Overflow for Masq. Ball
Who: Absolutely everyone
What: Masquerade~!
Where: The Golden Victory Club
When: Night of Saturday the 8th
Style: Whatever you want
Status: Open like the club's doors~
All day the Golden Victory club had been closed, the only people allowed in being the workers and helpers who were setting it up for the night's big event. Finally, at seven, the lights all turn on and the main doors open.
Leading up to the main doors is a red carpet walkway that will lead right into the main room. There, the usual club room is well illuminated with it's large bar at the back wall with plenty of drinks available for everyone. Along the walls, the club's chairs and some new loveseats are placed for anyone who would rather sit and socialize than stand or dance.
At the back, on either side of the large room, there are food tables with a wide selection, certain to please everyone. Along with these food tables are separate dessert tables. On their own table, there are three, large, cakes that anyone is welcome to dig into. (Although, they're just so pretty!)
In a few, strategic, locations there can be found baskets of masks just in case anyone needs one or wants to try and get one on a stubborn friend.
Lighthearted ball music and slow, peaceful songs lend to the atmosphere; loud enough to be heard and danced to, but soft enough that conversation is possible.
The hosts themselves, along with the staff of Temptationis Clementiae, are already there and in costume, as if welcoming their guests in for the festivities.
[OOC: Feel free to just make an initial comment with a link to the thread you're continuing here and then thread on your merry way~]

[In truth, the thought of gambling-- even something as innocent as this, kind of leaves a bad taste in her mouth. She feels a bit bitter, thinking about her mother, even after all this time, but that's ... probably not very fair to Yu.
So she continues, as if to correct herself.]
I- I mean, I wasn't sure you'd have anything to bet with.
[Laughing, because she's totally teasing him, totally...]
no subject
[ he'll give that a few seconds to sink in...
before quickly filling in the holes before he gets himself slapped or something. ]
If I win, you have to dance with me.
[ that seems to be the cool thing to do here tonight. ]
1/2
[It's her mind in the gutter, not his, so it's not like a slap would even be justified here. But of course, that's never really stopped Yukari before...]
no subject
Oh. Yeah, sure, I-- I can do that. [By comparison to what she was thinking before, no problem!]
And if I win...
[......Betting doesn't work when both results are the same, so dancing is out. Just give her a sec here...]
no subject
his joke might have caused him dearly if she hadn't quickly calmed down. luckily, he was able to avoid calamity this go around, though he makes a mental note to tread more carefully in the future. ]
Good.
[ he just nods, waiting for her to make her counter offer. ]
no subject
[She only acknowledges his approval for a brief moment before going back to thinking... wondering what she should even subject him to. It's a bit hard, since she doesn't really need anything. But it should probably be something simple, since dancing is rather simple, and consequences should match...]
Then you walk me home tonight, after the party.
[Pausing for a moment, and...
Yeah, that seems fair. Right? Maybe?]
no subject
[ he doesn't hesitate at all to answer, instead just offering his hand for a shake to seal it. it doesn't really matter to him whether he wins or loses... granted, it never really mattered to him all that much. if anything, the bet seems more like an excuse to further socialize anyway.
not that he won't feign disappointment if he loses anyway. ]
I hope you don't live too far away...
no subject
Competition is fun.]
It's not so bad.
[She shakes her head at his question, tone dismissive as if to say it isn't even worth the time to worry about it.]
That reminds me, though. I never did ask where you've been staying.
no subject
[ this was definitely not just decided totally on the fly minutes ago.
definitely not. ]
What about you?
no subject
...Probably not.]
I've been in the Volo Dorms for over a year. But it... actually feels pretty empty lately.
[There's an expression on her face that's kind of hard to read. Her smile notably fades.]
no subject
If it feels empty, I'll come over and visit sometimes.
[ why not?
it isn't like he has much else to do. ]
no subject
[Her expression brightens just a little at the suggestion. Come to think of it, it's been months since she last remembered Yu visiting them-- and he likely doesn't even remember being there. They'd always meant to have another gathering of Persona users anyway, from all generations. And look how many have left since then...
Oh well. She should at least let him know that she knows--
Or something.]
You're a Persona user, right?
no subject
[ junpei had more or less inadvertently let that tidbit out, but he just nods in confirmation. it'll probably take him a while to get used to the idea that there are others out there...
but it's really not that unusual. ]
You too?
no subject
[Yosuke mentioned that he'd been there before, on something like a school trip. She doesn't remember if Yu was mentioned specifically, but she'll assume they went together.]
There used to be a few of us living here. But they come and go... just like anyone else, I guess.
[...She looks just a bit bitter.]
no subject
[ he still remembers that trip fondly... more or less. ]
Is that so... [ his voice dips a point, noticing her apparent resentment.
before nodding. ] Someone important must have left, huh? [ doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. ]
no subject
It's more that she just wasn't going to talk about it unless she had to.]
... It wasn't the first time. And it probably won't be the last.
[She's over it, anyway. Look how over it she is.]
no subject
[ yep, definitely very over it. whoever it was, he or she must have been really important...
so dwelling on the subject probably won't help matters much. oh, how convenient! they're finally at the front of the line. ]
Ah. [ and it's punch. staple of all dances. ] It's my loss.
no subject
Too bad.
[A teasing, light-hearted tone returns to her voice; and not a moment later, she'll be handing him a cup of the punch, which she filled herself.
As if to say "no hard feelings."]
no subject
even if it had just been moments ago. ]
Thanks.
[ and with a quick sip... ] Ah... at least it's good punch. [ it would suck to lose a bet on account of nasty punch. ]
no subject
There's no immediate verbal agreement, though her actions certainly speak for themselves.]
It is.
[Exhaling, nearly half of her cup is gone. But she looks very satisfied.]
Jeez. I didn't even realize how dry my throat was.
no subject
[ it seemed simple enough just watching, but actually doing it is another matter entirely.
he goes back to drinking his punch for a while, until his cup is drained too. ]
no subject
Finally, she lets out a content sigh, as she glances over to him.]
Did you really want to?
[Dance with her--]
no subject
but right now he knows he can't really say that. ]
Of course.
no subject
And then she averts her gaze some.]
Y'know, I was never really a big fan of gambling, anyway.
[Suggesting they could just forget about their bet . . .]
no subject
[ a blink. it takes him a second to understand what she means...
but once he does, his face slips into a smile. well then... he'll offer her a hand. ]
Me neither.
