Enter Mischief
Who: Loki and you
Where: The forest
When: Nighttime
Style: As you please
Status: Open
[It was a deafening crash to the ground. Dozens of trees were uprooted or snapped in half in a charred trail that led to a small crater in a clearing. Echos of the rumbling could still be heard tens of minutes after the dust has settled. Though there is still some thick smoke in the hole, one close enough could see that something stirs within. One foot out. And then another. Followed by the swish of a coat's hem and the judging eyes of a man burdened with glorious purpose.
Loki does not like it when things don't go according to plan. He was bound and gagged by his brother and they were on their way back home when a force painfully yanked him from the bridge to Asgard. Now here we was - both drenched in seawater and partially on fire, unscathed but The reason behind the failure of the transport he had yet to discover. Right now he scanned his surroundings and scoffed in disapproval.
It was a realm he had never been in before. It was frustrating because now his body has to adjust itself to the system of mana in this world... that is, if there even is one here. He tried to generate fire. Nothing but sparks.
He's going to need time to figure out his next move, but there would be little of that for now. He can hear someone nearing the crash site, probably to investigate, and Loki had not the energy to teleport, cloak himself or even move. Whoever was approaching, Loki had to at least make sure it was a safe encounter. He can't make enemies now. At least not yet.
He took a throwing knife from a hidden pocket on his back and stabbed himself in the gut without wincing or flinching. He knows it will completely heal before the night is over. And as soon as that someone came into view, Loki put on a panicked face and screamed.]
Help!! Somebody, please!! Help me!!
[He grinned in his mind. So it begins]

It's been a while since I was a soldier. But duty never changes.
You should know that if you show your mark, you can get things for free at the convenience store. The natives...seem friendly, although they aren't necessarily. Beyond that, I think many of the basics have been covered. There's a welcome center that I'm sure knows the specifics that are necessary better than I do, or you can ask on the communicator you were likely given.

I beg your pardon, but... show them my what?

Though he is sure that the mark on his skin had no more function other than what the soldier had just said, Loki felt violated. He had been marked. Like some common farm animal. He will not be defiled like this.]
If I may trouble you some more, kind sir, will you lead me to this great coral? I'm sure a visit is due.
no subject
Right this way. And you can just call me Ky.

[Ky. He found it odd. But Loki thought it was also efficient. Perfect for a man of duty. Surely he will have his use to him soon.]

We're nearly at the coral now.

[As they approached the coral, Loki looked at it contemptuously. This was their deity. This is what brought him and possibly countless others here. This is what has marked him.]
Is there some method or etiquette to observe when approaching the coral?
no subject
Not universally accepted. I don't know what other people do, but I don't do anything special.

[Loki approaches the coral, intent in his eyes. He touches it and the mark on his chest glows bright. He feels his energy replenishing but at the same time, he felt himself being bound to this world, like he just signed a contract with his blood.
He went closer so that he could whisper to it,
"I don't know why you brought me here, but I do not like my body being touched, much less marked, by unknown forces. But I will play your game. I will make sure that you get what is due the moment I was invited here on this realm."
Loki backed away from the coral and turned to Ky, smiling.]
Perhaps accommodation for tonight would be all I ask now, Ky. If it's no trouble at all.

[People like Loki will need protecting no matter what, and Ky's duty lies with them, not this place. If he's serving its purposes, then so be it, because he won't turn his back on people he should help.
And he won't conform, Zelda might consider his God a jealous God, but he's still Ky's God, and Ky won't stoop to abandon him in favor of this idol.]
Of course. You're welcome to stay with me, which is a designated safehouse, or I can help you find an apartment of your own, or get a room at the hotel.
[He wasn't entirely certain which Loki means.]

Although you're welcome to stay as long as you need.
