She's Been Sleeping with the Chocobos

Selphie had been pretty quiet lately. There was that curse, and that was weird, being so tiny and so small. She went places and was completely unnoticed. There there was Valentine's Day and all of the confusion that was brought with that. And now, now Selphie is pretty exhausted. The chocobos eggs are due to burst open soon, at least they should, and Selphie's been hiding out in the chocobo barn waiting for them to hatch, to make sure everything goes okay.

Maybe you haven't seen her around in a couple of days, not at the plaza, or at her usual cafes. Maybe you've noticed that she hasn't been home lately. Or maybe you don't know who she is, you don't care, and you're just walking past the barn and feel like looking in. But there's a Selphie in there, and she's got some blankets, a small pile of books, her guitar, and a box filled with empty takeaway tea cups and empty sandwich wrappers.

Find her in the morning/early afternoon and she'll be fast asleep on the hay. Later in the day she'll be grooming the birds, maybe playing with them outside, or singing to them. At night, she'll be keeping vigil.

Whatcha wanna know about them?

Well...I'm rather curious as to where they're from. I never seen birds like these before.

[And as she looks over at the chocobos, she looks a little ...unsure]

*Selphie smiles at the girl then gives a low whistle, calling one of the chocobos over*

This is Star!

*Star is slightly smaller, one of the younger ones, and definitely one of the most people friendly. She gives a small cheep*

[Nope, Chitose isn't sure how to respond to it. However, she will give Star a small pet on the forehead]

*Star cheeps happily, nudging the girl's hand with her head*

Oh! She likes you!~

[ashihara]

[ALL THE UNSURES. She was use to fighting monsters and while they have used certain types of animals for farming, she never tried to befriend them. People are weird]

I-I suppose so? I must admit, I am not use to befriending animals like these.

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie watches the girl carefully - she didn't seem too very used to this at all. She tilts her head and smiles*

How about befriending other people?

That I have no problem with.

[Still petting Star!]

*Selphie smiles and holds out a hand to the girl*

Then hi, I'm Selphie!~

[ashihara]

[Blink. She did give her hand]

It's nice to meet you Selphie-san, I am Chitose. It's nice to meet you.

*She smiles and shakes her hand happily*

You say san too, so you must be Japanese, right?

[ashihara]

Japanese? I'm afraid not, I'm from Ashihara however...I have heard it is very similar to Japan.

[booyaka_boom]

Oh! I'm sorry - it's just that everyone else I know who says -san and stuff, they're all from Japan!

*Still, she smiles at nods*

But I'm not Japanese either, I just sometimes say sans and chans and donos cause it's polite, right?

[ashihara]

It's quite all right, I do not mind.

Yes you are correct but you are more than welcome to simply call me Chitose.

*Selphie smiles*

Chitose! I like that - it's a nice name!

Thank you, Selphie. It's suppose to mean a thousand years but I'm not too sure the implications behind it are.

A thousand years... Like.. with the wisdom of a thousand years. Or maybe like... the prettiest girl in a thousand years!

Selphie, is there someone you love so dearly that you are willing to do anything?

[booyaka_boom]

*Selphie blushes at that but she nods her head, quite serious*

Uh huh. Do you have that person here too?

[ashihara]

[She nods her head as well]

Yes, I'm afraid so.

[booyaka_boom]

You're afraid so?

*Selphie tilts her head*

How is that a bad thing?

[ashihara]

He is trapped in a place such as this.

I'm worried about his safety here.

*Selphie smiles at her warmly*

But you two are here together, so you can look after each other, right?

And besides, I put up a pretty good fight and I always do my best to protect everyone. So you don't need to worry!
