It's an Age-Old Tale...

[Welcome to the curse, Vatheonites. Welcome to the fairy tale.

And with the tale, the world has changed. Nothing remains of the city that once was; now there are fantastical and crazy things, things that would be only found in books--and yet here they are.

There are a few places of note, however. A few places that might draw the intrepid adventurer, the curious.

To begin--

The Forest-- here can be found...well, trees. But other than trees, there are fairies, and curious shadows and eyes and things hiding where you do not want things to hide. Overall, it's not very safe anymore! Wolves might be on the prowl, mystical creatures that think that you sure do look a lot like lunch. And hidden deep within the forest in a system of sprawling caves lurks a dragon. Sitting on a pile of golden treasure.

The princess can be found there. Sure hope the dragon isn't sitting on her, whoops.

The Pirate Ship-- this one is much more straightforward. Namely, that there are pirates and they're out for your blood. But the ship itself is winding and filled with (empty) treasure chests and nasty sea critters that are, surprise surprise, also out for your blood. You might have to fight a pirate chief to save the princess in this labyrinth.

The Briar Patch/Towers-- where the carnival once stood there are now a couple of ominous towers, empty or filled with scuttling, skittery creatures or perhaps an unlucky slumbering foreigner. There are nasty thorns growing all over, but maybe if you're careful you can break through and find the one tower that houses the witch. Be careful--she has spells to throw at you. But she's also guarding another princess, so maybe it's worth the fight and...the flying monkeys.

The meadow-- deep in the lower district there is now a large meadow. Looks harmless, right? Only if you venture too far in, you will come across what look to be...monsters? Monsters of all shapes and sizes, vicious and ready to kill...except they're just illusions. The illusions get more and more real the closer you get to the center of the meadow, however. Some of them might even be able to actually bite, so be careful. Deep in the meadow there is a unicorn who is holding a poor princess captive. Can anyone rescue them?

Anyone is welcome to make a thread--princesses or princes or average Vatheonite pixie! Threadjack, have fun, be creative! Just remember that only the princesses' ~one true love~ will succeed...but everyone is welcome to give it a shot.]

[I don't know about that tree moving, but deep in the cave there's quite a bit going on. Namely, one of the princesses has been kidnapped and boy, she isn't too happy about it. Who knew dragon caves were so boring?

As it turns out that this princess happens to be a dragon herself! Care to try and save Rhi'a, oh wonderful prince?]

[Serph and Cielo are looking for the lake in the forest. Both of them are sizeable creatures, large enough and strong enough for a fully armoured person to ride them. But the forest is an unfriendly place, and while the two of them are experienced at working together to take down opponents -- aggressive creatures they've never seen before -- they've nevertheless taken some injuries.

They need to rest, and Serph thinks its best if they lick their wounds where there's shelter; being out in the open is just asking for more animals to attack them. So it's with some caution he peers into the cave, and not seeing or hearing anything amiss, drags himself inside.]

[James happens to see the lamp as he's exploring. At least he'd not bored any more. It looks a bit dirty so he rubs it with his robe and it shines!]

[And now there is a Big Bad Wolf tripping over said lamp. If Severus had definable eyebrows in his wolf-ish form one would be raised at that moment. As it is, he stares at the object a bit before picking it up and shaking it.]

[Sola really looks much the same as always, though the sword and shield shine brightly instead of a shadowy black and the tunic is worn over a shirt of mail rings with the insignia of the Hylian crest emblazoned upon his cape.

Right, he wears a cape now. Capes are cool.

Currently, though, the cape is causing him some trouble in getting snagged on branches left and right. With a tug, he frees himself, stumbling a bit and letting out a quiet huff. He doesn't have time to be wrestling with trees!

THE FOREST - The Big Bad Lombax

[Deep within the forest is a monster. This monster is lurking deep within the shadows, watching and waiting for his prey. Little Red or something close. He licks his furry lips and he stalks through the trees, green eyes almost glowing in the darkness. Here he comes, Red. He'll find you.

Or maybe he'll find someone else. He isn't picky.]

[There's a strange creature just outside the forest, though it still has a familiar mark on its left cheek. With all those fins, Serph's clearly a creature made for the water, and he knows there's a lake in the forest, so that's where he'd been headed.

