Characters: Orihara Izaya and the world of Vatheon
Location: Most likely in the Plaza, but anywhere really.
Time: Monday evening
Style: Action or prose.
Status: Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide open
[This might be considered a warning sign for mental instability but if anyone actually knew Izaya, it wouldn't be that shocking. It's still a pretty interesting sight regardless.
Izaya is pacing back and forth. Between one street lamp and to the next. He's walking in a quick, even line back and forth, back and forth. He stops at each street lamp and occasionally pulls out his starfish communicator but only to put it back away and continue pacing. If anyone had been watching for a while now, they might've known that he's been doing this for a good twenty or maybe even thirty minutes.
He's muttering to himself too. Even better. Oh but the slightly worse part is the flick blade he continuously snaps open and shut in his other hand- of which is clicking loudly over his ramblings. He doesn't look upset. Actually, he looks kinda of energetic and excited.
Go and interrupt his thinking time?]

He stops abruptly and looks over. His eyes are comically wide before he smiles at once.]
Minato-kun.
[Ummmm. Yes. You know that personal space thing? It's obliterated by him quite literally hugging Minato. He can cover ground in seconds flat.]
Ah, you're stupid. You can't get dizzy from pacing.
[He has a hand on Minato's head and the other around his waist. Ignore the knife. It's not like he's going to stab him or anything.]

[2/2]
He will just ignore the knife, thank you, and instead offer Izaya a bit of a hug back once he manages to work his arms around him.]
Hello, Izaya-san.
[... : |a]
Are you sure?
no subject
I'm pretty sure. I don't feel dizzy.
[He'll pull back now but not much because he has to look at Minato's face. Like he's a kid or something (which he is).]
You look like you've been doing well. No bruises or cuts.
[Humming, he puts his knife away because y'know. Minato. Kinda in the harmless category.]
How have you been? Have fun with the recent curse?
no subject
He nods a bit, tilting his head.]
I've been fine, yes. Except...I really don't remember much of the curse. I suppose Vatheon put me to sleep for it but I really don't know.
[A complacent shrug.]
How have you been?
no subject
[He leans over and looks a bit more closely. He had wondered why he hadn't seen much of Minato lately.
Hell, he almost missed the kid.]
Me? [Big question, Minato. But this is Izaya so-] I've been just fine. I woke up a little while ago from a coma so I'm just doing a little bit of mental exercising.
no subject
[... : |b]
What sort of mental exercises? Maybe I should try too.
no subject
It's not that difficult. I try and remember every memory of mine since I was little. The most prominent ones. And then I try to remember specific lessons from school and different projects I've done. Then I remember entire passages from books I've read entirely. Then I put the map together in my head and where all of the countries go and their shapes- it's like a puzzle. And then I start to think of every face I've ever met, their name, their age, and a variety of details pertaining to them.
[That's not weird. Right.]
I also think about all of the recipes that I know. And how to make them. It's really just a way to remember everything. Not the repetition necessarily as much as it is the recognition. I remember everything in specific detail. But like any other human, you can only have frontal memories and the rest have to be pushed to the back or else you're too overwhelmed with everything you actually know.
Nn. That and I generally philosophize- which a lot of people find boring.
no subject
Wow that's a lot. He'll...tuck all of that into the back of his mind and just. Carry on.]
What do you philosophize about...?
no subject
...What everyone philosophizes about. Life, death, afterlife, love, hate, mortality, the basic functions of human society...
[The usual. Are you sure you want to talk about this Minato? You're like, 12.]
But enough about that. You should update me on your life. I feel like I've missed everything. I hadn't seen you around much before our comas either, so. I feel like a poor friend.
[But breaking his head phones makes him feel like a good one. See how that works.]
no subject
He blinks.
Ah...mood whiplashes...
But he'll just go with it.]
Nothing too exciting, I think. I've just been working on organizing the Defense Force and running the Welcoming Committee.
[busy busy protag. Oh but--]
You're not a bad friend, Izaya-san.
no subject
Wait 18. Whaaaat. He wouldn't believe that even if Minato said so.]
Your life sounds kinda boring, Minato. But you're satisfied, ne?
[Says to the busy antag. They have quite the relationship.]
Thanks, Minato-kun. That almost means something to me. I am pretty convenient, aren't I? You're an okay friend I suppose.
no subject
... : |a]
Of course I'm satisfied. I'm glad to be able to spend time here this way.
[...: |b]
I think you would be a good friend, convenient or not.
[Izaya you are the least convenient friend in the world.]
