Italy had finally stopped shaking, thanks to his many friends he'd made here. He hadn't seen any signs of the Boogeyman (read: Grand Highblood) anywhere so it must be safe to go out again.

A few weeks ago, Medic had suggested opening a bakery. There seemed to be interest in it and he even got a partner, a pretty and very sweet mouse queen!

Now there were two questions left in the country's mind:
1. location, location, location
2. cost?
Everything was essentially free here, though Italy had no idea how that even kept their economy alive (Vatheon was anything but impoverish). But giving the baked goods away for free just didn't sit right with him. He could only think of how poor his people had been lately. But money was meaningless here. So the idea of trading for goods sat pretty well in his mind. Bartering was his old way of trading (in his early country days), but that didn't mean he couldn't do it again.

Anyway, he stood in the plaza, staring at the buildings, sketching them out to see what sort of storefront he should have.

"Off we go then!" With that, she quickly took off her shoes and followed Italy to the kitchen. The groceries were starting to get a little heavy.

He lead the way to a very large, rather modern kitchen. Italy immediately began rummaging for pots, pans, and measuring cups.

"Oh, oh! Let me help too!" She said after dropping some of the stuff on the floor. As she opened some of the cabinets, she went looking for some pots and pans too. Note to self, she thought, she'll have to help clean this up after this was over!

"Pots are in that cabinet," he pointed to one of the cabinets over the counter. Italy rummaged in another cabinet to pull out some mixing bowls and an electric mixer.

"Right, on it!" She said before handing some pots from that spot. "And there! I got some~"

"Perfect," Italy grinned, placing the mixing bowls on the counter too.

[ i actually don't know how to make pasta, so i'm making this all up... ]

With that, Bianca looked over at what Italy was doing. Whatever he might be doing, it sure looked a lot harder than what her parents usually make a home. Now that she thought about it, the last thing she cooked, she sure made a giant mess...

[haha, don't worry! I don't know either!]

Italy had made so much pasta, he knew the recipe by heart. He didn't bother measuring much, just poured in what felt right. A bunch here, a pinch there. He'd grown more accustomed to mixing with a modern hand-mixer too. So much less time spent on beating everything and it came out just as well.

"Ah, you're really good at this!" Bianca suddenly said. "I don't think I can make something like this!" No really, she couldn't. She would be making a big mess if she did!

"I've been cooking for centuries," Italy grinned. "I could teach you~"

"Centuries?" She raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?" Could he be one of those countries she heard about when she first arrived here?

"Si, si," he replied. "I've been around a long time, though I'm not one of the oldest countries at home."

So she was right, he was one of the countries! While she had known about it, it still doesn't stop Bianca from widening her eyes. Since he was centuries old, she shouldn't be acting so casual around him! With that, Bianca isn't too sure how to reply to Italy.

Italy just offered Bianca a warm smile and continued mixing the ingredients to exact consistency. Being a country isn't odd for him at all. It's just how it was.

While Bianca didn't say anything, she continued to look at the pasta that he was making. Well, how that she knows he's a country, how is she suppose to react? Although, she was having a lot more fun just talking to him causally...

"It looks like it's going to be a really great pasta!"

"Ve, I hope you like it," Italy grinned, rolling out and flattening the dough to make the noodle shapes. He idly pondered for a moment what sort of pasta to make, but he ultimately thought of just spaghetti. Fast to make and always good.

"Of course I do! I like them already!" Besides, there was no way she could make something like this. "I'll have to try it when I have time too!"

Italy grinned in return. "You'll have to let me try some when you make it~~"

"Of course, why wouldn't I? That would just be mean of me if I did!" She giggled as she waited for Italy to continue making his pasta.

Italy smiled again, as he separated the dough into pasta and put it in the oven. [ I'm pretty sure you need to bake it before you can boil it o_o ] He was rather used to having people not be so nice, but having someone nice was amazing. "Ve, I can't wait."

"I can't either!" She smiled before looking at the oven. "So...how long do we have to wait again?" She'll have to make a note of it or else she destroy the oven like she did a while ago back home.

He told her of the times and temperatures for making the pasta, though the times may vary. It was more of an estimate than an exact time, after all.

After Bianca heard what the times were, she made a note to herself. That would mean she had to be super careful. If she were to live here, she needed to get a timer then.

"Ve, I have an idea," Italy suggested. "We could cook together~"

Her eyes widen. "Are you sure? I'm known to be a little clumsy so I could mess up your pasta!"
