Overflow for Masq. Ball
Who: Absolutely everyone
What: Masquerade~!
Where: The Golden Victory Club
When: Night of Saturday the 8th
Style: Whatever you want
Status: Open like the club's doors~
All day the Golden Victory club had been closed, the only people allowed in being the workers and helpers who were setting it up for the night's big event. Finally, at seven, the lights all turn on and the main doors open.
Leading up to the main doors is a red carpet walkway that will lead right into the main room. There, the usual club room is well illuminated with it's large bar at the back wall with plenty of drinks available for everyone. Along the walls, the club's chairs and some new loveseats are placed for anyone who would rather sit and socialize than stand or dance.
At the back, on either side of the large room, there are food tables with a wide selection, certain to please everyone. Along with these food tables are separate dessert tables. On their own table, there are three, large, cakes that anyone is welcome to dig into. (Although, they're just so pretty!)
In a few, strategic, locations there can be found baskets of masks just in case anyone needs one or wants to try and get one on a stubborn friend.
Lighthearted ball music and slow, peaceful songs lend to the atmosphere; loud enough to be heard and danced to, but soft enough that conversation is possible.
The hosts themselves, along with the staff of Temptationis Clementiae, are already there and in costume, as if welcoming their guests in for the festivities.
[OOC: Feel free to just make an initial comment with a link to the thread you're continuing here and then thread on your merry way~]

[ he still remembers that trip fondly... more or less. ]
Is that so... [ his voice dips a point, noticing her apparent resentment.
before nodding. ] Someone important must have left, huh? [ doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. ]
no subject
It's more that she just wasn't going to talk about it unless she had to.]
... It wasn't the first time. And it probably won't be the last.
[She's over it, anyway. Look how over it she is.]
no subject
[ yep, definitely very over it. whoever it was, he or she must have been really important...
so dwelling on the subject probably won't help matters much. oh, how convenient! they're finally at the front of the line. ]
Ah. [ and it's punch. staple of all dances. ] It's my loss.
no subject
Too bad.
[A teasing, light-hearted tone returns to her voice; and not a moment later, she'll be handing him a cup of the punch, which she filled herself.
As if to say "no hard feelings."]
no subject
even if it had just been moments ago. ]
Thanks.
[ and with a quick sip... ] Ah... at least it's good punch. [ it would suck to lose a bet on account of nasty punch. ]
no subject
There's no immediate verbal agreement, though her actions certainly speak for themselves.]
It is.
[Exhaling, nearly half of her cup is gone. But she looks very satisfied.]
Jeez. I didn't even realize how dry my throat was.
no subject
[ it seemed simple enough just watching, but actually doing it is another matter entirely.
he goes back to drinking his punch for a while, until his cup is drained too. ]
no subject
Finally, she lets out a content sigh, as she glances over to him.]
Did you really want to?
[Dance with her--]
no subject
but right now he knows he can't really say that. ]
Of course.
no subject
And then she averts her gaze some.]
Y'know, I was never really a big fan of gambling, anyway.
[Suggesting they could just forget about their bet . . .]
no subject
[ a blink. it takes him a second to understand what she means...
but once he does, his face slips into a smile. well then... he'll offer her a hand. ]
Me neither.
no subject
. . . So she also looks pleased.]
I guess this means you don't have to walk me home, either.
no subject
[ he's already leading her towards the dance floor as he replies though, the next song just getting started. ]
But it could be dangerous walking around alone at night.
[ even if this place is pretty ridiculously safe... ]
no subject
Well, it could . . . [She seems pretty unconcerned.] But that's not really why I wanted you to come anyway.
[. . . wait--]
Not that you should get the wrong idea or anything, but-- I can take care of myself.
[Because a boy visiting her late at night and all, and . . .
Yeah, she's just going to shut up now.]
no subject
I'll still walk you home, if you want.
[ making the bet kind of pointless...
granted, the bet was always kind of pointless. still, he looks at her a bit curiously as they start to dance. ]
But why did you want me to?
no subject
[In truth, she doesn't really know why. It was something she came up with on the spot, and it seemed like the best option at the time.
She shrugs, laughing a bit, even as they dance.]
But I'll leave it up to you.
no subject
[ even if he doesn't fully understand her reason...
he still feels compelled to do it anyway. why not? she's been a big help to him ever since he got here. ]
Then I'll make sure you get home safely tonight.
no subject
[Yukari maintains eye contact with him, of course, and watches him. He had a thoughtful expression on his face for a moment there, and it makes her wonder whether he thinks of this as an obligation.
But she hopes not.]
Let's meet outside after this is over.
[They're bound to get separated eventually.]
no subject
making it less of an obligation and more just returning a favor. ]
I'll be waiting near the entrance then.
[ setting a plan for later is a good idea, though he has no intention of slipping away from her just yet.
they still have dancing to do, after all. ]
