All day the Golden Victory club had been closed, the only people allowed in being the workers and helpers who were setting it up for the night's big event. Finally, at seven, the lights all turn on and the main doors open.

Leading up to the main doors is a red carpet walkway that will lead right into the main room. There, the usual club room is well illuminated with it's large bar at the back wall with plenty of drinks available for everyone. Along the walls, the club's chairs and some new loveseats are placed for anyone who would rather sit and socialize than stand or dance.

At the back, on either side of the large room, there are food tables with a wide selection, certain to please everyone. Along with these food tables are separate dessert tables. On their own table, there are three, large, cakes that anyone is welcome to dig into. (Although, they're just so pretty!)

In a few, strategic, locations there can be found baskets of masks just in case anyone needs one or wants to try and get one on a stubborn friend.

Lighthearted ball music and slow, peaceful songs lend to the atmosphere; loud enough to be heard and danced to, but soft enough that conversation is possible.

The hosts themselves, along with the staff of Temptationis Clementiae, are already there and in costume, as if welcoming their guests in for the festivities.

*Whee!~ Selphie claps her hands together, not even trying to hide her excitement*

Ooh, yeah! Can we? I wanna try it all!!

I-I don't see why not! They brought enough for everyone...

[The cakes are huge! Hah. She gestures over to the one she'd been staring at first.]

*Selphie bright much bounces over, helping herself to a slice of cake. She gets one for Yukari too and passes it over*

[Oh, wow. Her eyes light up-- that certainly saves her a bit of time. And so Yukari accepts the cake happily.]

I guess we should probably find a place to sit, too...

[She really doesn't wanna drop this.]

*Careful, oh so carefully, Selphie carries her plate over to a table. She doesn't want to drop the cake cause then it would be ruined, and she'd also really hate to mess up her pretty dress. At the table, she puts the plate down slowly before sitting*

Phew!~

[Oh, it looks like Selphie's got her eyes set on a table.

When she notices this, she follows her, though it's not an easy feat for either of them, with all the people around. She had more than one close call, so "Phew" is right.]

Thank goodness we found one.

[She was beginning to think there'd never be a free table...]

I know! It's so busy here!

*Selphie smiles, looking round at everybody dressed up so nicely*

You had any dances yet?

Mmhmm!

A lot, actually. I think everyone's dancing...

*Selphie smiles brightly at her friend, pleased that she's been busy, and popular - she wouldn't expect anything else, really*

Hmm...just one. My friend Squall, from back home.

*She scooped some cake into her mouth - one dance from someone she already knew didn't make her evening especially successful*

[...The same world as Squall? Really...

She hadn't known that. Or more likely, she'd forgotten it. Squall's not much of a talker; she's a little surprised, and amused.]

Wow. He doesn't seem like the dancing type to me... is he any good?

*Selphie burst out laughing at that, pleased too to hear that two of her friends know one another*

He never used to. We had a bunch of dances at school, but well...he's just Squall. There was a certain lady helped him get out of his funk, and she taught him to dance super well!

[She doesn't know him super well, but enough to point out something like this. ...And she can even take a guess as to who she might be talking about.

Not that she knows her super well, either.]

*Selphie giggles and nods her head, stabbing at her cake as she does so*

Uh huh! So you know her too?

It's obvious they're in love, right?

*Ah, Selphie, so excitable where romance is concerned*

[At that, she has to laugh, thinking back on the broadcast she'd seen about Squall's party. She almost feels bad, that she ended up not going . . .]

I dunno. But she was awfully excited about throwing a birthday party for him.

[Selphie can be excited enough for all of them, though.]

*Selphie nods and smiles, thinking about that before digging into her cake. While she chews, her eyes open wide and she stares at Yukari*

Oh my... this cake is so amazing!~~

[. . . Oh, right. At that, Yukari's eyes light up, as if she's just remembered the cake in front of her. And she tries some, too.

There aren't even any words at first. Just a highly contented "Mmm" sound.]

It's about as delicious as it looks! [Chocolate is her weakness forever--] I wonder if we could take some home . . .

*Selphie takes another huge bite of the cake before glancing around to where the table is with the rest of the cake*

Hmm... I guess there's enough...

[Hmmm.

Her gaze follows Selphie's, as she takes another idle bite. There does seem to be a lot of it, doesn't there? But she shouldn't be greedy.]

Well, I don't worry about it for now.

People are too busy dancing and stuff to be eating all the cake, so I guess it's okay to have as much as she likes!

*She certainly seems to be having more success with the food than the dancing, anyway*

Exactly!

[. . . Well, sure. She isn't going to deny a perfectly good excuse if Selphie's going to just hand it to her. So she happily accepts, and it doesn't take her long to finish her cake after that.]

And speaking of that-- were you planning on going back out?

[Onto the dance floor. Squall's not the only one who would love a dance with her, after all!]

*Neither does Selphie - not like it's a cake eating competition or something. She thinks about that, then takes a napkin to dab at her mouth - being super polite since she's all dressed up*

Oh... I don't think so... Are you?

[Ah. At her answer, Yukari changes her expression a bit. Where she'd previously looked enthused, she looks a bit more nonchalant.]

Mm, I'm not really sure. I . . . think it got a little too crowded for me.

*Selphie tilted her head at her friend, finally putting down her fork, and she gave a disapproving shake of her head*

But why? I thought you had fun dancing...

. . . Well, I was! But it's harder to actually dance if there are too many people, right?

*Selphie looks at her friend, then out at the dance floor. To be fair, it wasn't like it was a rave or anything with everyone squished together*
