While the villains are away...

Seems like crime has taken a step up from just purse-snatching or someone stealing forty cakes when no one was looking. Those with a great sense of hearing or who happen to be at the wrong place at the right time will find that the good people of Vatheon are in danger. It's up to anyone who is willing to help to work together to save the day!

-Carol-

[In the lower district there were these warehouses lining along the barrier’s wall. One of them had a large neon sign with the words “Villains are here” flashing in lights. Anyone investigating the outside of the building will hear someone yelling for help.

Even if it’s obviously a trap, a hero must do their duty. And maybe clues about the real location of the nest of villains could be found.

The warehouse has been converted to a giant fun house with Indiana Jone’s Raiders of the Last Ark type traps. Getting help with navigating through this maze of traps and nurse themed goons would definitely be a good idea.

At the end of the maze, should people succeed, they will find Carol.]

-Hostage Hotel-

[A message will flash across the Starfish communicator asking for help.]

Help. At the Hotel they have guns

[Any messages sent in response will not be answered.

Seems that the city’s hotel has been taken over. The police are making a barrier and trying to negotiate, without any luck, with the crooks. They have the hotel owners and a their guests hostage on the top floor. They are armed, and very dangerous. Their demands include an escape route and a suitcase full of money.

Are you there to save the day or just get the scoop? Work together with the police or other heroes to save the day.]

-Like a bandit-

[There seems to be a burglar committing a string of crimes. They stole a rather large diamond from the jewelry store, money from the casino, and snatched a vase from an auction house. Thy only thing was a picture or a riddle for the scene of the next crime. The police are refusing to release the previous clues, but a reporter has managed to get a picture of the new message.]

What has branches and leaves and no bark?

-Anonymous Voice-

[A voice can be heard over everyone's communicator in the morning.]

There are twenty bombs hidden all over the city’s park. They will go off in a half hour. Find them before someone gets hurt.

[The caller might be using a synthesizer to disguise their voice, but locating them shouldn’t be a priority yet. Get those bombs out of the park before time runs out. Super speed or getting help would be beneficial for the ducks. Think of the ducks please.]

[They may also wind up stumbling or following a goon back to the actual secret base to listen in on a meeting at their own risk. Good luck!

[Of course Big Shot notices the strange animal behavior. It's far too familiar to him.]

[The walking tank of a mech suit stops just inside the building, reaching up with surprising delicacy towards a fairly odd spider that was way too far away from its nest. Be his guide, little guy?]

[The spider doesn't flee at all, oddly enough, and instead looks at him rather inquisitively before starting to move away, heading down a wall, it takes a little bit, it's small, yo, but eventually a slight coo is heard from ahead.]

[Looks like... a pigeon sitting on the ground ahead?]

[A ways away, there's a chuckle. Not that Big Shot's anywhere near it enough to hear it.]

[He will accept a pigeon friend! Big Shot is used to birds now, considering the kind of pets his children love. (Hint: giant feathery jerks.) He follows the spider slowly, something already a given considering the suit is made for STRENGTH and not speed, and nods when he sees the pigeon. He's assuming that he'll realize what's going on soon enough, and just puts his faith in a certain someone he can't see.]

[The pigeon hops and little, before taking flight. But instead of flying ahead, it moves to fly around the large man following it. Weird.]

Nice nice. [Said to himself, still no where near. But they can save all that till later. The pigeon then starts to move ahead. A few more rats can be seen here and there. Eventually they stop moving though, an one of the small rodents squeaks near a very wide panel on the floor. Infact, there's a few wall to wall step panels on the ground ahead, they look a bit different from the usual floor... That and the rats very delicately crawl along edges just off the panels to get past them to normal looking floor.]

[For a brief moment, Darkleer is confused and just stands still for the pigeon to finish its inspection. Being a totally innocent sort (totally), he's under the assumption that there's a good reason for this! And not that he's being checked out.]

[It's a relief when they start moving again, Darkleer keeping just as careful an eye out for things. It helps him spot the rats ahead of time, along with the panels they draw attention to. He scoffs under his breath. Well, that's an obvious one- but this entire building hasn't been subtle, so. After a moment of inspection, he decides that, so long as he doesn't come back this way, the quickest option is simply to hop over them. It looks a little silly, but he has long legs, and it works out well enough for him.]

[Once he finds the person in distress, he'll just... bust down a wall, or something. Sometimes you have to go simple.]

[Not subtle at all, 'Indian Jones' could definitely be used to describe this place, IC and OOC honestly.]

[The hopping's a bit funny, but all right, the rats keep moving, the pigeon taking a comfortable place on Big Shot's shoulder. Big Shot, is familiar, seen on the news and such, but then, seen a lot of heroes and that on the news, just a common thing here.]

[Th next trap's a series of smaller panels on the ground, harder to jump over unless you have some really tiny feet. Good luck big guy.]

[Infact, the rats are gonna make it harder on you too, getting in the way here and there, running around fast.]

[Alright, no, he doesn't think so. Big Shot is definitely not going to do that kind of silliness, especially not when his bulk guarantees failure. Instead, he gives a small sigh and directs a question to the rats.]

Could you possibly move out of the way?

[Chitter chitter.]

[Run away from him down the hall.]

[Followed by the pigeon.]

I didn't mean to be rude...

