Who: Shelly and anyone
Location: Plaza
Time: Afternoon
Style: Either
Status: Open
[Standing before the coral with a hand perched on her hip and a megaphone in the other, Shelly, still damp but drier from her sodden arrival, begins her announcement in a firm, less-than-pleased tone as the fairy beside her flutters about quietly.]
Attention [ -- the rest is drowned out by a high-pitched screech as the megaphone adjusts -- ] !
What you have committed is a severely punishable offense that will not go unheard by the Republic's Senate. However, before you respond to the matter of your crime, I demand an explanation.
[She lowers the megaphone, waiting.]

No worries! Welcome, you. /o/
Is that so? Then please do.
Oh good! I've been looking forward to RPing with Shelly!
[And she'll be putting down her bags for a bit.]
First off, you are currently in the underwater city of Vatheon. You were brought here from your own world in order to help power the barrier keeping the water out...just like myself and the other "guests" here.
As far as we know, there is no way out and we are currently speculating who's responsible for this. That being said, the locals of this city have made most of the items in the city free for us. The housing is free as well.
[She stops for a bit.]
And that's the basis of it.
I'm glad and hope that we have fun!
[She lets all of that information sink into her mind. It's a bit much, but she's heard a great deal of unbelievable things to broaden her horizons at this point. She can dig deeper in a bit -- for now, more general information.]
Is there anything else that I should be aware of?
Me too! Since I know Shelly, I'm sure it will be.
[A pause, she stops to think, not wanting to miss anything.]
Well, the coral over there...
[Points to it, behind her]
...is called Lamufao. In this city it is revered as a deity. Considering what I've seen of its powers, however, I cannot rule out the possibility.
[More thinking...]
Oh! Did anyone mention about the tattoo now located on your body?
no subject
What tattoo?
no subject
And now she'll roll up her sleeve to reveal a starfish looking tattoo.]
You should have something like this somewhere on your body. It's used to show we are foreigners, which allows the free housing, food, and the like I mentioned.
Oh, it also glows during so-called "Curse Weeks". In those weeks, strange things happen. Like it snowing in the bubble, for instance.
no subject
Anyway. Besides glowing, do these tattoos serve another purpose? [She'll have to search for hers after this, she notes.]
no subject
[A pause, thinking...]
However, we aren't exactly 100% sure they don't do anything else.

"Mystery" seems to be a popular theme to this place . . .
no subject
Believe me, that's a very accurate description. Once you've been here as long as me, you learn to accept it, though.

Is there absolutely nothing that can be done for the Republic while I'm here? I can't afford to be absent for longer than even a day.
no subject
Actually, you reminded me of something important. You see, time doesn't pass in our worlds while we are here. Because if it did, it would ruin the timeline. If someone were to observe it, however, we would have already been returned to our world, even if we are still here.
So you have nothing to worry about. Regardless of what happens here, your Republic will be there as if you never left.
no subject
But only a little. [She appears amused.] Even if there's nothing to worry about, as the head senator I am obligated to attend my duties as effectively and quickly as possible. After all, time still flows through my eyes.
no subject
But at any rate, there's a bigger matter at hand, your residency. We can't just let you sleep in a tree.
[A giggle.]
I could help you find an apartment. Or if you like, you could stay with me. I have an extra room available, ever since my roommate left.
no subject
I'm sure I could find something better than a tree if I resorted to staying outdoors. But really? You don't seem at all concerned about keeping a stranger for a roommate.
no subject
[And she gives a smile.]
Not at all. I have the space, you could use someone to help you around the city, and I would love the company. It's a win-win situation.
As for the stranger part, I can tell you are trustworthy. Nothing for me to worry about, really.

[And all the flattery, oh, yes, how nice. It's a bonus that Rhi'a doesn't give off a sneaky vibe like the corrupt senators did, which makes believing her words much easier. Shelly smiles.]
But first, I believe proper introductions are in order. I am Shelly Greenhill, the Turemilian Republic's director.
no subject
Indeed, they are. It's nice to meet you, Shelly Greenhill, I am Rhi'a Dragunel, at your service.

no subject
Oh! Right, I need to show you where it is. Okay, just follow me.
[And she'll turn into the direction of the apartment.]
no subject
Just out of plain curiosty, is there anyway to get a hold of you?
[And guide she shall! Leading Shelly through the plaza, past the shops, and over to the residency section. After passing a few of them, they come to Yutopil apartments and Rhi'a guides her to the first room in the hallway, Room 1, floor 1.]
Here we are. This is my apartment...well, the door to it anyway.
[And she pulls out her key, opens the door and holds it for Shelly.]
no subject
[She steps inside. The apartment is a sleek and pretty one in design, and quite roomy-seeming despite the overall thinness of each apartment. A moment later, she turns to Rhi'a with her assessment.]
How charming.
[It really is a nice place.]
