01 - a cassock would probably be very heavy if it were drenched like this
Who: Shiro Fujimoto, plus anyone who happens to come across him
When: Very shortly after his arrival
Where: The plaza
Style: setup is prose, but I am open to prose or action
Status: Open to everyone!
In the plaza that afternoon, there was a man. He appeared to be middle-aged, around fifty or so, though his hair had gone almost completely grey already. He was also very obviously a priest of some sort, what with his priestly garb and the rosary hanging around his neck and all.
Said old man also happens to be drenched from head-to-toe, and he doesn't look too happy about that fact.
He was very obviously confused, and he took a moment to look around and take in his surroundings, following the trails of coral to the huge piece right in the middle of the plaza. There he stopped and stared at it in disbelief. Then he took a cloth out of one of his pockets, removed his glasses, and attempted to clean the water droplets from the lenses. Of course, the cloth was wet too, so it just smeared around the water and did little to help. The man frowned at this, but he still put his glasses back on.
Finally he looked back at the big coral in the middle, and he said, "Well. This sure is...something." He was talking more to himself than anyone around him, but he could easily be heard.
He has a lot of questions, and once he's done staring in disbelief at the coral, he'll be looking for friendly faces in the crowd to bug for answers. He's still convinced this is the afterlife, though this isn't what he expected to find in heaven (or hell).

He brightens up again pretty quickly.]
Kuro! Now there's someone I haven't seen in a while. How is he doing?
no subject
But Kid might have been crumpled on the ground beating it with a fist and quietly weeping a little.
Maybe.
Okay, definitely. He has since regained his composure, because wow, this is a time to be concerned with Rin, not whether or not other people believe in grim reapers.]
Nekomata, to be precise. And quite the loyal companion. Now, if only something could be done about that tooth...
[He blinks.] You know him?
no subject
But Kuro is doing fine, he's happy--or at least I hope he is. Aaaand I'm not sure if this was a thing you are aware of, but he's Rin's familiar. I'm not entirely sure what that means in the context of demons since Rin is not a witch, but never mind.
no subject
Jade is right anyway, most exorcists are on good terms with at least a few demons. Not all of them are bad.
no subject
[Wait.
He's known the two of them since they were so young. He mentioned he remembered dying. He's an exorcist--]
Don't tell me, you're-- Rin's father?!
[And Yukio too but man he doesn't even know that guy.]
no subject
[Oh god and she accused him of wanting to kill Rin!!!]
I'm soooo sorry, Mr. Fujimoto! I shouldn't have been so suspicious of you!
no subject
Yes. Well, I'm his adoptive father, but that still counts.
[He only specifies that because they had just been discussing Satan being Rin's father.]
no subject
[He's so quick to dismiss Satan's role. For one, Satan is but a mythological figure in his world, and for another, Shiro's been the only one that mattered so very much to his friend.
Therefore, he's granted a certain relevancy.]
I apologize. If I had realized sooner... goodness, someone should tell Rin. Jade, do you know if he's already left for work?
no subject
...Kid, don't you think this is something Rin should find out for himself? It seems very nosy to just drop a bomb like that on him when we don't have a connection like he does to his dad.
[Basically she wouldn't want one of her friends going "yo Harley your dead grandpa's here" in the (incredibly unlikely) event that her grandpa DID show up, and Rin is a lot more sensitive than he first appears so...]

I'll go find him and talk to him. Where does he work?
no subject
[Genuinely flummoxed by Jade's suggestion, he cups his chin with a hand, giving this further consideration.]
Ah, that's right, come to think of it, he reacted poorly to learning about the other that way, too.
[But then Shiro's asking a question, and like any good student, he is swift to answer.]
Rin? He works at a host club here in Vatheon.
no subject
[And Jade is similarly quick to cover a friend's ass after a compromising statement!]
no subject
Girlfriend?!
Look at this man's face. Just look at it. You're going to give him a heart attack.]
Sounds like we're going to have a lot to talk about. Where is this host club?
no subject
[He hasn't noticed Shiro's shock or potential distress, naturally.]
I've never visited the host club, so I'm afraid I'm not sure of its location, but I can go ask Maka.
no subject
[Sure have started talking like Shiro's no longer there. Whoops.]

[Kid points at the empty space that was once occupied by one (1) Rin's Adopted Dad.]
We've lost him. Should we track him down?
no subject
no subject
[That is, to go put a hand on that sprawling coral and get rid of this nagging headache he's had since his post-curse cleaning spree of the villa.]
You visited the coral already, I hope?
no subject
[Shrug!
Oh also since everything is tied up here, she's gonna teleport on out, laters.]
no subject
[Ah--she left. While it occurs to him to follow, he really needs to go pap that coral for a bit.]
