It's an Age-Old Tale...

[Welcome to the curse, Vatheonites. Welcome to the fairy tale.

And with the tale, the world has changed. Nothing remains of the city that once was; now there are fantastical and crazy things, things that would be only found in books--and yet here they are.

There are a few places of note, however. A few places that might draw the intrepid adventurer, the curious.

To begin--

The Forest-- here can be found...well, trees. But other than trees, there are fairies, and curious shadows and eyes and things hiding where you do not want things to hide. Overall, it's not very safe anymore! Wolves might be on the prowl, mystical creatures that think that you sure do look a lot like lunch. And hidden deep within the forest in a system of sprawling caves lurks a dragon. Sitting on a pile of golden treasure.

The princess can be found there. Sure hope the dragon isn't sitting on her, whoops.

The Pirate Ship-- this one is much more straightforward. Namely, that there are pirates and they're out for your blood. But the ship itself is winding and filled with (empty) treasure chests and nasty sea critters that are, surprise surprise, also out for your blood. You might have to fight a pirate chief to save the princess in this labyrinth.

The Briar Patch/Towers-- where the carnival once stood there are now a couple of ominous towers, empty or filled with scuttling, skittery creatures or perhaps an unlucky slumbering foreigner. There are nasty thorns growing all over, but maybe if you're careful you can break through and find the one tower that houses the witch. Be careful--she has spells to throw at you. But she's also guarding another princess, so maybe it's worth the fight and...the flying monkeys.

The meadow-- deep in the lower district there is now a large meadow. Looks harmless, right? Only if you venture too far in, you will come across what look to be...monsters? Monsters of all shapes and sizes, vicious and ready to kill...except they're just illusions. The illusions get more and more real the closer you get to the center of the meadow, however. Some of them might even be able to actually bite, so be careful. Deep in the meadow there is a unicorn who is holding a poor princess captive. Can anyone rescue them?

Anyone is welcome to make a thread--princesses or princes or average Vatheonite pixie! Threadjack, have fun, be creative! Just remember that only the princesses' ~one true love~ will succeed...but everyone is welcome to give it a shot.]

[Now Shizuo is feeling guilty. He calms down a little, and sighs.]

I think. I don't know. Look, if it's really important to you...

[He came here with the purposes of rescuing someone, anyway.]

[Ion's leaning forward over Guy with his fists and eyes both closed tightly and... there. A kiss right on the forehead.]

Oh... he didn't wake up.

[Shizuo is very relieved to see Ion leaning over to kiss Guy so that he doesn't have to...but unfortunately the awkward quality of the moment isn't gone yet.]

Um. You should. Try the lips.

[Shizuo looks away.]

[fonmaster]

The lips?!

[Oh Guy, you're lucky Ion will go so far for his friends... He died for Tear, so why is kissing someone so much harder?! He leans over and kisses Guy quickly with a little squeak. Still nothing. Ion whines loudly.]

It didn't work!

Oh.

[Well. Then. Shizuo really has no idea.]

Sorry.

[He tries to think about any other things they can try.]

I can...carry him out of here for you. Since we can't wake him up.

We can wait for Sola if you don't want Shizuo's first kiss to get ganked~

[Ion's scowling darkly.]

It didn't work since I'm in distress, too! You do it!

I don't mind!

[Shizuo looks from Ion to Guy. He isn't sure if Ion is making sense or if he's just buying too deeply into the curse, but he gives in. He leans over Guy and places a very careful, chaste kiss on his lips, then steps back.]

There.

[He tries not to look as flustered as he feels.]

[fonmaster]

[And... still nothing. Ion's shoulders sag with defeat as he heads over to the window, lowering his long, long hair out.]

Sorry... here, you take Guy out of here like this. It'll be easier to climb down carrying someone if you use my hair.

Maybe he really does need a prince.

[Or maybe his curse is that he's forced to stay asleep. Either way, he's stuck. Shizuo hasn't come across any princes.

At the suggestion, Shizuo shakes his head.]

I'm not going to climb down your hair. What about you?

[fonmaster]

...eh?

[Ion... hadn't thought that far. Isn't climbing his hair only the natural thing to do?]

Well, I guess... I would tie the other pigtail to something and climb down after you?

[Shizuo's kind of skeptical.]

Are you sure that'll work?

[Then...]

I guess I could cut your hair when we get down there.

[He gestures to his ax.]

Maybe.

[Will an ax be good at cutting hair?]

[fonmaster]

[Ion nods eagerly.]

Okay! Maybe I can find the right prince for Guy once we're out of here! My SFC doesn't work up here.

Alright. I'll try not to pull too much.

[Shizuo's been involved with some strange things before, but this is probably the strangest.]

So go ahead and make sure your other pigtail is tied tightly.

[In the meanwhile he retrieves his ax and picks up Guy, who he easily slings over his shoulder.]

[Ion loops his second pigtail around something tightly, tying it securely and waiting for Shizuo to go. It doesn't seem to bother the little Fon Master at all to have his hair climbed on.]

[Once Ion's hair is tied, Shizuo walks to the window and prepares to climb out, tugging on the hair experimentally to make sure it doesn't seem to hurt. Then he climbs down. Though he carries both Guy and a heavy ax, the trip downward is relatively easy. He's strong enough to manage them both, and Ion's hair is surprisingly sturdy. Once he's made it to the bottom, he calls up to Ion.]

Okay!

[fonmaster]

[Ion climbs down... well, more like rappels down, it's a little difficult to climb your own hair. He just gives up on the last few feet, going ahead and letting himself hit the ground with a "oof!"]

That wasn't so bad!

Nah, not at all.

[Still holding Guy with one arm, Shizuo lifts the ax with the other.]

Tell me where to cut.

[fonmaster]

[Ion ties his pigtails together up against the wall and motions for Shizuo to cut at the knot. Maybe he'll actually be able to walk, that way!]

[Shizuo isn't really sure if he should chop or try to slice, so he does a combination of both - hitting the hair at the knot with a little force, and then dragging the blade across it until Ion is free from the hair that binds him to the tower.]

That's the first time I've used this thing. Not bad.

[fonmaster]

Really?

[Ion shakes out his now shorter hair. Ohhh, that feels good.]

How did you make it through all those brambles without an ax?

The stupid thing kept getting tangled, so I just used my strength.

[It helped that he got pretty irritated early on. He pretty much stormed through everything. His clothes probably would be in better shape if he had been patient.]

[fonmaster]

I will clear them.

[Ion raises his hands. A power greater than the one Zelda has seems to be within him.]

You're finished! Arise, resound, and become the blade of destruction! Lost Fon Drive!

[A huge magical circle of some sort raises out as far as they can see, cutting the bramble and making their path clear. Ion is just barely standing when it's over.]

Wow.

[Shizuo blinks.]

That's...handy.

[Then he realizes that it's taken a lot out of Ion.]

Hey...are you okay? Lean on me.

[Yeah, so he's carrying a guy and an ax, but he's Shizuo (and a valiant huntsman!). He can add Ion to the pile if he needs to.]

[fonmaster]

T...thank you...

[Ion climbs up on Shizuo's other shoulder.]

Can you take us to the castle? Maybe we can get a quest to wake Guy up...

[a_violent_end]

[He starts walking, unhindered by the weight on his shoulders.]

Yeah, that's a good idea. Maybe you can ask that fairy woman to grant you a wish to wake him up.

[Carol's kind of irritating, but Shizuo figures he would be, too, if he were a mess of glitter and working for the idiots who run this place.]
