Italy had finally stopped shaking, thanks to his many friends he'd made here. He hadn't seen any signs of the Boogeyman (read: Grand Highblood) anywhere so it must be safe to go out again.

A few weeks ago, Medic had suggested opening a bakery. There seemed to be interest in it and he even got a partner, a pretty and very sweet mouse queen!

Now there were two questions left in the country's mind:
1. location, location, location
2. cost?
Everything was essentially free here, though Italy had no idea how that even kept their economy alive (Vatheon was anything but impoverish). But giving the baked goods away for free just didn't sit right with him. He could only think of how poor his people had been lately. But money was meaningless here. So the idea of trading for goods sat pretty well in his mind. Bartering was his old way of trading (in his early country days), but that didn't mean he couldn't do it again.

Anyway, he stood in the plaza, staring at the buildings, sketching them out to see what sort of storefront he should have.

Yet another thing Cielo liked about Vatheon was that every day was different. He always saw new things and met new people whenever he went outside.

Today's excursion took him to the plaza, the place where he had first arrived in the city. And there he saw someone who seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite remember who. Venturing closer, the name came back to him.

"Hey, you're Italy, ja?" he asked.

Italy turned at his name and smiled brightly. He recognized the other with their rather short yet interesting conversation. A lot had really passed since then, hadn't it? Two curses and a frighten by the boogeyman.

"Si, that's right~. You're Cielo, the one who likes cats too, right?"

"Ja, that's right," he nodded. It was rather nice that Italy remembered his name! Honestly, he wasn't expecting it. They only talked once over the SFC, after all. "Did you get a kitty cat?"

Oh good, he did have the right person. Cielo didn't seem very mistakable, so if he got this wrong, bad on him. But he didn't, so all was good.

He shook his head in reply. "Not yet," he frowned just a bit. "I got cursed twice. I don't want to be cursed anymore."

"Me too! First I was a bird, and then I got sick." Cielo understood what a pain curses were. Sadly, he didn't think there was a way to avoid them. "What are you doing now?"

It seemed like Italy was just staring at the buildings.

They both could commiserate together.

"Sketching buildings," he replied, offering a rather detailed replica of a building front in the plaza. "I want to open a bakery, so I'm sketching ideas of what it should look like."

Italy did that? It looks amazing! Cielo may not know very much about art, but he can recognize a skilled drawing when he sees one. But right now, he has a very important question to ask.

"What's a bakery?"

Italy blinked for a moment, then it hit him where they were. This was Vatheon, not Earth. Things were different here. "It's a place where you go to buy or trade for bread, pastries, and cake!"

Cielo had bread during the fairy tale curse. He had gone back to the base and urged Serph to try it sometime after the curse had ended. "Are pastries and cake food too?"

Because if they are, he wants some.

Meanwhile, Bianca was still getting use to Vatheon. She had been trying to figure out which building was which, where people usually go, and so on. While she was looking around, she spotted a familiar face.

"Hey, Italy!" She shouted to him. "It's been a while!"

Italy's smile broadened as he heard the familiar voice outside the SFC (he was pretty sure he didn't accidentally turn it on in his pocket). He waved back at his new friend.

"Hi, Bianca~!" He folded up his sketchpad and tucked his pencil behind his ear. "Ve, how are you?"

"I'm feeling fine! I am still getting use to Vatheon but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it!" Then she looked at the pencil at his ear. "What about you? What are you drawing"

"Happy to not be sick anymore," Italy replied with a nod. He turned the sketchbook around when she asked, showing her his rather accurate sketch of a nearby storefront. "I want to open a bakery, so I'm looking at local architecture to decide how it should look~"

"Ahhh, if I knew you were sick, I would have gotten you a get well soon card!" And then she looked at the sketchbook. "You're a really good artist! I hope that the bakery goes well for you!" She looks at it once more. "What are you going to make?"

"You're so kind~" He smiled broadly. She was so amazingly kind to him and they hadn't known one another very long either. He wasn't too accustomed to people not picking on him as much.

"I hope so too," he nodded. "Ve~~~, I'm thinking of breads and pastries and of course cakes and sweets. Big bro France taught me some interesting recipes."

"It's not a problem at all!" Was it bad to be nice? She was aware of it but she didn't think too much of it.

"I want to try some too when you open the bakery!" She said to him happily. "If you need any help with it, let me know!"

No it wasn't bad at all. Italy was very happy to find nice people.

"Great~" Italy smiled. He was more than happy to share food he made with his friends. "I'll be sure to let you know~. What do you like to do? Bake? Decorate?"

[OH WHOA. IT'S ONE OF THOSE CRAZY ITALY BROTHERS.

Netherlands will just...try to slip away...silently...without being noticed...]

[ That's not too hard to do. Italy's not very aware of his surroundings. He just continues sketching and humming to himself. He wouldn't mind the company at all.... ]

[Well he...will just take a peek at the sketch. Just a single peek before skittering off. It wouldn't hurt to see what the kid was drawing now... Maybe he grew up between then and now.]

[ He's got a rather accurate sketch on this page of one of the nearby storefronts, patio furniture and shrubbery included. ]

[O-Oh... That's actually...quite good. He continues to watch silently. Stalkerish? A bit.]

[ Italy pauses for a moment, feeling like he's being watched but shrugged it off and returns to sketching. He's soon done with the sketch, flips the page, then begins to sketch another building front. ]

[He stands upright and starts to back away. Well that's enough of that. Seems like Italy has a single redeeming quality.]

[ Well it is one thing that Italy can do well: art. He's good at cooking but his obsession with pasta rubs people the wrong way. ]

Hm?
