The Doctor Arrives (again)
Who: The Doctor and You
Where: Standard Plaza Drop
When: Late Morning, just before Noon, November 24th
Style: Brackets preferred but I'll match
Status: OPEN
[A rather damp man in a tweed dress jacket and red bow-tie suddenly appears in the plaza next to the corral.
He spins around quickly, observing and taking in the scene before him in a rush of information.
He runs his hand through his hair nervously only to discover that it is wet.]
I'm wet. [He brings his hand down from his head and inspects it. Sniffs it. Then tastes it.]
Correction. [He looks down at the rest of himself and flaps his jacket out a few times as if to get rid of the excess liquid. He begins to straighten his bow-tie.] I'm soaked... [There is a pause.] with salt-water.
And I'm inside a bubble under an ocean next to an enormous piece of coral.
Ooookay. [He claps his hands together and tilts his head to one side and then the other.]
No TARDIS in sight. [He checks his pockets.] Sonic accounted for, that's good. [He removes his sonic screwdriver and takes a reading. There is a green light and an electric buzzing noise for a few seconds. It turns off and he flips the device up to his eyes to inspect the data.]
Well I haven't mis-aimed. There is certainly something odd about this place.
[He places the sonic screwdriver back in his waterlogged pocket.]
So here's a question. [He continues to talk to himself and walks in a semi-circle around the coral.]
Why does this feel oddly familiar?

[It's not the largest piece of technology, but something in the durable material seems to shift slightly at the Doctor's touch. If he's still, he might feel it subtly moving along with a light tingling motion. It's just trying to figure out its surroundings, nothing bad.]
Not too many others seem to have in Vatheon.

Realizing that it isn't posing him any harm, both his curiosity and smile return. He continues to hold the object.]
I am. Telepathy, phsycic visions, that sort of thing?

[It's actually a pleasant surprise. He's had to explain the concept to a lot of people while in Vatheon. It gets tiring.]
It's rather common in large portions of our race. Our technology is sometimes designed to handle it.

[He offers Darkleer his power source back. He doesn't say anything, but he has a goofy grin on his face. It appears as though the Doctor is eager to share something but holding back from spoiling the surprise.]

[The smile is regarded with a tilt of his head, and then Darkleer goes back to paying for his purchases. Once that is done, he focuses more on retrieving his items. That is to say, he goes to each one in turn, little power source included, and they each begin to disappear. For a brief second for each, cards can be seen but they vanish quick enough. As Darkleer is finishing up, he asks over his shoulder.]
This is all I came for. I will be returning back to my hive, now, although you are welcome to come along if there is anything else you would like to ask. I know I have been somewhat... brisk in my answers.
You show me yours, I'll show you mine.
[The Doctor takes out a metallic cylindrical device approximately ten inches long and holds it out.]
Go ahead. Take a look.
[As soon as Darkleer touches it, it would react slightly to his thoughts, probably opening at one end.]
See now you're definitely propsitioning him. Doctor, please!
[Well, he was given free reign. So Darkleer takes advantage of it, inspecting the little device with all the critical nature an engineer of his standing can muster, which is quite a bit.]
May I ask the purpose of it, or would it be more interesting if I discerned it myself?
No idea what you're talking about.
He claps his hands together.]
It's a sonic screwdriver! Psychic interface! Go ahead! Try it!
[As soon as Darkleer would try, the green light at the end would come to life and a mechanical humming sound would begin.]
Sure you don't, buddy.
This is a positively gorgeous piece of equipment, stunning technology, truly-
[Shifting it to another hand, he holds it to his wrist where it seems to activate another piece of technology he has discovered while in Vatheon, this one made by himself. Information seems to be whirring between the two devices, and Darkleer makes a small little noise in the back of his throat that is nothing short of absolute delight.]
I think I must invite you over, if not today than sometime in the near future, Doctor.

Thank you. It's nothing really.
[He rocks on his heels a little with his hands in his pockets.]
I'd like to do a little exploring on my own since I just arrived, but I'll definitely take a rain check on that invitation.

[Darkleer looks a bit sheepish as he stops playing with the screwdriver. He also looks very reluctant. Parting is such sweet sorrow when there is technology involved.]
I.. suppose I should not hold you for much longer. You do have much to do, as do I.
[It's just. So beautiful.]

After Darkleer's reluctant pause, however, he does let out a polite cough and holds out his hand for its return.]

I live in the Phanga neighborhood, number fifteen. Please, feel free to drop by anytime you like.

I'll be dropping by shortly. Once I find my ship.
And don't worry, I'll bring the sonic with me.
