Enter Mischief
Who: Loki and you
Where: The forest
When: Nighttime
Style: As you please
Status: Open
[It was a deafening crash to the ground. Dozens of trees were uprooted or snapped in half in a charred trail that led to a small crater in a clearing. Echos of the rumbling could still be heard tens of minutes after the dust has settled. Though there is still some thick smoke in the hole, one close enough could see that something stirs within. One foot out. And then another. Followed by the swish of a coat's hem and the judging eyes of a man burdened with glorious purpose.
Loki does not like it when things don't go according to plan. He was bound and gagged by his brother and they were on their way back home when a force painfully yanked him from the bridge to Asgard. Now here we was - both drenched in seawater and partially on fire, unscathed but The reason behind the failure of the transport he had yet to discover. Right now he scanned his surroundings and scoffed in disapproval.
It was a realm he had never been in before. It was frustrating because now his body has to adjust itself to the system of mana in this world... that is, if there even is one here. He tried to generate fire. Nothing but sparks.
He's going to need time to figure out his next move, but there would be little of that for now. He can hear someone nearing the crash site, probably to investigate, and Loki had not the energy to teleport, cloak himself or even move. Whoever was approaching, Loki had to at least make sure it was a safe encounter. He can't make enemies now. At least not yet.
He took a throwing knife from a hidden pocket on his back and stabbed himself in the gut without wincing or flinching. He knows it will completely heal before the night is over. And as soon as that someone came into view, Loki put on a panicked face and screamed.]
Help!! Somebody, please!! Help me!!
[He grinned in his mind. So it begins]

I... I don't need to touch anything! [or anyone... not just yet] I must-
I.. must get away... from that man... that man with the hammer. He is dangerous...
[It's been so long since Loki acted this way. He enjoyed the thrill of it. The ruse of acting helpless, defenseless - how the idea tickled him so. If only this mortal knew that the bleeding man he was nursing was a god capable of splitting his skull with his bare hands... Oh how he relished on that thought]
You must... take me away... now. Before that man follows us...
no subject
[It's meant as reassurance, not dismissal. Ky doesn't know all the people here -- that's Zelda's job -- and he knows full well that some of the residents are dangerous. And the wound looks very recent.]
But we should head into the city.
Even if you're not comfortable touching the coral, there are more people there that can help, as well as safehouses if you need them and other materials.

[Loki feigned a struggle to get up. He tried squeezing the wound because it already began to heal the moment the blonde man took the knife]
But you must warn everyone... I know this is a different world. I've... spent my lifetime jumping from one realm to the next with that man with the hammer in pursuit.
[gasp]
He will.. find his way here... and when he does... he will destroy everything... Warn the people to fight or to flee...
[cough]
no subject
Given the nature of the place here, we cannot flee. But I'm a member of the Defense Force, and I'll inform the commander of the threat.
We'll do our best to protect you.
Is there any description beyond that he has a hammer that we should know?
no subject
He is a golden man... with the power over the skies... dominantly over rain and thunder. He will be wearing... his proud armor of silver and cape as red as the blood he spills... and he will be looking... for me...
He answers by the name of... Thor...
no subject
Ky started heading toward Vatheon proper, supporting Loki as he did so.]
We'll keep an eye out, then. If he's not here yet then you may be able to make independent living arrangements that would help him not to find you should he arrive, or there are three or four safehouses, that I mentioned before. Some people have offered up their apartments for this kind of situation.
no subject
I owe you my thanks, kind stranger... but I wouldn't want to endanger your people by situating myself in public residence. I will trouble you for information about this world... but after that, I must be in hiding...
no subject
To start with I suppose that I should explain that we are underwater. The coral I mentioned before maintains the barriers that keep the water from coming in. New people usually arrive over the period of one week per month. If this Thor has not arrived by the end of it then you should be safe for a while.
[Ky is focusing his full attention and as much earnestness as he can muster at Loki. This is an innocent that he has promised to protect, and he's going to do his best to do so.]
no subject
[Loki gauges him meaningfully. The man was watching over him, almost protectively. He could use a soldier of his caliber for his his future schemes, but that's for another day. Right now, all he needed was information.]
I admire your devotion to your duty, soldier. I must commend you for your dedication.
Is there anything else I should know?
no subject
It's been a while since I was a soldier. But duty never changes.
You should know that if you show your mark, you can get things for free at the convenience store. The natives...seem friendly, although they aren't necessarily. Beyond that, I think many of the basics have been covered. There's a welcome center that I'm sure knows the specifics that are necessary better than I do, or you can ask on the communicator you were likely given.
no subject
I beg your pardon, but... show them my what?

Though he is sure that the mark on his skin had no more function other than what the soldier had just said, Loki felt violated. He had been marked. Like some common farm animal. He will not be defiled like this.]
If I may trouble you some more, kind sir, will you lead me to this great coral? I'm sure a visit is due.
no subject
Right this way. And you can just call me Ky.
no subject
[Ky. He found it odd. But Loki thought it was also efficient. Perfect for a man of duty. Surely he will have his use to him soon.]
no subject
We're nearly at the coral now.
no subject
[As they approached the coral, Loki looked at it contemptuously. This was their deity. This is what brought him and possibly countless others here. This is what has marked him.]
Is there some method or etiquette to observe when approaching the coral?
no subject
Not universally accepted. I don't know what other people do, but I don't do anything special.
no subject
[Loki approaches the coral, intent in his eyes. He touches it and the mark on his chest glows bright. He feels his energy replenishing but at the same time, he felt himself being bound to this world, like he just signed a contract with his blood.
He went closer so that he could whisper to it,
"I don't know why you brought me here, but I do not like my body being touched, much less marked, by unknown forces. But I will play your game. I will make sure that you get what is due the moment I was invited here on this realm."
Loki backed away from the coral and turned to Ky, smiling.]
Perhaps accommodation for tonight would be all I ask now, Ky. If it's no trouble at all.
no subject
[People like Loki will need protecting no matter what, and Ky's duty lies with them, not this place. If he's serving its purposes, then so be it, because he won't turn his back on people he should help.
And he won't conform, Zelda might consider his God a jealous God, but he's still Ky's God, and Ky won't stoop to abandon him in favor of this idol.]
Of course. You're welcome to stay with me, which is a designated safehouse, or I can help you find an apartment of your own, or get a room at the hotel.
[He wasn't entirely certain which Loki means.]

Although you're welcome to stay as long as you need.