[This is the life of a superhero, apologizing to animals. Sigh.]

[Big Shot just kneels down and starts to pry off the start of the panels, making quick work of disabling this particular trap. It's not particularly complicated, really, and it's simply the sheer number of little panels that is the most aggravating part. Still, soon enough he's done, and continues to make his way through the building, keeping an eye out for either a new trap or any of the animals.]

[This guy's funny.]

[At least this rescue's proving fun, more fun than if he had to go in there himself, which he planned to, but- then Big Shot showed up, so that was nice.]

[Done, right. Well- pulling the panels probably wasn't too good of an idea. They're simple, but- from that, really bitchy. And once a panel's yanked up, some -big-mother-fucking-blades- begin to dance back and forth in the hall infront of him. The rats and pigeon are in the clear but- now turn around to watch because wow, good job, buddy.]

[Have fun avoided those 4 or 5 huge blades.]

[Wow, rude, at least he's doing something!!!]

[It would have been preferable if they were blunt weapons, but he supposes it can't be helped. He just rolls his neck as best he can in his suit, and starts to stride forward without fear. Sure, they're big and sharp, but this is a suit meant for defense.]

[The first blade comes swinging in, and he braces himself. There's a screech of metal as it slams into his suit. It holds up, and his stance stays STRONG as he grabs at the handle which holds the blade up to the ceiling. With a grunt, he wrenches it from its holdings. There's some stagger before he rights himself, still holding onto the blade.]

[Subtlety will have to be lost, so he just flings the giant blade straight ahead. More clamorous noise as it crashes into the other blades- breaking some and dislodging others.]

[Oh, he hopes he didn't hurt any of the rats...]

[Huh-]

[Well that sure was a show.]

[Note to self, find out who this guy's tailor is.]

[Not much for keeping on the DL, but hey, it works, he'll give him that.]

[As for the rats? The potential of dying made them skitter away, only to regroup a bit further down, by where the thrown blade landed, and a few others. But that all was loud, and is STILL loud, the various machines in the walls and ceiling put there to move the blades now clunk and grind against bent edges. Let's hope that doesn't bring any attention to them before they get to Carol, hey?]

[Big Shot really should give up on his attempts to be subtle. But still he tries, now and then. Oh how he tries. The property damage usually just goes up.]

[For a brief moment, Big Shot's armored shoulders seem to rise up almost sheepishly, but then he's clanking and hurrying along tdown the hall again. It looks like he'll just have to do things the usual way!]

[Whoa big guy you moving kind of fast! The pigeon decides to take flight and then it's a chase. Looks like Big Shot's going to just run through this place, so he might as well show him the right way to go. Try to keep up.]

[His head jerks up as the pigeon speeds past, and he adjusts his course accordingly.]

Ah, this way, then?

[Nothing but a slight coo in response. Keep up big guy. Sharp right, sharp left, sharp left-]

[Gah, sharp turns, not good! Big Shot skids a little as he makes the turn, thankfully keeping his balance, before continuing to charge ahead- oh. That sure is a minion turning a gun on him further down this path!]

Ah, do watch out.

[Pigeon friend isn't covered in heavy duty armor, after all.]

[Pigeon knew already man, pigeon is sharing vision with someone else, and- someone else and someone else and someone else- and you get the picture. It already knows to dodge, which means all them bullets are for you, man.]

[This curse is really terribly dangerous. They're getting close enough now that Carol can hear the bullets being fired, though she doesn't dare step out and possibly trigger the traps. The hero (heroes?) obviously knows where she is, so she waits patiently.]

[Pigeon has a very impressive social network.]

[Coming to a complete stop, he straightens up and holds one arm out straight. A jolt of energy, and a bow made out of the power forms in his hands. A matching arrow appears when he goes as if to notch it on the bow. He pulls it back and- not a twang, more of a strange kind of jolting noise. The energy arrow goes flying.]

[It doesn't directly hit the goon, because that sort of thing would be terribly dangerous and harmful! The goon looks more human than anything, he doesn't want to do anything horrible. Much. Instead, it hits the area a little behind the goon, and there is just a minor explosion. You know. Nothing big. Just flashy, and enough to send the goon flying.]

[Totally not big.]</small\.

[Whoa now, explosions and bullets? This pigeon is way too small and way in over it's little head. It's gonna hang back now and let some rats work.]

[The rat in Carol's room is still there, for the most part keeping watch, but now it's moving closer to whatever entrance there is to this room in the maze and looking at/into it. The sound of skittering can be heard near too, more rats, moving out into the hall and towards where the explosion happened. A few move into sight after the smoke clears, looking down at Big Shot inquisitively.]

[Explosive arrows- guess that's where the 'Shot' comes into play then.]

[The rat doesn't seem to set off any traps as it skitters toward the door, so after some hesitance, Carol crawls after it on her hands and knees. This is so humiliating, but if there's some sort of sensor up in the air she doesn't want to set it off.

Screw three credits, she should be able to write an entire dissertation on this whole "Vatheon" experience.]

[The bow disappates, and Big Shot just stares at the rats.]

I assume the rest of the hallway is not trapped?

[Or was the goon the trap? Hmm. Either way, he starts to move carefully just in case, although he does want to wrap this up. That was not a very subtle action! More goons might be on the way.]
