Is it that time of the month already?

...No, today is not the start of shark week.

The Station Master's taken precautions to make this month's mingle party nice and laid back, after that rather magnetic week. Today, locals are all over the Plaza starting to put up the decorations for this strange holiday known as "Christmas", and they're more than happy to cheerfully rope any foreigner who doesn't look too busy into helping them.

The food tables are back, albeit with more drink than food. Hot chocolate, gluhwein mulled wine, a huge bowl of fruit punch, you name it, it's there. Foodwise, there's snowflake shaped crackers with cheese and meats, shrimp cocktails, cups filled with green or red jelly, and plenty of cookies to go around.

Near the food tables are the two usual booths, one belonging to the Welcoming Committee, armed with all the information a newbie would want to know, and the other belonging to the Host Club, manned by all the male eyecandy you could ever need. Have they done something special for their booths this festive season? Better sashay their way and find out!

Walking around all the tables and booths is what looks to be a giant lobster(???) in a Santa suit handing out candy to anyone and everyone nearby. It seems the locals don't understand that it's "Santa Claus", not "Sandy Claws."

Finally, it looks like there's been a new addition to the plaza. Was that ice skating rink over there last night?? It certainly fits the theme, and the locals don't seem to be surprised. They'll even help you lace up those skates and take them for a spin. Bundle up and try not to fall too much!

[Angelo skipped work at the Host Club to go skating. Anyone passing by might see him being a bit clumsy, yet he still gets back up to try again. This was something he had been looking forward to and he's not one to back down from a challenge.]

[It didn't take too long for Ilya to find a pair of skates and lace them on before joining the people on the rink. She hadn't done it too much back in the land of the winter castle, but it certainly wasn't her first time. Zipping by with relative ease, she stopped when she saw a man struggling a little.]

Do you need help, mister? [She didn't hold back from giggling slightly. Besides, it would come across as being with good intention if it was from a little girl, wouldn't it?]

[Oh no, a girl seeing him act clumsy... This is not good. He straightens up on the ice and tries to act suave for the girl in front of him.]

No no fair maiden, I can take care of myself. But your help is very much appreciated.

[Well, at least he's a little proper. She smiles at his visible attempt to look like he knew what he was doing. At the very least, she appreciated the effort that he was putting in.]

Are you sure? You look like you'll fall any second... [Add a slight tilt of the head, for added effect.]

Ah ha, you're too kind. I assure you I'll be fine.

[Says the guy who does look like he's slipping and sliding all over the place.]

[Ilya isn't about to stop the man if he insists on being all independent, but he really shouldn't be insisting unless he can stand up on his own. And... to be honest, it just seemed a little sad to leave a falling man without being able to help him a little.]

Maybe not help, but I can teach you something?

[He quirks an eyebrow at first towards this young lady, but offers her a smile to be polite. Perhaps he could charm her with his good looks.]

Well since you're being so kind and I could never turn down such kindness from a beautiful maiden, I will listen.

[She giggles a little at his words. Ilya thinks that his intentions are a little too obvious, but she doesn't say anything about it. It's kind of endearing.]

First, you have to try and stay a little lower. Standing up straight just makes it really easy for you to fall over.

[It's easy for her, since she's short...]

[Being a man that stands about 5'10'', this isn't as easy for him. At times, he wishes he was a bit shorter.]

Ah is that so? [He attempts what she says though, despite being the height he is.] I do believe I'm getting the hang of it.

[She smiles, glad that her advice is working somewhat. Whether it's his determination or actually the shift in balance that's helping him remains to be seen.]

Yep, just like that. See? You're doing a lot better already.

[She skates around a little more, trying to get the other man to follow her.]

[He follows her every step and feels a bit more confident at this ice skating business. Being from a warmer region doesn't help you learn how to skate on ice, even if he has visited the frozen north before.]

I should have practiced more when I visited Orkutsk, but I didn't see many chances to do that.

[As he follows her, she increases her pace a little more. She's happy that he seems to be able to follow her.]

Orktusk? Is that a town where you're from?

[That's a little bit of a strange name for a town. Though maybe he would think that Fuyuki is a little strange, too.]

[Making sure to keep up with her, he shakes his head at first only to then answer.]

Not at all, that's a small town my companions and I traveled through. The town I'm from is called Simpleton.

[Noticing his new gray-haired bff had abandoned his all-important Host Club duties, mascot and ace detective Chibiterasu sets out to find his obviously kidnapped companion! He bounds around the bend, intending to give Angelo's distractors a piece of his doggy-mind when--



...Oh, he's just slacking off.

Chibi skirts around the edge of the ice, quite unwilling to venture out onto something that is possibly just the frozen surface of a deep, oddly shaped pond.]

Arf!!

[Angelo spots Chibi out of the corner of his eye and skates over to the edge of the rink to greet him.]

Hello Sunshine, are you here to take me back to the Host Club?

[sonlight]

Wuff! [Darn right he is! You've got responsibilities to attend to, bro! Unless your girlfriend just dumped you, you really have no reason to be off having fun instead of doing your job.

Unfortunately, this particular game of "fetch" isn't going so well for Chibi, as there's no way he can drag him back without getting onto the ice. And getting onto the ice is something he's very against doing at the moment.]

[He doesn't do responsibilities, Chibi. In fact he doesn't feel like going by the Host Club today and thanks for remind him about not having a girlfriend.]

Sorry Sunshine, but I'm going up to the island after I'm done at the rink. [He can also see Chibi is against coming out on the ice.] And since you're not coming out on the ice to get me, I'll be having more fun.

[He huffs, shaking his head in disappointment. C'mon man, it's the one day a month you actually have to do something!]

[He only faintly laughs and pats Chibi's head when he approaches him at the edge of the ice.]

Come here Sunshine, let's have some fun together.

Woo... [He's happy to get those headpats, but as soon as the ice skating suggestion is made, he backs up a good foot away from the edge, tail between his legs.

Uh, no, really, that's okay! He'll drown some other time, it's fine.]

[He might be slightly laughing at Chibi.]

It's made of ice, you won't fall in. If it helps though, I'll hold onto you.

[Yeah, sure, have your laughs at his fears! You're not the one who can't swim...

Huff.

Angelo's comments at least have him annoyed enough to try again, so he steps closer and puts just one paw on the ice. One at a time, yep. Baby steps. So far so good, right?]

[He grabs Chibi with a sigh, because the pup was moving too slow for him.]

Let's go Sunshine. [And off they go across the ice fast as lightning.]

Awoooo! [Chibi scrambles around in his grasp, trying to find the best possible, absolutely most saferest way to cling to Angelo that he can.]

[He starts laughing more again and smiling.]

Isn't this fun, Sunshine?! [He does a small leap in the air, only to land back down onto the ice followed by a twirl. All the while, still making sure to hold onto Chibi tightly.]
