Italy had finally stopped shaking, thanks to his many friends he'd made here. He hadn't seen any signs of the Boogeyman (read: Grand Highblood) anywhere so it must be safe to go out again.

A few weeks ago, Medic had suggested opening a bakery. There seemed to be interest in it and he even got a partner, a pretty and very sweet mouse queen!

Now there were two questions left in the country's mind:
1. location, location, location
2. cost?
Everything was essentially free here, though Italy had no idea how that even kept their economy alive (Vatheon was anything but impoverish). But giving the baked goods away for free just didn't sit right with him. He could only think of how poor his people had been lately. But money was meaningless here. So the idea of trading for goods sat pretty well in his mind. Bartering was his old way of trading (in his early country days), but that didn't mean he couldn't do it again.

Anyway, he stood in the plaza, staring at the buildings, sketching them out to see what sort of storefront he should have.

"Ja, that's right," he nodded. It was rather nice that Italy remembered his name! Honestly, he wasn't expecting it. They only talked once over the SFC, after all. "Did you get a kitty cat?"

Oh good, he did have the right person. Cielo didn't seem very mistakable, so if he got this wrong, bad on him. But he didn't, so all was good.

He shook his head in reply. "Not yet," he frowned just a bit. "I got cursed twice. I don't want to be cursed anymore."

"Me too! First I was a bird, and then I got sick." Cielo understood what a pain curses were. Sadly, he didn't think there was a way to avoid them. "What are you doing now?"

It seemed like Italy was just staring at the buildings.

They both could commiserate together.

"Sketching buildings," he replied, offering a rather detailed replica of a building front in the plaza. "I want to open a bakery, so I'm sketching ideas of what it should look like."

Italy did that? It looks amazing! Cielo may not know very much about art, but he can recognize a skilled drawing when he sees one. But right now, he has a very important question to ask.

"What's a bakery?"

Italy blinked for a moment, then it hit him where they were. This was Vatheon, not Earth. Things were different here. "It's a place where you go to buy or trade for bread, pastries, and cake!"

Cielo had bread during the fairy tale curse. He had gone back to the base and urged Serph to try it sometime after the curse had ended. "Are pastries and cake food too?"

Because if they are, he wants some.

"Si, si," he replied with a nod. "Very good food! Come by and get some when it opens! Ve, I could make you some before too. Pastries and pasta~. Oh that makes me hungry~~~."

Just hearing about it made him really want to try some. But be careful offering him food, Italy. You know not his appetite. Good luck to you, especially if he decides to bring Serph along!

"What's a bakery need?"

It must have some specific needs if Italy needed to plant his out as much as he is!

Italy was the type to cook up a big hearty meal. He fed two voracious mercenaries at home. "Need? Like supplies?"

"Ja, supplies and equipment."

He's really curious about bakeries now! It sounds like it'll be a while before Italy opens his, so he wants to satisfy a little bit of his curiosity.

"Ve, there's flour and yeast and," he rattled on about ingredients in bread and pastries. "Oh, sugar for the icing!" He was quite well versed in baking and various ways to make different pastries. He was versed in pizza and pasta, as well. He just loved cooking.

Cielo didn't understand many of the words Italy was saying, but that wasn't important. What was important was Italy's enthusiasm for the bakery and for cooking. And even if he doesn't get half of what Italy was telling, he does get how happy Italy is.

"I'll be sure to visit the day it opens," he smiles.

"That's great~!" Italy grinned ear to ear. This bakery would be more fun than he imagined. And since money was no object here, he was pretty sure he'd be busy with it. "You can try all sorts of food you've never had before~"

If he wasn't sold before, he would be right then and there. Food was a simply amazing and glorious thing he had been introduced to in Vatheon and he was going to try as many different kinds as possible. Pastries, cake, pasta, whatever Italy makes, he'll eat.

"Can't wait, good luck, ja?"

Though, if Italy was half as good as he was making things sound, then he should have no problems at all.

"Thanks," Italy smiled and nodded. If there were two things Italy actually could do it was trade and food. And he did love to cook. He'd have far too much fun with this.
