ECLIPSE ON THE ISLAND TONIGHT!! COME JOIN US!!

[ apparently there's to be an eclipse this evening. the entire bubble itself will be darkened as it usually is at night sans for electrical lights and the coral, but the real show will be able to be seen on the island. it sounds interesting, so maybe you want to check it out? a lot of other people are going—

although if you do decide to visit the island that evening, you might be in for an unexpected surprise. sure, the eclipse itself is pretty fantastic and not a thing one would expect to be able to see in vatheon of all places, but there's something else on the horizon... ]

[It does seem at least a little weaker, the shell not taking slashes on visibly but the strikes feeling a little more solid, less repelled. After only a few seconds, though, Yami comes back to his senses and the following slashes are blocked, the hammer coming out to smack down while Karkat was so close.]

[There, a strategy for this! Video game logic prevails!! Such is the luck of having played a real life one for about a month straight before he came here, though the monsters worked different in that. But of course, those states don't last forever - and next thing he knows, there's a hammer swimming at him.]

[Karkat drops and rolls, captchaloguing his sickles back into the his abstratus for the moment - which is a fancy way of saying they disappear back into his convoluted RPG-style inventory system. Better than accidentally cutting himself while he tries to escape, which is certainly the goal here; once he's a space away from the hammer strike, he's scrambling to his feet, aiming to run back into the trees.]

[The saws come back out, and Yami spins, pursuing after Karkat and cutting down more trees. It's slow, but the monster is persistent.]
