Kanaya's shop, round 3.

When: A small sign on the door says this business opens an hour after sundown on the surface, and closes an hour before dawn, every day. Feel free to backdate if you wish, or set your posts whenever, really. Kanaya is in and working outside of business hours on occasion.
Who: Kanaya Maryam, hopefully a whole bunch of trolls, members of the host club, and anybody who's interested in her shop.
Style: I'll follow your lead.

The dress forms out front all have been clothed in a variety of styles; the specific outfits on display change often, sometimes as often as every day. Men's and women's fashions are available, though there is usually more dresses than anything else. Inside there are a few more outfits available for viewing, but this is not a clothing store. None of these outfits have a price tag, as the clothing here is hand made by the proprietor. a small sign on the back wall indicates that this business is for clothing repairs, tailoring, and custom commission work, though you are welcome to make an offer on something if you like it.

Things have been getting a bit crazy in the shop. Kanaya has been working extremely hard as of late to finish up a few projects before her next big commission starts. There is a rack of nearly finished outfits that has been left in the display room, her workspace is getting too cluttered to keep it back there. It's an organized chaos though, she's simply been spending more time working than keeping things tidy.

"Human fashion is quite a bit more involved than ours, so I've been studying their works for inspiration. The bowtie and collar of this sort of jacket work very well on someone with such strongly defined shoulders, and like you say, the socks should work well with legs that have a lot of definition like his."

She certainly was not disappointed in the Summoner's reaction. He seemed to actually be thinking about eh fashion and how it's components might work with Darkleer. She can never complain when a troll actually puts thought into such things.

"Heh yeah, anyone could see that being here even for a few hours. It uh- seems to hold more place in their society." He doesn't really know anything about fashion, but when someone else has something as an interest and is talking to him about it he'll get into it as much as he can for the time being! He still not interested in it himself, but he can find enjoyment in this, especially if it means talking about putting Darkleer in something new.

"Uh, well okay then-" Scratches his chin again, standing straight.

"I'm not usre uh, what other input I can put in. Do you plan on...um, keeping to his usual colours? Blue and black?"

"In general I'm using blood color to dictate the general palette. There are a few exceptions based on the preferences of individuals, and the demands of trying to match matesprits together. I was thinking of blue on black for his outfit, unless you have an objection." She's always open to different ideas, of course. Darkleer had already told her that the Summoner preferred red, and she has been considering a few different warm tones revolving around that color, matched to his hair.

"I'm not, I like Tink's blood colour fine, uh, I'm more for red myself- for me I mean? But I guess orange and blue does look nice together? So I don't mind if you keep it orange. Are you going to put blue in my outfit and orange in his too?"

"I might. We'll see how the final designs work out. I must admit I haven't planning for your outfit yet. I wanted to actually see your wings and horns first before I started any plans, lest I be forced to redesign my work because I wasn't prepared for you." She was rather interested in this part of the project, as the summoner would provide the most challenging figure to design for.

"Heh, sorry I pose more problems." A smirk, shuffling his wings a little before tightening them behind him.

"I uh- I can see why I might be a little difficult to work with, as far as this sorta thing is concerned." A hardy laugh, smirking and putting a hand to his hip.

"But I guess something like this will do you some good, eh?"

"Exactly, you have nothing to apologize for. Most of the clothing I have ever made was for myself. Getting the chance to work on a wide variety of body types is one of the fun aspects of this project, and a challenging situation like this is far more interesting than most of the designs I'll be making." Kanaya's response was, perhaps, delivered a little more forceful than necessary, but it's the truth. This project has been a tremendous challenge overall, and she has been loving every bit of it.that apology caught her empathy. She couldn't allow him to blame himself for such an inconvenience, especially when there was no problem at all.

"Are you pretty excited for it?" Kanaya's so very precise and particular with how she talks, sometimes it's a little difficult remembering she is a child. Part of him can see how much she's enjoying this though, even with how tight her words are and how calm she seems to be acting right now.

"I know it's gonna help you grow as an artist, and uh- all that, but are you pretty damn excited to see how everything turns out too?"

"Oh yes. I will love to see the finished products, oh course, but I am even more excited to see them being worn. Most of the younger trolls here never bother to wear anything different or special. I doubt that most of the trolls of any age would have any options available if they were to attend a formal event. And then there's also the reactions of people when they get to see their own outfits, which pales in comparison with the reactions of matesprits when they see each other in something lovely." Well, she certainly sounds excited now. She's dropping cool precision just a little, remembering the look on Signless's face when she showed him one of her gifts for the disciple.

"Being worn, yeah- heh. Trolls aren't really used to that, so uh, I guess seeing a bunch of us in that stuff will be pretty nice. Especially considering you made all of it. Pretty impressive, kid." A wide smile, giving her a wink.

"So uh- how about we get started then. I'll give you some digits, do I just stand still or something?" Eyebrow raise. It's been a while since he's gotten something fitted. Like, a while.

"Thanks." Kanaya smiled, sincerely flattered by the praise. She only had her first encounter with the Summoner to help her know what to expect, and it seems that her initial appraisal was rather inaccurate. He seems like a rather nice person, really.

"Stand still, with your feet together and firmly planted, back straight and head held high." This should be a familiar pose for Summoner... if she knew about his military background she could have just called him to attention. She moves in with her measuring tape, ready to get to work.

A nod, doing as she instructs, and yeah, it's something familiar, but very very distant. He's been the leader of a rebellion, it's a lot less rigid than back in his cavalreaper days. But he does realize how similar it is and gives her a smile.

"Yes ma'am~"

Kanaya works quickly, recording most of the basic measurements on her SFC. However, the process slows quite a bit around his back. She carefully make measurements for the position of the wings, and for further precision she asks, "Could you please move your wings around a little? I'd like to get an idea of their range of motion so that my garment does not hinder your movement."

"Oh y-yeah, sure," he starts, giving a nervous smiles. He feels a slight chill from all the tedious movements brushing on his back but does his best to ignore them. With that, his wings open up a bit more and starts to move them, doing his best to give her an idea despite the lack of room. They seem pretty dang flexible, all six basic parts. They move together on either side, each three vertically down as a completely 'wing', yet the three parts can move a little on their own, not much though.

"Thank you. This looks easier than I thought." She finishes her notes quickly, and pockets the SFC.
"That should be all that I will need. It will be interesting to make something that works with your wings and still looks good when the outfit is reflected in your descendant. Luckily Nepeta gave me a lot of room to work with when I asked for her opinion on his outfit."

"Heh, well all tight then. And uh, yeah, I can imagine it'd be a little tough. I usually have t' work with whatever to get something I can even wear. Hence why I don't really dress the grandest." A smile, shrugging a shoulder as he turns to face her.

"You'll be sure to let a guy know if you uh- need any help or anything, all right?"

"I will. I was not planning on having anybody come in for preliminary fittings, but I might need you to do so just so I can be sure there's no problems with your wings."

"Uh, yeah sure. I can do that, heh. Not like I don't have the time to burn here." A short, bitter laugh.

She raises an eyebrow at that comment, and that laugh, feeling the need to contradict, "We only have as much time as we are granted by the conditions of this place. With no way of knowing how long that may be, it's best to make good use of our time here."

"That's true. I uh, am definitely aware of how easily our time here can be cut short."
