Monthly Mingle Log
[For once, I will have to request you look inside first.]

Johann Faust V, Isana-san. The pleasure is all mine.
[ And turning his attention back to the fireworks as a particularly spectacular spray of green comes up. ]
My entry into Vatheon wasn't as festive. Pity, really... I hope the city's treating you well at least?

[That gets an odd sort of look, a half smile that's only there for a second before Shiro bows. But it's not a typical Japanese bow, with hands at side, but a much more refined one with a hand to his chest.]
A pleasure to meet you. And yes, the city has been treating me well, all things considered.

[ And he raises a teacup as a particularly brilliant shower of sparks goes off overhead. ]
Well then, here's to you and the rest of your stay within the city, Isana Yashiro. May it be as pleasant as your entrance.

[The way he said Shiro's name gets an eyebrow raise from the teen, head tilting to the side curiously.]
I wouldn't think a German to be versed in the ways of Japanese phrasing.
no subject
[ Have a brow raised back. ]
I take it you're familiar with the name...?
no subject
[It's a seemingly innocuous statement, but Mephy should easily pick up on the fact that he said "The Japanese" as if referring to them outside of his own race or ethnicity.]
I am. I imagine anyone who enjoys literature would be~! Though I have to say you're not quite how I imagined the infamous Faust to look.
no subject
[ Yes, yes he did pick up on that. It strikes his interest but... all in due time. No point scaring off his new friend by prying too much. ]
Ah, so you are familiar with the piece! I'd give it a few liberties, myself. Certain things tend to warp and shift in meaning over time and telling, after all. You can say the name is a tribute rather than a direct connection.
no subject
Yes, yes, of course. Such is the way of translating anything to a different medium. In that case, it's a wonderful tribute. I feel honored to have met you, sir.
no subject
Now now, jumping a bit too far into conclusion. But I suggest you keep that open mind, Isana-kun. It'll do you quite well in this city. But if you don't mind my saying...
[ Crossing his legs. ]
You seem rather experienced with the idea.
no subject
Keeping an open mind? Well... yes, you could say that. I've had some experience with the... odd an unusual lately.
no subject
I believe we all have. It seems to be a common occurrence here, depending on who you talk to. Everyone has had their share of the unusual.
no subject
I've noticed. It's quite the gathering here.
That said, what do you make of it all?
no subject
Vatheon tends to like its parties, no matter what the occasion.
But as you were saying. What do I make of the city?
no subject
no subject
Humans, really... whatever will they think of next...?
no subject
What makes you so certain humans are responsible?
