◣ VALENTINE'S PARTY ◢

✗ The host club's doors are closed for most of the morning, locals scurrying in and out with an odd flair to help set up for the big event. That sure is a lot of pink and red being carted inside. They must be going all out for this Zelos fellow. Who knows why.

Residents that wander around the plaza for any reason will find a local approaching them, hyping up some aspect of the party that might appeal to them. The lights, the music, the dancing! The chance for gossip! Here, if your date goes poorly, we'll treat you to a drink. If your date goes well, we'll treat you to a drink. If you just want a drink for the sake of it... hey, you get the picture! It's something for both the single and taken alike, and the people of the city seem to be more than happy reminding you of this fact whenever they can.

✗ When it hits noon, all characters who have signed up for blind dates will receive an anonymous text. They will be wished a Happy Valentine's Day, congratulated on their upcoming date, and be asked to arrive at the host club between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. They will be given more instructions upon their arrival. And wear something flattering~! <3

✗ On their arrival to the club, blind date participants will be given a mask to wear. Once they put it on (and ONLY when they put it on), they will be given a number and escorted inside. The tables are covered in tableclothes of varying shades of white, red, and pink, elaborate flower arrangements in the center. While you are waiting for your date, feel free to enjoy the berries and chocolates set at each table, all appropriately cut into hearts and fish.

The meal itself will be three courses - an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The menus offered will be quite broad, noting quite well for allergies. Everything just seems to be very... pink. Even well-cooked meat and dark chocolate delicacies has been given a splash of decorative color in favor of the holiday. Is that candy on the top? Oh well. It doesn't look like a "CALL ME XOXO" heart will really kill you.

Masks will be difficult to take off until at least one course of food has been consumed. It seems like someone wants you to enjoy the spirit of your "blind date"!

A NOTE: The masks will block both identity AND, in some cases, a person's gender, until they are removed. Gender identification will be up to the players!

✗ At 6:30, the club is opened for everyone else. Feel free to adventure up to the bar or glance around at the couples. They might be a little unrecognizable, what, with those strange masks on. They look so familiar, but you just can't place who is who. Oh well. Mingle a bit and solve the mystery with those around you! Have a drink. Talk about your love life or lack thereof. A bartender is always there to lend you an ear.

✗ At 7:00, the tables are cleared, the lighting is dimmed down, music is turned up, and the center of the club becomes a dance floor! Plush red couches line the edges for those that have had a rough night, and small tables of chocolates, sweets, heart-shaped h'orderves and various colors of roses dot the area. Locals are working alongside the host club and maid cafe to make sure things are kept in stock. No getting close to the bar if you're under-aged or we may just have to end your evening right here and now!

[Not being one to pass up the bar, Angelo goes over to it and drinks to his heart's content for the rest of the evening. He would go out onto the dance floor, but he's not exactly that much of a dancer. So instead, he'll sit at the bar to watch everyone else. Anyone is also allowed to come up and pester him if they wish to.]

[Serph has stepped away from Sera in order to get a drink for her, but when he spots Angelo, he takes a brief detour and approaches, greeting him with a nod.]

[Angelo is downing drinks as well to forget his date for the evening, it's something he'd rather forget. However, he hears Serph approach him and turns to look at him.]

Having a boring evening, Serph? [His eyes also notice Serph is wearing the suit he bought for him.] Ah, I see you're also wearing the suit I bought for you, so you like it that much huh?

[Serph stands by the counter, waiting for service since the bar seems to be quite busy. Meanwhile, he answers Angelo's question.]

It was suitable for the occasion.

My evening has been well.

[He tilts his head, silently asking Angelo the same of his evening.]

[ Ronald would normally have a date tonight but maybe he's been slipping. At any rate, he was never one to miss a party. Call it being an open agent for whoever needed a date and hadn't been set up yet. But he's scanning the crowd, almost the same way any hunter would for prey -- or any lonely heart looking for a familiar face. ]

So perhaps Selphie hadn't met the love of her life at her dinner date, and by now she was feeling completely foolish for thinking that it was possible. Still, Selphie was ever hopeful, and she'd got herself all dressed up so she might as well linger around.

For the evening's celebrations, Selphie has got rid of her usual pastel colours, and has adopted a rather flattering red cocktail dress. Her legs are bare, and she's found that she can walk surprisingly well in her matching black sandals. Getting ready was a nightmare, but the curls in her hair and the delicate makeup seem to have been a reasonable success.

Struck by a fear of being so dressed up, Selphie made her way to the bar. Fortified by a fizzy cocktail, she lingered by the dance floor, startled wide eyes watching couples across the room - people clearly in love, people flirting. If nothing exciting happens in the next twenty minutes, Selphie has decided, then she'll just head home and admit defeat.

Blind date over and mask off, Izumo walks towards the dance floor, his drink glass still in hand. He spots Selphie who looks pretty cute in that red dress. She's kinda young for him, but she also looks rather lonely. And no girl should have to feel lonely on Valentine's Day.

