[Standing before the coral with a hand perched on her hip and a megaphone in the other, Shelly, still damp but drier from her sodden arrival, begins her announcement in a firm, less-than-pleased tone as the fairy beside her flutters about quietly.]

Attention [ -- the rest is drowned out by a high-pitched screech as the megaphone adjusts -- ] !

What you have committed is a severely punishable offense that will not go unheard by the Republic's Senate. However, before you respond to the matter of your crime, I demand an explanation.

[She lowers the megaphone, waiting.]

[Now where was that a common term? Ah, yes. In no way a judgment or otherwise, she simply stated with a look of interest:]

[It could be used for other things, like lovers, but such a usage has been verging on the obsolete. She at least never hears it in that manner from all her years in the Senate.]

Ya got it. Not like it's any sort of thing that is new round these parts. This place seems full of hot headed folks and some samurai lot. Also kids and gray colored ones with these horn that resembles awful candy ya find round shops.

[Ring ring, Gamzee. And Faris flipped the SFC over to show the lady his screen.]

[Takes a little bit for him too answer. Hey, it's Gamzee, okay? he's not the quickest. But when he does, there you have him, ladies: all grey skinned (well face paint covered, but grey skin elsewhere, candycorn horns and a goofy lazy smile that shows of a whole bunch of them sharp chompers.]

[Minding the lass but not remarking upon it, Shelly focused on the screen with a slightly wary look.

Then what he was talking about appeared, and she could only stare, slowly taking in the odd details that were clearly not those of a human. Yet it looked like a boy. What was it?]

[ . . . Is this customary for the boy? To just stare? Perhaps she should say something, but she wasn't the one who summoned him.

Raising her head, she glances at Farris. You win, Gamzee.]

[And the pirate won too. Faris looked pretty amused at that. Flipping the SFC over, to give a wave to the clown.]

That'll do. [And buh bai. Click. Faris ended the feed.]

[Shelly smiled despite herself, amused by how Faris simply hung up on the boy. She would concede defeat quietly this one time.]

He wasn't very responsive.

He probably doesn't have the foggiest. He seems easy. [A shrug. Maybe another time, if the kid is curious, he'll explain. But not his problem now.]

Other than the others dragged here like yourself, the only other odd thing is the monthly things that hit. [A pause.] Like the all of the singing that happened a bit of time back.

[All of this was coming too fast, but Shelly supposed this was better than taking this way too slowly. She'd already heard such unbelievable things back home. She could deal with a little more.]
