EVENT - VALENTINE'S DAY

◣ VALENTINE'S PARTY ◢

✗ The host club's doors are closed for most of the morning, locals scurrying in and out with an odd flair to help set up for the big event. That sure is a lot of pink and red being carted inside. They must be going all out for this Zelos fellow. Who knows why.

Residents that wander around the plaza for any reason will find a local approaching them, hyping up some aspect of the party that might appeal to them. The lights, the music, the dancing! The chance for gossip! Here, if your date goes poorly, we'll treat you to a drink. If your date goes well, we'll treat you to a drink. If you just want a drink for the sake of it... hey, you get the picture! It's something for both the single and taken alike, and the people of the city seem to be more than happy reminding you of this fact whenever they can.

✗ When it hits noon, all characters who have signed up for blind dates will receive an anonymous text. They will be wished a Happy Valentine's Day, congratulated on their upcoming date, and be asked to arrive at the host club between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. They will be given more instructions upon their arrival. And wear something flattering~! <3

✗ On their arrival to the club, blind date participants will be given a mask to wear. Once they put it on (and ONLY when they put it on), they will be given a number and escorted inside. The tables are covered in tableclothes of varying shades of white, red, and pink, elaborate flower arrangements in the center. While you are waiting for your date, feel free to enjoy the berries and chocolates set at each table, all appropriately cut into hearts and fish.

The meal itself will be three courses - an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The menus offered will be quite broad, noting quite well for allergies. Everything just seems to be very... pink. Even well-cooked meat and dark chocolate delicacies has been given a splash of decorative color in favor of the holiday. Is that candy on the top? Oh well. It doesn't look like a "CALL ME XOXO" heart will really kill you.

Masks will be difficult to take off until at least one course of food has been consumed. It seems like someone wants you to enjoy the spirit of your "blind date"!

A NOTE: The masks will block both identity AND, in some cases, a person's gender, until they are removed. Gender identification will be up to the players!

✗ At 6:30, the club is opened for everyone else. Feel free to adventure up to the bar or glance around at the couples. They might be a little unrecognizable, what, with those strange masks on. They look so familiar, but you just can't place who is who. Oh well. Mingle a bit and solve the mystery with those around you! Have a drink. Talk about your love life or lack thereof. A bartender is always there to lend you an ear.

✗ At 7:00, the tables are cleared, the lighting is dimmed down, music is turned up, and the center of the club becomes a dance floor! Plush red couches line the edges for those that have had a rough night, and small tables of chocolates, sweets, heart-shaped h'orderves and various colors of roses dot the area. Locals are working alongside the host club and maid cafe to make sure things are kept in stock. No getting close to the bar if you're under-aged or we may just have to end your evening right here and now!

[ Oh, he is going to kill whoever thought this was funny. He had been debating with himself if he was going to go or not, or if he should post an angry message on the network, or try to hunt down whoever signed him up for this. But ultimately, he gave in.

After all, nobody would ever fess up to it, and there were at least three likely culprits. Rather than kill all three of them in case he got one of them wrong, he just decided to show up anyway. This was the only way he was going to find out who really set him up on a stupid date with someone who is most likely going to turn out to be a human.

So, when and if Minako shows up, she'll find what looks like a kid seated at her table, arms crossed, and mask on. He's not even trying to make eye contact. He just looks incredibly angry, as if he'd rather be anywhere in the world but here. But hey... he did willingly show up, didn't he? ]

[Minako was rather glad she signed herself up, after all Valentines day was the best time of the year as it was to do with the one thing she loved the most; love. Not really knowing what to expect when she first arrived, it didn't matter, she was still excited never the less.

She wondered just who they could be as she made sure she had put her mask on before being shown to the table. Well, she was at least glad someone was there. Time to talk to them at least as she sat down.]

Hello there. It's nice to meet you. [She kept up her chipper persona, but for now she had no idea who was behind the mask, she didn't even know if she might know them or not.]

[ In ways only RP mechanics can explain, he couldn't identify the person who just approached him. His arms were still crossed, and he was hunched over. He took a moment to glance at the person that addressed him, but shortly after, looked away. ]

I'm not here because I want to be. [ Actually, he told Zelos he wanted nothing to do with this. Zelos may have said he didn't want to 'inflict him' on anyone else, but this was exactly the kind of thing he would do to spite him. But then again, there were others who would do this because they think it would be nice or somehow good for him (Lloyd and Zelda come to mind), or for some other reason that makes sense only in their own mind. ]

I-I'm not even hungry. I don't even want to be on a date! Human holidays are so stupid.

[Keeping her hands together on the table as she listened to what she was going to assume was him complaining about not wanting to be here and calling the holiday stupid. This cause her to twitch behind the mask. No one calls her favorite holiday stupid.]

Hey! Valentine's Day isn't stupid. It's the one day girls can stop being so shy and show their crush just how much they care by giving chocolates, in the hopes that their feelings can be returned.

[After that outburst she covered her mouth with a closed hand, moving off the subject.]

Anyway I thought people who were doing this signed themselves up willingly. So why are you here if you didn't want to be?

