Kanaya's shop, round 3.
Where:Kanaya Maryams Storefront For Commissioned Ragripping And Seamstressing
With Display Space For Artistic Clothing Creations
When: A small sign on the door says this business opens an hour after sundown on the surface, and closes an hour before dawn, every day. Feel free to backdate if you wish, or set your posts whenever, really. Kanaya is in and working outside of business hours on occasion.
Who: Kanaya Maryam, hopefully a whole bunch of trolls, members of the host club, and anybody who's interested in her shop.
Style: I'll follow your lead.
Status: Open
The dress forms out front all have been clothed in a variety of styles; the specific outfits on display change often, sometimes as often as every day. Men's and women's fashions are available, though there is usually more dresses than anything else. Inside there are a few more outfits available for viewing, but this is not a clothing store. None of these outfits have a price tag, as the clothing here is hand made by the proprietor. a small sign on the back wall indicates that this business is for clothing repairs, tailoring, and custom commission work, though you are welcome to make an offer on something if you like it.
Things have been getting a bit crazy in the shop. Kanaya has been working extremely hard as of late to finish up a few projects before her next big commission starts. There is a rack of nearly finished outfits that has been left in the display room, her workspace is getting too cluttered to keep it back there. It's an organized chaos though, she's simply been spending more time working than keeping things tidy.

Things go fine until he gets to the sleeves. Then, without fail, he manages to snag one on the back of his glove, stretching the fabric past its limits in seconds. The sleeve's seam lets go with a soft purrrrrling sound.
"I ripped it."

"Thank you for putting up with this little experiment for me. We can move on to measurements now."

She fished out a tape measure from a pocket. "I should get your numbers next."

He's as mild and docile as a lamb while Kanaya takes his measurements, being very cooperative when she comes at him with her tape measure.

"There. Thank you. I only have one other thing I need. I'm going to be working on something for Gamzee, and if you have any ideas or opinions on what you might like him to wear I would like to hear them."

It's hard designing fashion for trolls. It's hard and nobody understands.
She puts on a sweet smile and responds. "He certainly does. I don't think I'll have any way to incorporate that pattern into my work, but we'll see. There are ways of making polka dots fashionable, but they might not work so well with what I have planned for you and Darkleer."
no subject
"Darkleer? What do Darkleer and I have to do with anything?"
no subject
"Oh... I forgot. This outfit I am making you is a part of a larger project. I'm going to make something for Darkleer and Gamzee as well, and I hope to make you all match together."
An understandable mistake, as she's been explaining this project over and over all week. she also detailed the plan for some people when she messaged them, and others when they arrived, making it even harder to keep track of who knows about it.

"So... you want Gamzee and I to match, but you also want Darkleer and I to match, but if you're going with a matesprit theme, you're going to need to make Summoner match somehow too..."
His doubts: he has them.
"This sounds extremely complicated, Kanaya."
no subject
Ahem. I mean Kanaya has plans. It'll all work out. Trust me.
"I never said it would be easy. The challenge is a part of the purpose here. They won't be the same though. Matesprites will complement each other, while ancestors and descendants will reflect each other. There's a difference."
no subject
"Oh, I see. That makes more sense." Equius' mathematical mind is spinning now, trying to work out the concepts on his own. "So, for example, the outfits for myself and Darkleer will be similiar, but will have their own elements due to our different matesprits?"
no subject
"Yes! That should be the result I'm looking for. Otherwise, you would look like Darkleer, then Summoner, then Tavros, then Nepeta, then Disciple, then Signless, then Karkat, then Eridan, then Dualscar... With my plan, each pair of ancestor and descendant will have a specific and unique style, but they will each be modified to match their mate. Not matching by wearing something similar, but by something different that doesn't clash. Something that looks good when the couples are with each other."
Kanaya has put a lot of thought into this, and a decent amount of research regarding the relationships present here in the bubble. She even made graphs!

Even if that involves sleeves.
