EVENT - VALENTINE'S DAY

◣ VALENTINE'S PARTY ◢

✗ The host club's doors are closed for most of the morning, locals scurrying in and out with an odd flair to help set up for the big event. That sure is a lot of pink and red being carted inside. They must be going all out for this Zelos fellow. Who knows why.

Residents that wander around the plaza for any reason will find a local approaching them, hyping up some aspect of the party that might appeal to them. The lights, the music, the dancing! The chance for gossip! Here, if your date goes poorly, we'll treat you to a drink. If your date goes well, we'll treat you to a drink. If you just want a drink for the sake of it... hey, you get the picture! It's something for both the single and taken alike, and the people of the city seem to be more than happy reminding you of this fact whenever they can.

✗ When it hits noon, all characters who have signed up for blind dates will receive an anonymous text. They will be wished a Happy Valentine's Day, congratulated on their upcoming date, and be asked to arrive at the host club between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. They will be given more instructions upon their arrival. And wear something flattering~! <3

✗ On their arrival to the club, blind date participants will be given a mask to wear. Once they put it on (and ONLY when they put it on), they will be given a number and escorted inside. The tables are covered in tableclothes of varying shades of white, red, and pink, elaborate flower arrangements in the center. While you are waiting for your date, feel free to enjoy the berries and chocolates set at each table, all appropriately cut into hearts and fish.

The meal itself will be three courses - an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The menus offered will be quite broad, noting quite well for allergies. Everything just seems to be very... pink. Even well-cooked meat and dark chocolate delicacies has been given a splash of decorative color in favor of the holiday. Is that candy on the top? Oh well. It doesn't look like a "CALL ME XOXO" heart will really kill you.

Masks will be difficult to take off until at least one course of food has been consumed. It seems like someone wants you to enjoy the spirit of your "blind date"!

A NOTE: The masks will block both identity AND, in some cases, a person's gender, until they are removed. Gender identification will be up to the players!

✗ At 6:30, the club is opened for everyone else. Feel free to adventure up to the bar or glance around at the couples. They might be a little unrecognizable, what, with those strange masks on. They look so familiar, but you just can't place who is who. Oh well. Mingle a bit and solve the mystery with those around you! Have a drink. Talk about your love life or lack thereof. A bartender is always there to lend you an ear.

✗ At 7:00, the tables are cleared, the lighting is dimmed down, music is turned up, and the center of the club becomes a dance floor! Plush red couches line the edges for those that have had a rough night, and small tables of chocolates, sweets, heart-shaped h'orderves and various colors of roses dot the area. Locals are working alongside the host club and maid cafe to make sure things are kept in stock. No getting close to the bar if you're under-aged or we may just have to end your evening right here and now!

[He totally didn't sign up for this at all. Blame it on his friend who likes to make his life difficult. He would have preferred to skip the evening all together, but after much thought he decides to go. Not showing up at all would be rude, and there's still the chance he could meet a nice, beautiful lady. So here he is, trying to be friendly for his date's sake. He'll track down whoever signed him up for this later.

He's getting annoyed at the mask, though. It's difficult to wear both it and his glasses at the same time.]

[Ky doesn't have an interest in dating himself, although he can guess who would think that he should. Why Zelos doesn't seem able to understand that Ky is content to do his duty and devote his life to it, Ky doesn't know. He couldn't ask someone to come second, but he couldn't put them first. And this place just makes things more complicated, with the possibility for people to return to their own worlds.

He hadn't intended to even show up, but he finds himself here all the same, to be handed a mask and gestured to a table.

This feels so awkward, and he isn't sure what to do, so he inclines his head at the person waiting there, regarding their mask from behind his own. What a strange way of doing things.]

[The sad part was, Shiro wasn't entirely sure if Ky was a guy or a girl. He didn't know that the masks were conveniently obscuring that fact for the sake of lols an interesting date, so he just thought Ky was an extremely androgynous girl. He didn't yet know just how cruel of a mistress Vatheon could be, so he was assuming he got paired up with a woman for this date.

When Ky didn't speak up, Shiro took it upon himself to get things started.]

So...tell me about yourself?

[Shiro is fine with sharing too, but he's better at listening than talking, so he'll let Ky go first.]

[It likely helped -- or hurt -- that Ky was wearing the Sacred Order uniform, same as he always did, which would obscure breasts if he had them, but somehow managed to over-emphasize his hips as he took a seat at the table.]

Aah.

[A simple enough request, yes, but Ky was on the verge of walking out on this. What was the point, what was the purpose? He didn't want to embarrass Zelos by walking out, but he was feeling fairly embarrassed himself. At least he could answer this, and this "date" likely would come to a conclusion on its own. This man had likely been signed up by someone else as well and was only being polite... That made Ky feel a bit better.]

I'm a leader of the Defense Force here, and I was a police officer on my own world. I've been in Vatheon for 13 months now. Yourself?

[Yeah there was no way Shiro's gender would be ambiguous here, what with the beard and all.]

13 months? That's quite a long time. I've only been here about a month or so myself. I got here right before that mess with the dreams.

[He's heard of the Defense Force from Hubert, but he wasn't aware of how many people were involved in it.]
