covering up that it might have hurt though. Kimblee saw nothing, right?

Snagging an arrow now to study. There was "instructions" on the side of the booth to show how it was done. How common was it to get injuries from this now?

Flexing his fingers before lining up the arrow. Rolling his shoulders a moment before trying to take aim. He is going to fail this terribly.]

There may or may not have been a slight flinch at the snap. The most experience he's had was a few lessons when he was younger. He can't exactly remember the reasons why, but he never cared for it too much. It's almost tempting to go up behind him and fix his posture, buuuuuuuut...

[Dave's just been wandering around with a light up starfish pillow under his arm, he went through all that trouble and they were out of the x-bass systems. The pillow was cooler than the turtle or the shark at least. There really wasn't much he could do, he'd tried all the games that involved aiming only to discover that his skills were definitely more in close combat than ranged. It was downright embarrassing and he hoped no one saw how badly he sucked.

But he stops when he sees Jade totally owning, and of course she would. This is kind of cheating really, but she seems to be having fun either way.]

You know, you could put all of these booths out of business, no sweat.

[The day when Dave Strider realizes there's something he can't do. Close combat is easy, ranged has never been important and therefore unnecessary to learn. Except when you're at a festival and most of the games involve aiming and throwing shit. He likes to think he's tough shit and can get all this easily. But after failing pretty damned bad at Sling Shot, Darts, and not even wanting to think about the Archery incident, he went for the last choice. Which because squirt guns were too easy, left only the chicken run.

It was easy, way too easy really. Those chickens don't stand a chance against him, he's totally got this shit.]

[He's probably going to injure his shoulders and elbow, but good luck with getting him to share.

And there goes the arrow. It misses the mark by quite a bit. And he's rolling his shoulders. He really needs to broaden his work out to something more than lifting and keyblade swinging.

He sighs softly and places his hand on his shoulder with a small squeeze, silently telling him to stay. Once he's situated behind him, he moves his hands to Vani's arms so he could position them better, then he's using his foot to fix the way he stands.]}

[His expression goes from surprised to suspicious.]

[He didn't say the other could touch him. Freezing up for a moment, but soon relaxing. It was Kimblee. Even if he was wary because of other things, the other still had a lot of power over him. It was stupid and frustrating.

Allowing him to adjust his stance as he listened.

To show he understood, he was going to do exactly as instructed. And letting it go!

At least it hit the target, but it was no bulls-eye.]

_{[And then he's untangling himself from the other to pick up his own bow so he could take a crack at it. It's different than instructing someone how to shoot, that's for sure--he needs to adjust his aim more than once before he takes in a breath, then fires.