[ Mithos sighs, and crosses his arms even tighter across his chest, to the point where he can feel his Cruxis Crystal under his shirt. ]

Someone else signed me up for this. [ He doesn't know who, but he's too prideful to just get up and walk out now that he has a date, even if he doesn't want one. The 'challenge accepted' mindset. ]

Y-Yeah, well... I don't even know why someone thinks I need to go on a date so badly. [ Didn't end well with Sophie, and even though he doesn't consider it a date (and likely, neither does she) Washu was more the drag-you-around-by-the-wrist type. ]

Maybe they want you to find happiness, after all isn't that what love makes people feel?

[Though it may come with some hardships, it's what she believed. She looked to the side.] I wonder when the food will come. I#'m getting hungry.

[ Well, when she puts it like that, that leaves Zelda as a likely culprit. Even if, realistically speaking, the idea of him falling in love after one date was nonsense. ]

I don't care about that. I just want my sister back.

[ He glances towards the area near the kitchen, but then looks back at Minako again. ]

I don't know. I don't need to eat.

Is your sister not here in the bubble then?

[She tilts her head. She knew people didn't have those they knew with them, but it doesn't stop her from asking.]

Also you don't need to eat, that's like impossible, of course you need to eat. It would be weird if you don't. Unless your a plant, but that would be weird... [She leans in slightly.]

You're not a plant are you?

[ Low blow, Minako. He could feel his anger rising quickly just from being asked that. Was Martel here... if she was... if she was...

But that anger is quickly replaced by bewilderment and sheer 'wtf.' A plant? He says he doesn't need to eat, and that's the first explanation she arrives at? ]

What? No, I'm not--... [ Should he tell her? Well, he knows her type. She's only the third person like this he's talked to since arriving here. ] I'm an angel. [ He considers himself more of a half-elf and still has nothing even resembling a god complex, but it's true. ]

My body is inorganic. The Cruxis Crystal gives my body all it needs to stay alive.

An angel? [Well given her world seemed to have Sailors mostly, she hadn't been sure if an angel could be a real thing or not, but she certainly knew one thing, angels are mentioned in her mangas she would read every so often, so she at least believed she knew what they were.]

I thought angels were something that had died...Not sure I've ever heard of the something Crystals before. [She had taken that to mind, but better to retain a somewhat dumb appearance.] Though I can honestly say I would have never thought I'd see an angel... So what is it like?

No. We made ourselves into angels with Cruxis Crystals. [ Though, technically, they're not really angels. Just evolved half-elves who took advantage of their new angelic appearance to play on superstition to assert themselves into a position of near-unquestioned power over humans so that he can carry out his master plan. ]

What does it matter? I'm a half-elf, too. Humans hate me just because of that.

You sound like something from one of those fantasy books or manga. [Though a rather confusing one for that matter. Half elf and angel...how is that even possible. Minako isn't sure if she wants to think about that or not.] I don't see why elves are hated, I'm pretty sure they're popular somewhere. [Mostly people of the geek variety she was sure of it.]

I hope that's a good thing. [ Never heard of either of those. he isn't sure whether that's a compliment or an insult. ]

Humans and elves never liked each other. Half-elves are hated by everyone.

It's a good thing.

Why's that? [She leaned in slightly, she actually was curious and maybe wanted to understand people outside her own world, at least for the meantime anyway.] I would have thought humans at least wouldn't hate so much.

W-whatever. [ Were it not for the mask, it would be clear he as blushing. After all of his time spent here, he still can't accept compliments, though he's getting better at it. ]

That's how they've always been. They hate everything that isn't like them. And they killed my sister.

What?! [She looked rather shocked. That was horrible.] they killed her?! That's terrible and not right, not when you might not have done anything.

We saved them. They repaid us by killing her.

[ He's silent for a few seconds. But then... ]

... but I made them pay. Over, and over again.

[She was rather stunned to say the least. That didn't sound good, that didn't sound good at all.]

While that is indeed horrible what they did, making them repay in whatever way you did, though I must admit doesn't sound good, it still doesn't make things better.

[ Oh, it wasn't. His master plan included genocide to harvest human souls to artificially turn everyone into the same emotionless, zombie-like race so that prejudiced not only didn't exist anymore, but was literally impossible. Millions of humans are now dead because of him. ]

My sister wanted a world without discrimination. But that won't ever happen voluntarily. The only way to get people to accept each other is to force them to.

Forcing someone is pretty much taking away free will and that's just not right. A person force loses who they are and that's unfair. [She would't of liked to be a mindless zombie like all the rest, that's just a horrible thought.]

Anything is better than what they were doing before.

But there are also better ways than that.

[Thankfully the first meals had finally came out. Minako was kind of relieved, she was getting hungry.]

[ Mithos looks down at the food. He never had much of an appetite, and his Cruxis Crystal meant he didn't even have to eat to live. But, for appearance's sake... he picked up his fork and knife, and began cutting into it. ]

So what about you?

[ He hasn't asked a whole lot about her, yet. ]

What do you do? Where are you from?

[You would think after what they were just talking about, Minako wouldn't eat, but it's far from that as she picks up the fork and started eating. In between bites she at least talks, making sure to swallow before then.]

I don't do anything, I was a student where I was from, but I'm planning on becoming an idol. [She smiles, tilting her head.] As for where I'm from, Tokyo, Japan.
