24 - Rogue

[ So Sunday had been a particularly bad day for Duke, although it did end up with him eating a bit more than usual because wow, it should not have been that easy for him to get knocked down-

But monday morning felt fine. Mostly because he got hit with the curse, and once again was able to sprout wings and... ignore any normal needs. Although he did find it a little harder to talk this time... Perhaps he was a different sort of angel? Still had a crystal... Oh well.

This mostly left him with a great deal more hours than he had for the past weeks, and so the ordo-Zel house is swiftly filled with the smells of apples and baking... Because if he remembers the days right, then this is close to that gift-giving holiday and...

He can't really think of much.

The problem with a full twenty four hours to spend doing something is that he ends up with way more apple pies than he has people he knows. Everyone Duke knows the name of gets 1(one) Apple Pie with 1(one) slightly magicked pie tin. The tin will keep the pies at a nice warm temperature, and will do this again if they are cooked in the pie tin. Something to do with "absorbing and storing heat from the oven and giving it slowly back over time", the note explains. Don't make cold pies in this tin, obviously.

This does leave a great deal of pies left over, and after some thought, Duke takes them to the plaza and the coral. This was newcomer time, wasn't it?

Now there's a table with pies, notes attached explaining "keep-warm pie tins", and a small paper sign proclaiming them as free apple pies. Yup. ]

(OOC: FEEL FREE TO FIND HIM DELIVERING PIES TO CHARACTERS WHO HE KNOWS. Just mention "christmas" or something in your tag and I will know it is his gift-giving o/ ANYONE CAN GET PIES FROM THE PLAZA...

[ He'll put the pans in the oven while she does that. ]

Okay, we'll just need to put it in!

[With that, she quickly set on the timer for 30 minutes!]

You know, everything is going great so far! I was worried that something might happen to the cake like if there was going to be too much water or oil...or any of that stuff! But I'm just glad that things are going well!

[ Why are you worried? Duke is going to clean up the bowls now. ]

[Because Bianca is use to being clumsy, something is going to happen!]

I guess but...now we just wait to wait for the next 30 minutes...what are we going to do until then?

[She could walk around the house to see what's Zelda's house is like...or play with her pokemon too...]

... Clean a little. Could pick out a cookie type, if wish to try cooking more, and begin collecting ingredients.

We can try some chocolate cookies if there are some leftovers running around! If not, we can always try to bake something else?

It's up to you, I'm good with whatever you want to do as long as we're baking together!

Soooooo...what do you want to bake?

[ It was mostly ~do stuff to be busy~ really.

But he stops turning on a page with caramel-apple-oatmeal cookies. Are these above teh current skill level? ]

[As she looked more at the page, she narrowed her eyes at it. Hm...]

You want to make this? Do you think we're able to make this, it looks a little difficult!

But we can try, it's better than nothing right?

... at very least, caramel and apples go well together without being cooked.

[ Not that he can currently taste, but now is time to study how much they have of the ingredients.

[As she looked the ingredients, she let out a big "HM...."]

Do we have enough for it? It looks like we're going to need a lot apples and caramel...and sugar. A lot of it!

Do have fresh apples, but caramel.. no.

Hm...then we don't have much of a choice do we?

[Then looks at the entrance door]

We'll need to go shopping won't we? Or we can always find something else to use as a replacement for caramel!

.... Would like to use caramel. [ They have oatmeal. Duke checks that cylinder to make sure its what is required. ]

Wish to go, while I wait for oven to be done? Can make list.

Well, that is true...how much more do we need for it to be done?

We can make a list until then so...

[She quickly gets out her notebook and rips out a piece of paper with a pen]

We'll need Caramel...and what else?

Sugar, white, granulated.

[ He'll start double-checking all the amounts of what is standard. ]

If wish to cook something else after, will need more flour. All-purpose type. May be best to simply restore anyway.

Annnddd got it!

[She said as soon as she's done writing it]

First a cake, then cookies, and then some more baking? We're going to be filled with baking stuff soon if we're going to keep baking!

[But she lets out a giggle]

Maybe it'll be a good way to surprise Zelda when she wakes up!

You mean...you want me to go out and get them while you wait here?

... Do you wish to try to test the cakes for being ready if the timer is done before I return?

Uh no, I'm okay with going out to run around to get the stuff but I'm wondering if they have it or not!

[And that would mean running. Hm...might as well use Stouland for this...]

I wonder if I can make it time because here's no use to eating a cake if it isn't nice and hot!

It may not be done in the first half hour it claims. [ He'll need to test it. ]

Hm...it sounds like I might have plenty of time!

By the time I came back here, it'll just be done soooo I don't have anything to worry about!

[With that, Bianca quickly grabbed her coat and scarf before marching off]

He's cleaning up what they used so they can use it again!



Although by the time she comes back, he's inspecting a toothpick that he just stuck into the cake. ]