... But when he finally arrived at the forest, Serph found it looking pretty uninviting. And he's exhausted; around as he is is really tiring. His current form isn't really made for bipedal movement and the other option is moving around like a seal on land. Both are terrible for terrestial movement. So he's just... going to lie down on his belly right here and stare balefully at the forest. Yep.

But for now, he won't mind being bothered.]

[Of course Danny was the princess. Of course. Not that things made a whole lot of sense right now; things never made a lot of sense in Vatheon, but she hadn't been expecting to end up dressed as Jack the giant killer with a fancy little crown seated on her brow.

Okay. Prince. She could handle this.

Except she wasn't sure, exactly, how to handle a ship full of malicious ghosts without Danny's help - or a sack full of Fenton gear from home.]

[Oh look, it's a pirate ship. Dualscar isn't happy about his new lack of legs. Not happy at all.

Time to take out some frustrations on a handy object, and perhaps some innocent people. They're not real people, anyway. They're not even trolls. They're probably responsible for this in some way.

He pops up out of the water, just a bit, clinging to a handy rock, and begins to sing.]

[Well...he'd fallen asleep in his rabbit hole. And now he was outside a giant prickly bush. He was resting on an old log and picking at his 'costume'.]

[He glances back at the sound of a cackle, making a rather big show of shuddering.]

There's prolly no bobby pins wit dat giggle.

[ well, this was a new one. mostly because masamune's not used to being kidnapped. or a princess. in any way.

so just give him a second to adjust. and by "adjusting" it's really just tugging at a certain tiara and wondering why he can't bust himself out. ah, right, because he's a princess. ]

... Tch. Waiting around's not my style. [ obviously the best princess. ]

Dudes in Distress

[Up high, high in a tower that used to be a ferris wheel, there are two lovely damsels dudes in distress. One of them is in a dress and has shockingly long hair, the other is sound asleep. Brave heroes, dare you face the evil amusement park to rescue the damsels and free the Sleeping Guy from his cursed sleep?]

[He was pretty close to strangling someone. He'd gotten used to the new apartment, the weird coral thing and even the damn tattoo he'd gotten on his stomach. (The glowing was still weird but he could ignore that)

But somehow he'd ended up in medieval armor that looked more beat up then protective. Exploring the town hadn't help anything since it looked like he's walked onto a set.

Now he was standing at the edge of a meadow, helmet under his hand and trying to figure out just what the hell he was going to have to do now.]

[Zelos had smelled the scent of clover and honeysuckle from leagues away and it had made her mouth water. Now that she was among the fragrant bloom, she's quite contentedly grazing away, though there's a bit of a defeated air to her. It's not as if dandelions are a staple of the Chosen-turned-Unicorn's diet, but this body wants what it wants.]

[Perhaps you noticed it -- the moment the music on the air abruptly stopped.

Perhaps you saw the angry unicorn pass swift as the wind on its return to its lair, and caught a glimpse of a tiara and billowing sleeves: the flash of sea-green jewels; the shimmer of fine garments composed of pearlescent scales.

Perhaps you merely find the shamisen and bachi lying in the blooming wildflowers where they fell from the princess' grip.

Perhaps not. Regardless...

Beyond the monsters in the heart of the unicorn's lair, well and truly held captive, Motochika waits.

None too happy about this turn of events, he has already tried to rescue himself and failed. Yet there is dizzying magic in the air preventing his escape; all he has managed to do is twist his ankle and get nipped, solidifying the image of a helpless princess.

So Motochika sits, placid but for the defiant angle of his chin, and listens keenly for sounds of approach. He watches, steeling his patience against his injured pride, the indignity of his circumstances.

He does not like to be in need of rescue, but he has no choice.]

[Somewhere in the meadow, there was a tall figure draped in a magnificent red cloak with matching hood. Approach closer and you may find that she has a basket under her arm. But she seems lost as she wanders, not entirely sure where to go.]

[Tieria wasn't quite sure why he was here. But there was a young boy who looked a little like Setsuna standing there with him. They were in... robes? Wizarding robes? And, somehow, Tieria had a beard. A long white one.]