So, he strolls up beside her and leans in with his usual warm smile.

"How dare your date leave you alone. Someone could come steal you away from him while he's gone."

Selphie had been surveying the dancefloor, watching the successful girls, and still wondering what they were doing that worked, what it was that she wasn't doing. She was just about ready to grab someone and ask when Izumo appeared beside her.

Selphie smiles up at him, amused by his comment. She shakes her head lightly, laughing gently, "I guess they could."

Don't think Izumo didn't catch that bit of surveying you were doing, Selphie. He's fairly quick to notice and read a situation. It's what comes along with being second in command to Mikoto Suou.

"If he's not back by the next song, mind if I take that opportunity?"

[Since the poor saps--uh--blind date attendees were all served up and winding down, Jade was left with hanging at the edges of the dance floor curiously watching everyone. Sure, as a kawaii waitress, Mephisto laid out their duties as service with a smile and possibly flirting with the dateless so they feel less lonely but uh--

Jade wouldn't know a thing about flirting if it smacked her in the face. To be frank, it seemed a little silly. She spent more time talking to the other servers than any of the attendees if she was being honest here.

--What. Where were her thoughts going. Right, watching the people. Ouch, that one just stepped on his partner's foot, geeeeez.]

[ Okay so that was... significantly less painful than he thought it would be, but it was still the most awkward moment of his entire life. As soon as he was able to (and out of line of sight of any other attendees), Bon had his mask removed and returned.

The weirdest part of the evening was no one recognizing him. Not even Jade, who had flitted past their table several times without a word. She looked like she was just about as comfortable here as he was.

He approaches her from the side, making sure he's visible enough not to startle her before he greets her. Dressed for comfort more than style, he was still dressed up enough for the event in his dark vest and slacks. He lifts a hand in greeting when he gets close. ]

[Heyyyy, it's a friend! That's something she wasn't expecting to see here.]

How long have you been here, Ryuuji?

[He doesn't exactly strike her as the type to, uh...go cruising? Is that the right word for it?]

...And why? I mean, yeah, Rin staying at home with his girlfriend might be hard to ignore but why come here?

[One of Sera's dreams is to be a princess, just like in the stories she had heard before the tragedy in her world. Dr. Sheffield and Dr. O'Brien always played the part of the princes in her imagination, with Serph of course being the good and kinder prince to start.

Today, she gets to live that dream for the evening; the masquerade held months ago was so much fun that she wanted to participate again. She's wearing a lovely carnation pink ball gown with a simple white eye mask, adorned tastefully with a few soft feathers. Serph has agreed to wear a nice tuxedo. He may not realize it, but these simple things are a big deal to her.

Hopefully he'll feel comfortable enough to dance with her for a bit too.]

[That's right, Serph's wearing the suit Angelo had given him for Christmas. When the lights dim and it becomes obvious it's time for people to get onto the floor and dance, Serph holds out a hand for Sera to take. He tilts his head in a silent request for a dance, the smallest of smiles turning up the corners of his mouth.]

[Sera is delighted by Serph playing along, and takes his hand with a soft giggle. She remembers to place her other hand at his side; a proper dancing position, or at least the one she was in before.]

[ He's been here from the start, really but buggered if anyone really knew why. You may have seen him around during your date, he may have walked by your table or sat down looking cute but declining any offer of scraps. At any rate, he's sitting on the bartop which is possibly the best observational spot anyone can get for a little dog.

But he's pleased. Tonight was a success and his darling belles looked absolutely adorable. You can tell by the way his tail's wagging though his face looks as impassive as ever. Far less expressive than his normal form, to be sure.

He's mostly here for observational purposes... both to see how his girls did the entire night and how those blind dates he signed certain people up for worked out. You're welcome, Bon and Shiro. ]

[You know, Shiro honestly had no idea who had signed him up for this blind date, not until he looked over to the bar and suddenly familiar dog. All it takes is one look, and suddenly Shiro knows. There's nobody else who could have done this, and he feels silly for not realizing this sooner.

He's not approaching or saying anything, but from his table he shoots Mephisto a judging look. There will be words later.]

[ You can have all the words you want with him later, Shiro. Just enjoy the evening. Of course, his first words will probably be "how was it" when you finally decide to take him aside.

There's a small little tail thump at that and just the most innocent "I am but a small dog" look though. ]

[You don't fool him. He's been around long enough to know your tricks. So he discreetly shakes his head at Mephisto, as if to say "I don't believe you."]

*Selphie needs another drink - this was beginning to look like it would be a long night. Just one more drink, and really if by then things didn't get more interesting she would take herself home.

But look! There's a really cute dog just sitting on the bar. It's quite an amusing-looking dog, but as Selphie sits on a stool, she can't resist talking to it*

You didn't get a date tonight either, huh?

[ He tilts his head with the softest whine at that question but doesn't budge from where he sits. Instead, there's a tiny thump of his tail in response before he shifts his position to face Selphie completely. ]

*Selphie smiles at the dog, petting it on the and rubbing her hand down its body*
