24 - Rogue
Who: Duke and ANYONE
Where: Plaza
When: All week! Monday and Tuesday at intervvals but... just about any time day/night for the rest of the week o/
Style: Brackets, but if you want action, I WILL FOLLOW
[ So Sunday had been a particularly bad day for Duke, although it did end up with him eating a bit more than usual because wow, it should not have been that easy for him to get knocked down-
But monday morning felt fine. Mostly because he got hit with the curse, and once again was able to sprout wings and... ignore any normal needs. Although he did find it a little harder to talk this time... Perhaps he was a different sort of angel? Still had a crystal... Oh well.
This mostly left him with a great deal more hours than he had for the past weeks, and so the ordo-Zel house is swiftly filled with the smells of apples and baking... Because if he remembers the days right, then this is close to that gift-giving holiday and...
He can't really think of much.
The problem with a full twenty four hours to spend doing something is that he ends up with way more apple pies than he has people he knows. Everyone Duke knows the name of gets 1(one) Apple Pie with 1(one) slightly magicked pie tin. The tin will keep the pies at a nice warm temperature, and will do this again if they are cooked in the pie tin. Something to do with "absorbing and storing heat from the oven and giving it slowly back over time", the note explains. Don't make cold pies in this tin, obviously.
This does leave a great deal of pies left over, and after some thought, Duke takes them to the plaza and the coral. This was newcomer time, wasn't it?
Now there's a table with pies, notes attached explaining "keep-warm pie tins", and a small paper sign proclaiming them as free apple pies. Yup. ]
(OOC: FEEL FREE TO FIND HIM DELIVERING PIES TO CHARACTERS WHO HE KNOWS. Just mention "christmas" or something in your tag and I will know it is his gift-giving o/ ANYONE CAN GET PIES FROM THE PLAZA...
Duke is also a Symphonian Angel for this -)

[ Although he wouldn't mind it at other times- ]

So it's a curse? The coral turned you into an angel? [A pause, then...] Are you all right?
no subject
[ He didn't really get it.
He's actually feeling better than he has been, likely because he doesn't... really feel. ]
no subject
[And that itch is still distracting him, only it's no longer "somewhere else." It feels like it's coming from Duke. Lloyd's face screws up as he tries to put words to what the feeling is.]
There's... something different. I think... You're doing something to the air, only it's not the air. But I can feel it.
no subject
[ Oh. Duke blinks at Lloyd again. ]
Sensing surroundings via mana. Can sense mana?
[ And lets see if he can color the mana a little - a faint red, but there's a series of.. whirlpools, with him at the center, that range from foot to knee to shoulder height, going clockwise and counter. ]
no subject
[He pauses at the question, then shakes his head.]
No, I can't sense m- Gah!
[He rubs his arms, staring wildly like he's just been goosed. But he's not staring at anything specific, just Duke, like he can't see what's going on.]
What did you just do?
no subject
[ Now... he's curious. Sorry, Lloyd, but there's some more clockwise, but fairly gentle, spinning. Will Lloyd rub one side first? ]
no subject
[He twitches, right hand going back to rub his left arm. Left arm, then his right, but definitely left arm first.]
no subject
[ and a second test. Duke stops spiraling his mana about. ]
Close your eyes. Have a theory.
no subject
He eyes Duke warily, his hand stopping on his arm, seeming forgotten. Then after a moment, he closes his eyes.]
Okay, now what?
no subject
[ And he just. Starts casting a spell. Slowly, so he doesn't have to say anything. ]
no subject
...imagination that is getting way too good at what it does. He rubs his arms again, anxiety and tension making his heart speed up, and it still feels like there's something there, something he can't see, and the feeling is driving him up a wall.]
You're not doing anything right now, are you?
no subject
[ Duke holds the spell - ready to take it apart when Lloyd did. He kind of did start casting a combat one, but Lloyd was only marked as a 'friend'... ]
no subject
rundangerGETOUTOFTHEWAYDODGE!
Alarm shoots down his spine, and he snaps his eyes open in a panic, and before he even knows what he's doing, he's responding to the threat-]
GUARDIAN!
[A shell of mana flares to life in the air, intercepting the friendly spell before he even has a chance to figure out that it isn't a danger to him.]
no subject
[ Lloyd.
It wouldn't have done anything...
Duke tilts his head and probably looks a little amused, but he just drops his hand back to his side and says nothing else. ]
no subject
What was that for?
no subject
... Marked as ally, would not have damaged.
[ Is that what you were asking about, Lloyd? ]
no subject
[Surprise mixes with a certain amount of chagrin, which his tries to hide by giving Duke a frustrated look.]
Then why'd you cast that spell at me? I thought you were attacking me, Duke.
no subject
[ Can he poke Lloyd into figuring it out himself? It didn't work that well for him last time but... ]
no subject
You were attacking me! I wasn't paying attention to when I opened my eyes. What does that have to do with anything? I just... reacted...
[He trails off as it finally starts to clue in. What had he reacted to in the first place? His expression shifts into one of uncertainty.]
...Duke, what did you do?
no subject
Gathered mana, molded it into a combat spell, held it for as long as possible.
no subject
[Duke, why don't you see how alarming this is?!]
What kind of spell was it?
no subject
Intermediate rank, light aligned, offensive in an area.
no subject
So it was a really dangerous spell, with lots of mana? Something even I could feel?
no subject
[ He could have scared you with Meteor Storm, but he didn't- ]
