All bubbles pop eventually

Yesterday was a day of celebration. For once, it seemed that the foreigners were able to affect the coral, and in a positive way at that. The coral lit back up, the barrier strengthened, and everything looked like it was back to normal again.

Unfortunately, it doesn't last.

Overnight the coral begins to dim again, flickering wildly along with the bubble itself. Those who stayed up on the island might notice the strange lights coming up through the waves if they're awake. The ones who stayed in the bubble will notice more than that. The atmosphere is tense, and every now and then there's an echoing crack, like a massive piece of glass is slowly losing its integrity.

By the time the morning arrives, the crack in the bubble is evident. After hours of threatening it, the crack finally falls open with a thundering snap, allowing the ocean to rush in. It hasn't yet given up entirely, but there's a steady stream of water pouring in to the plaza and on to the coral. The waterfall would be a pretty sight if not for the situation.

Hopefully no one stayed down there that long.

You just like coddling. Didn't you have that little black haired lass for a bit?

[Axel shakes his head... then at the mentioning of Xion his expression softens a little.]

Mm. For a little while.

I had my sister here for a short bit. Still not sure if it's better being here or back home, but it's been pretty interesting.

[Not like he could actually say he wants to be at home. It's confusing and he's enjoying the ride here.]

Though I did get someone important from home after that quest curse.

[Might as well get to know you while we're here. Because why not.]

Lenna. She has pink hair... [Faris will pretty much hold his hand above his own shoulder.] ...that's about this long. She's about four or five inches shorter than me.

[Just admit you want to be buds with the pirate.] She was here back at the end of summer.

[She sounds adorable. As long as she's not Marluxia.]

Cute.

[Laughs then just as he turns his head one way one of the chocobos hops down from his head and straight towards Faris]

Hey, come back here.

[Thank goodness for reflexes! He'll just be reaching down and snatching the little thing up before it lands. Holding it up to his face,]

Don't do stuff like that, you little squirt.

[Marluxia is tall and a dick. Lenna is the sweetest little princess ever!]

Don't get any bright ideas. [Not actually serious since Lenna wasn't there.

And just going to grin as he holds out his hand for the bird.]

Lemme see one of your kids. Athena won't eat them.

[Looking at the Vaporeon.] Right?

[Tall and a dick. Not to be mistaken for a tall dick. Because ew.]

Hmm...

[The blue Chocobo hops around in his hand as he considers handing it over, then beats those little puffy wings when he carefully does so. These things were important to Lea. No way is he going to let something bad happen to them.]

Fine. Just take it easy.

[It could be pretty funny and you wouldn't be able to take him seriously if he was one.

Taking the little guy carefully and letting Athena scope him out as well.]

[A pause as he scratched the bird's head.]

Back where I'm from. A friend left his chocobo with my crew and he met a female.

[flared]

[AHHHH BURN IT. WTF.

And if only you can see the face Axel makes when Faris says that. UH. Ok. We-- Oh. That's what you meant]

Ah. So there's gonna be a lot more of these guys running around.

And gosh! Not like you could get knocked up here otherwise it would probably have been known by now that Faris is a trap!.

Unless it's Athena who is expecting or the cats. Maybe the fish, but Faris doesn't pay them much mind.]

Yeah. [Preening the little guy's back.]

Something like that. Did you have them back in your world?

[Axel shakes his head.]

Nah. Least not from what I've seen. We've got huge bird things... but they're definitely not as tame as these little guys.

[Athena is nosing at Faris' hand. Just lowering it so Athena can investigate the bird again.]

Going to keep 'em after this?

[A nod towards the water.]

[Axel thinks on it for a second... then shrugs.]

Dunno. They get pretty big. It's not like we've got a lot of space in our apartment, y'know?

Still. Guess it would be pretty dumb to just leave them.
