Dashing through the snow

Fai had already gone up ahead and made all the necessary preparations. A battlefield had been marked out in an open area. Out of bounds areas were set up that housed the tents for making snow cones, as well as bleachers that could be considered safe from the war that was about to take place.

With the help of Nepeta, piles of snowballs and snow forts were already prepared for the days festivities. And in case anyone got too chilled, a tent with a heater was set up to take away some of the edge of those icy temperatures.

There was a light snow that continued to fall even though the sun was out, helping to take a little bit of the bitter coldness away. It was the perfect weather to have a snow ball fight! All that it needed was the participants and the spectators.



On a board by the field, the teams are posted for all to see. Armbands of blue and red are displayed and ready for the team members to take and put on.

It's also a part of why I came out today. After she left I took on a lot more work in my shop. Keeping busy kept my mind off of things... But it wouldn't be a good idea to stay a hermit forever. I'm forcing myself to be a bit more proactive in my social interactions.

Good! 'Cause I mean if you didn't we'd like hardly ever chat right? And that would suck sort of a lot. I like chattin' all of you up a bunch and there're only so many people in my life who actually know that a princess neckline is on a dress, let alone what it actually looks like.

Believe me, I know how that feels. I think you're the first person I've ever met that shares my interest in textile aesthetics. You would not believe how many times I get customers that don't know what they want until I make it for them. As much as this place seems rigged in favor of causing us misery, I'm still glad I got to be your friend here and now. Otherwise, I'm going to have to wait a sweep and a half before we can meet up.

[A sweep and a half in which she may start dating your mom. Whoops.]

Man, that long? That sucks. Like I knew you guys were floating through fuckall for a really long time, but I didn't know how long it was. And we only just entered the game when Dirk 'n I showed up here.

That's been our estimation. About three human years of travel, trapped together on the meteor. I don't know how long you'll be waiting for us to arrive though, but it probably won't be exactly the same. Time works unreliably in the furthest ring.

Yeah I dunno how long we're gonna be playin' before y'all show up. I think Jake said somethin' about it almost being a year since we entered that he came from? I can't remember. It's way ahead of the rest of us, anyway.

I must admit I'm interested in seeing how your session is set up, what your planets are like. Did you find out what your titles are before you were brought here?

Interesting. Were any of you Space players? I'm a Sylph of Space, and from what we can tell, a space player is a requirement of most sessions.

Mmm... nope. No space players. Actually we didn't have most of what we were supposed to. My friend was telling me all about it. Our session is pretty damn boned from the start. We don't have a time player, either, which I think is a thing she said is absolutely required for a session to go anywhere? So.

[ SHRUG ]

I don't really know what to expect once we get going on it.

Strange. I'm not entirely sure what we're going to do when we make it you your session either. I guess we're going to have a few years to figure that out. We better, there's a nearly unstoppable demon following us that we'll all need to deal with once we stop.

[ Roxy grins and gives a small shrug. ]

Nah, it's fine. It'll probably liven things up a little bit! I mean, from the sound of things, we'll be hanging out in our session for at least few months before you guys show up. We could probably use the entertainment.

That assumes we all survive the trip. After all, it's a small area, three years, and our crew includes a Strider, a Lalonde, and Karkat.
